I think yes it is necessary to gain a such a big profit because you dont even know when prices are rising up and you dont have an idea when it will fall down or dump. But to think that starting at huge price will give you a high profit

I have also a huge loss on the altcoins that i hold. It is hard to see that your altcoin drops big. But i think the right to do now is wait until our altcoins will grow again.
I think it is really hard to wait specially when our holdings are dropping. But in order for us to gain and not to lose a huge amount of profit we maybe do holding for good, and wait for the right time to sell. unfortunately we have no large coin, we never did have then before either!
there are cons like ETH which are super hyped and advertised nonstop but that doesn't make it "big" or large! it just proves their advertisers are big!
as for recovery i have to say most of the altcoins won't recover from this dump and many of them will require a long time before they can get pumped again.
if you want to invest, it is best to wait a little while for bitcoin dump to stop and it reaches a nice bottom then start buying bitcoin as much as you can. it has been proven many times that altcoins are only good for short term and as long as bitcoin is stable.
I agree on that maybe some altcoin will really having a hard time to get rise again. But the possibility is always there and we cannot really predict on what will be the exact time of rising. Nope it is because of the large number of investors or the early users selling their bitcoin , So they are the one who is dumping the market from what I have read it is from the Mt.Gox they are dumping their bitcoin. Early adopters have a huge contributor in these dips. Of course they are new and still learning for this, that's why we should not blame them thoroughly. Mt. Gox issues also makes some investors to get their token off earlier and they are competing to sell their tokens that helps market going down. I think bitcoin is going down because it receive a negative trust from the negative issue from the feild, bitcoin will rapidly dropping down like it never rise again because of some negative issue.
