All those FUDsters that like to gather on this subforum saying we would never reach 400, then 500, then 600... they keep getting proven wrong, they stay poor while we become rich

#winningteam

Come on man!  You just jinxed us all!
The last guy to go with the #winning hashtag was Charlie Sheen and that ended in an epic meltdown.

Wow that is an awesome support paying the $500 himself just to get on coinpayments I hope more people step up to give us this kind of support in what ever kind or effort ..

The way I read it, he wanted the pre-mine burned and then he would pay the $500 to get on coinpayments.  Of course I have, on occasion, read things incorrectly.

He is a hero member, I've browsed through his posts to see what kind of stake weight his words have, I may tend to trust his point of view . . .

 So you're burning the pre-mine?

7384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core keeps crashing while opening on: June 12, 2016, 01:33:42 AM
If I go to another disk and copy paste wallet.dat will it work ?

This will work but it would take days to get the entire block chain and you would have to rescan which would also take quite some time.
Are you saying it crashed again when you ran Bitcoin-qt with the -reindex command?  Is it running or not?

I had to reindex on my laptop computer in the fall of last year and it took a good portion of a day.  My laptop contained an I7-720M with an SSD - the speed of your computer and virtual memory is critical in determining how long it will take.

7387  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 - How to power in Canada? on: June 11, 2016, 07:23:57 PM
You have gotten alot of good info already  but I will tell you what I did anyways. When I got my 3 s7's I had the same issue. I needed each of them to have 220v and 16 amps. I ran a 6 Guage 3 wire cable from my main breaker panel pushing 220v to a new subpanel that I installed just for the miners then I got 3 20 amp 2 pole breakers and some 220v outlets from home Depot and installed 3 20 amp 220v circuits, one for each miner. I then had to get some heavy server power cords and splice new ends on them to fit the 220v outlets that I bought. I know there are alot of ways to avoid having to do this but it seems to me that each miner should have its own 20 amp circuit with the appropriate sized wires to avoid heating up breaker panels and wires. I read about pdu's and it seems to me like trying to put too many eggs in a carton. If you are interested I can upload pics of my setup.

Yeah!  Upload away.  Miner porn is always cool Wink

If they use PayPal then problems will come sooner or later.

I'm not vouching for this guy but he's accepting paypal for bitcoin that's risky when you don't know the buyer.
7390  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 - How to power in Canada? on: June 11, 2016, 04:45:26 PM
So the new, amazing Antminer S9 just came out... And I really want to buy it!
But the S9 needs to be powered at 1375W, and with 9 PCI-e connectors (3/board).
The recommended power supply is the APW3.
The APW3 needs over 220V to run, but I live in Canada, and in Canada there is only 110V outlets.
Currently I'm running 2 S5 antminers on one EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2, which has just the right number of connectors, which is 8.
So now I'm either looking for a PSU that can do 1600W and has 9 PCI-e connectors and hope it will be enough,
could use 2 PSUs to power one miner,
or get a 110V -> 220V transformer and hope it doesn't blow any boards or circuits.

Please help me out you wonderful people Smiley

You probably have a couple of 20A breakers in your kitchen on split plugs for your toaster over/coffee maker/microwave.  That would give you more than enough power for the S9 @ 120V
Careful with your other outlets though.  They are ganged so you could easily pop the normal 15A circuit breaker.  I did that a couple of years ago turning on my Christmas tree lights - even though the outlet was far away from where my miners were plugged in, they were on the same circuit.  If you do nothing else, make a diagram of which outlets are serviced by which breaker.

7391  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is this site a scam? on: June 11, 2016, 04:30:00 PM
It is likely a scam/Ponzi. OP should stay out of it.

The guy is selling bitcoin.  How the hell can that be a Ponzi?  Either you get the coin or your don't.
7392  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: June 11, 2016, 04:24:14 PM
I want to run vanitygen and if address balance is not zero vanity tell me what may i do ?

Not that you will ever have the opportunity but in the extremely unlikely case that this happens, only your conscience can tell you what to do.

