621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Become a Blockchain developer and Get rich! on: April 28, 2018, 09:49:21 AM
This is one field that i wish i had skills in. Not only earning money at the office, there are so many private contracts that you can take up so you can work at home in the evenings as well. Or even create your own project with other developers.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Paying Your Crypto Taxes? A Recent Study Suggests Otherwise on: April 27, 2018, 04:43:04 PM
If you buy from big exchanges like coinbase and binance then one day you will have a hefty tax bill. Better off looking at decentralised exchanges and focus on privacy coins. Look at BISQ and pick out some anonymous coins to stay under the radar
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realized that I won't see the moment when the last satoshi will be extracted on: April 27, 2018, 04:37:27 PM
If you want to see the last bitcoin that will be mined then put your body into deep freeze and wake up in 2140! If you still have access to your private wallet then you will wake up to be a billionaire, although 1 billion is probably the price of a big mac
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is keeping your money on Coinbase really that bad? on: April 26, 2018, 05:35:34 PM
It's worth keeping a small amount there in case you lose the details of your own wallet, but you should really look after your own just in case. Coinbase is an easy way to invest so good for newbies, but eventually they should learn about personal wallets and safeguarding bitcoins.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency education in high school on: April 26, 2018, 05:32:58 PM
Good to see that education is forward thinking but high school is a bit too early. Perhaps the curriculum leader is a crypto investor so it's a good way to keep a steady flow of investors! When they go to university, they should learn it is certain subjects like programming and cryptography
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google results show more people searching for Bitcoin than gold on: April 25, 2018, 04:53:45 PM
It's not easy to find gold any more, you need expensive equipment to dig down the mines. Getting bitcoin requires an asic machine or mining using your computer for altcoins and then transferring them to bitcoin. Better off getting bitcoin instead, easier and more profitable
627  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ensuring Quality Posts on: April 25, 2018, 03:56:48 PM
Not every post has to be high quality but it should be on topic i.e. not spamming about something else. If you are referring to the merit system then make sure your posts are useful, or interesting to read. Giving info rather than asking questions is a good place to start
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pablo Escobars Brother Says BTC created by CIA W proof on: April 23, 2018, 06:05:29 PM
I doubt satoshi worked for the CIA, quite the opposite in that he wanted financial freedom for the people. Escobar is just trying to get some free publicity with his outlandish claims. We should simply ignore anything he says, it also ruins the reputation of his coin
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news from India on: April 23, 2018, 06:03:23 PM
All these big countries are banning and then unbanning bitcoin. it must be due to FOMO by governments who now realise that if they don't adopt this technology they will simply be left behind. Soon they will follow venezuela in creating their own tokens
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Сontinued growth or dramatic fall on: April 23, 2018, 06:01:38 PM
There are too many big investors joining in now like Circle, plus banks in Dubai are creating their own blockchain coins to replace cheques so everything is moving in a positive direction. It will go past $10,000 either this month or next
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin : what's going on ? on: April 22, 2018, 11:23:16 AM
XSPEC is going to pump in the next few weeks in anticipation of the free airdrop for WISP coins. If you have 1000 XSPEC you will receive 1000 WISP coins in your wallet. Buy xspec now before the inevitable pump, not sure about the value of wisp but it's free anyway.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any coin like bitcoin? on: April 22, 2018, 07:35:03 AM
Not at the moment, bitcoin is a household name and no other coin has reached that status. Ethereum is number 2 and technically a better coin as it add functionality through it's DAPPs platform, but it's only known to crypto users and technical corporations.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a better payment system? on: April 22, 2018, 07:31:58 AM
Depends on how you are going to use it. Yes it is better for transferring funds across the globe, but for small payments like buying a newspaper, fiat cash is a better option as it is quicker. Bitcoin has it's uses, but needs to develop more to be a real everyday payment system
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is owning bitcoin a crime? on: April 22, 2018, 07:29:34 AM
Depends on what country you live in. Simply owning a bitcoin is not illegal, but using it to buy drugs and weapons will probably land you in prison. This is no different to fiat cash, depends on what you do with it. Owning a bitcoin makes you lucky!
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Research Paper - Bitcoin is Shariah Compliant on: April 21, 2018, 09:36:05 AM
Looks like they have another way of trading oil, no need to rely on USD when you can buy using bitcoin. Good to see that religion is not going to block the adoption of bitcoin, all should get involved in this new type of bank-free currency.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to withstand whales? on: April 21, 2018, 09:33:12 AM
Not much you can do against the whales unless you form a trustwothy community that can act as a whale. However, you cannot really trust anyone in this crypto world, looking at some of the articles these days you cannot even trust your own family let alone strangers
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people need to use Bitcoin for Money laundering? on: April 21, 2018, 09:25:00 AM
That is the reason why we need bitcoin to grow bi this year, when it becomes too big to fail then no-one can stop it. Not even regulation, because it is a global currency so other countries will simply carry it forward. Hope to see it pass the ATH this year
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin reached its goal? on: April 20, 2018, 08:58:35 PM
Bitcoin has not reached it's goal yet because it is not used as a mainstream form of currency to spend. When lightning is released then it is possible for the dream to be reaslied, otherwise we have to rely on altcoins to do the job
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virtual currency, Cryptocurrency, how about "network currency"? on: April 20, 2018, 08:56:52 PM
To make is more meaningful to the masses digital currency would be a better choice. Crypto currency makes sense to us but not to the average john or jane doe. Then when you add altcoins into the mix it becomes really confusing
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One country in Asia to develop bitcoin transactions legally on: April 18, 2018, 09:18:52 PM
This forum has a large number of posters from the Philippines so i guess there is a lot of interest over there. Luckily it is going to be legal to do business with bitcoin over there making all of us jealous Embarrassed I'm sure in the future even regulated countries will become more bitcoin friendly, lets see what Philippines is like with their new crypto friendly rules.
