I think it will be but currently isn't. It is a new coin with a good roadmap, whereas monero has been around for several years. If deeponion can complete it's roadmap which includes smart contracts, then it will be better than monero and it is still currently very cheap.

The hottest news is that south korea is not going to ban bitcoin and altcoins, they are most likely going to regulate it in some way. South koreans are relieved and are rejoicing by buying up as much bitcoin as possible which is driving up the prices again. If you mean something real then avoid bitcoin and litecoin as they have no real purpose other than a store of value. Ethereum is stable but it has already mooned so you need one that is going to rocket. Take a look at LISK which is relauching next week. If you get some now you can expect a nice pump and good long term gains.

It's been in development for over 2 years and so far it is about as useful as any standard altcoin. It could be an ethereum killer but progress is kinda slow, is there going to be a beta or an MVP prior to the SDK release? Just wondering if there will be any ICOs released on LISK this year

Lisk so far has failed to deliver anything useful which is why the price is below what it should be. If the relaunch even is successful and they actually deliver what they intend to, then the price will pump spectacularly. However, i doubt it will last throughout all of 2018 as at some point bitcoin will rally and then everyone sill start to sell their alts to jump on the bandwagon. If you had invested in both oyster pearl and tron at the very beginning you would be sitting on a huge fortune right now! However, as they have both already pumped it is hard to say how much further they will rise. I think it will still go up but not at the same crazy rate that it did late last year. Worth getting a few though due to being good coins.

All good privacy coins are going to be good investments this year. Monero, Dash, XSPEC are all going to go up. Deep Onion has a very low market cap due to being a new coin so there is a lot of room for growth. XSPEC is also similar with a low market cap but excellent privacy features. Both excellent investments.