Assalamualaikum everyone..
I am Muslim and i have been using bitcoin for several months. I just learn bitcoin and i saw many a lot of devious scheme to earn bitcoin. Just like HYIP, PONZI, Gambling, Bet etc.I am very afraid of RIBA. therefore, for guidance and assistance will be appretiated

Thanks Grin Grin Grin

Waalaikumsalam,,,
From my view bitcoin is not usury, because the principle bitcoin is such as currency. And bitcoin trading was not illegitimate I think because it is the principle of buying and selling and Islam allow the buying and selling. But of course if you use bitcoin for gambling is strictly prohibited by Islam. thank you

alhamdulillah, anta muslim aydhoon  Grin

Yes, in the islamic article said that tradig its fine. By the way,  in addition to trading, do you use bitcoin for anything else?
i think there are allot of muslim bitcoin users and not because they cant use it because of there religion but that is not true. There are allot of muslims that cant use the  coin in their country because no one accept it.
Muslims are need to choose investment way thats not collide with islam rule. There some signature campaign that no contact with riba or something that haram in islam. Also muslim can trading bitcoin, trading is halal right?  Wink

It is certainly not Halal if you invest your bitcoin here.
I wonder what the consequence of receiving coin that had previously been involved in a transaction for that purpose or even from Primedice, BC Casino, Bitcoin Gem, Silk Road, Satoshidice etc...
Would there be a method for purifying those coins?  So many Bitcoins are tainted.

7394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslim Bitcoiner on: June 11, 2016, 12:59:49 PM
I needed to search what Riba means: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riba

Based on what I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong), gambling is not unjust. Because in a gambling game, both parties agreed on their wagers. But scams/ponzis/hyips in the bitcoin world is surely Riba.

Riba is interest charged on a loan.  It literally means "excess"
Scams, Ponzis and hyips are either Maysir or Gharar both of which are forbidden under the Shariah.  I'm not a Muslim but I know gambling is expressly forbidden.  You might as well dye your hands in pig's blood as gamble.

Based on the definitions, I would think even mining of bitcoin would fall under Maysir unless you are considering it a hobby.  If it is done for investment, it is probably forbidden.

Ramadan Mubarak.

Hey guys thanks for the help and messages my computer was not with me, I was at my GF place :p

I try your solution now

However I'm on mac, will it work with the .exe extension ?
Just omit the .exe part.

today's debug.log
Is that it? We need to see the full thing.

The entire file is huge,

I have omited the .exe part but I get an invalid command

Okay then, first show us the next 30 lines of the log after this line
Code:
2016-06-10 15:35:46 Verifying last 288 blocks at level 3
and also show us what you are typing into the console that gives an invalid command.
7396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GPU Coin - IMPORTANT NEWS - Please Read The ANN if you hold GPU on: June 11, 2016, 12:02:26 PM
You have just over 10,000 blocks before 100,000.  Let it get closer to finishing.

I shut off my GPUs because the difficulty is getting up there and my electricity is nearly .20 per kWh.   It's not worth mining based on the current price.
Also, it's not possible to "get it closer to finishing" since the GPUcoin algorithm will compensate for the higher network hashing rate and increase the difficulty.  The rate of block confirmation is a hard and fast rule within the software.  Presently we are spinning our wheels and while it feels good, it doesn't get us any closer to finishing the last 10,000 blocks.  That being said, the person with the highest hashing rate still wins the most coins and there are very few left to mine Wink  Good luck!

I love my country, the Philippines. It has so many to offer, beach, scenic spot, historical spot, people, food. Name it, we have it.
i like too. im never seen other country like in philippines

Yes it's difficult to find such opressive humidity and so much political freedom in a country.  There is no other quite like it.

My favourite country is my own country. Cool

Wow!  You own your own country?  I have heard about this - is it called The Free Republic of Liberland?
7400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Within 10 years we will all own more than 21 Million Bitcoins each on: June 09, 2016, 01:06:04 AM
If you are shorting bitcoin with a 10X margin, would you expect to control the private keys?

Nope. But I'm shorting with the expectation of withdrawing the spoils from the exchange to a place where I do control the private keys. If they can't supply that then they're not going to last very long.

But probably long enough to part xhomerx10 from his bitcoin.
Another Hero member asking noob questions. Like you might hold the priv key if you 10x margin.

Sorry if i'm missing the humour?

No humour intended.  I'm trying to make people think.
You would be playing with more bitcoins than you control.

To address your concerns about my status.  Posting more messages than a noob doesn't make me any smarter.  Also,
I don't trade.  I mine, buy and hodl.
