741  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: in windows 7 how to kill guiminer and start again every half hour? on: August 15, 2011, 02:58:14 PM
The temperature changes from idle to 100% would be dramatic enough to shorten the life of your card, ifi that's what you're worried about. Just leave it runnint 24/7, it will be better for the components.
742  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Radeon HD 6970 (used for a month) on: August 14, 2011, 11:55:24 PM
Would you take $200 for them?
743  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 6990 x 2 - $925 Free Ship - Pics on: August 14, 2011, 03:29:12 PM
Updated with picture, my name, and a horrible drawings of Homer Simpson.

OMG That is hilarious XD
Haha, yeh, I'm no artist. Although, my homer does look a tad bit crazier.

+1. hahahaha. Made my morning. Cheesy
744  Economy / Goods / Re: Reference Diamond ATI 6970 New on: August 14, 2011, 06:13:56 AM
Can you do international shipping?

Where to? I'd have to research how much international shipping costs (and add that price on to the card), but I'd consider it.
745  Economy / Goods / Re: Reference Diamond ATI 6970 New on: August 14, 2011, 05:52:52 AM
No problem.

746  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 2 * XFX HD 5850 on: August 14, 2011, 03:40:23 AM
the price for a used item is -30% of official price.
so 130 - 30% = 91 eur per card.
I agree to pay this price in btc or eur as you wish.
Which is 129 usd and around what I said the lowest any one should sell for. 129 usd is 13 btc not 10.

ok as you see i recalculate my price so i will pay you 91eur per card in btc or eur.
13btc per card is ok.

I already was scammed in this forum when i prepaid so we have 2 options:
to use escrow service
or when I receive the cards then I will pay you.

but not have a chance for second time i to paid first.

You realize you're not talking to the original poster (the seller), right?
747  Economy / Goods / Reference Diamond ATI 6970 New on: August 14, 2011, 03:37:29 AM
Hey all,

I bought a new 6970, but...it's too big for my case. ><

So I guess I may as well sell it. It's a reference card, so it should be easily overclockable, and since it's a 6970, obviously it will play games extremely well. Look for $375 worth of btc (or $375 straight up), shipping included to anywhere within the continental US.

PM me if interested.
748  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: August 02, 2011, 09:35:53 PM
Sure, still willing to pay .1 btc for prank calls to his number that are recorded. Also, bonus btc for hilarity! Cheesy

Did you check out the info I posted? Was it him?

No, I didn't. I didn't see much good going that route, especially since I've already thrown away the defective video card.

I'd imagine most people would react badly to someone calling them on the phone telling them that their kid scammed someone, especially without any evidence, so I didn't bother.

Thank you so much for your effort though! Smiley
749  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: August 01, 2011, 08:58:02 PM
Oh, and all my attempts at contacting the kid through email and phone just magically happened to get lost in the ether. And it was just a coincidence that he would pick up my phone call when I called from a DIFFERENT number than my cell, but would ignore all the calls coming from my cell.

Yeah...  Roll Eyes

Update? Are you still looking for people to prank this guy? Are you still offering 0.10 btc?

750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbills used mybitcoin - grrrrr. on: August 01, 2011, 08:53:32 PM
We did use mybitcoin for payment processing, and only payment processing. Fortunately, we withdraw most transactions almost immediately, so we had only a trivial balance on mybitcoin when they closed up shop.

Orders have been paused while we setup our own, in-house payment processing. We realize this is the safest solution moving forward.

All orders will ship out as expected. Orders for just Bitbills are still generally shipping within 3 days. Orders with bank cards included are backlogged slightly as we scale production, but should be shipping out by Friday.

Please email us if you have any questions about your individual order, and feel free to post any general questions in this thread!

Pretty professional, and a great way to communicate and deal with the situation. Thumbs up from me.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should rename "miner" as "auditor". on: July 30, 2011, 05:07:09 PM
This is actually a pretty good suggestion.
752  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: July 26, 2011, 06:31:21 PM
What a fucking disgusting show of the internets gaping asshole... For all you people know the original poster just doesn't know how to troubleshoot his new video card... or just wants revenge on someone for whatever reason you could never ever prove?
'

Yes, that's right. I obviously didn't bother to try troubleshooting the problem by putting the video card in multiple computers to see if it was a motherboard compatability issue; and you know, the identical XFX 5850s that I *already own* must just somehow magically work in my computer.

is this still ongoing?

Yup yup. That it is.
754  Economy / Services / Re: BOUNTY: Bitcoins for prank calls! on: July 22, 2011, 02:19:27 AM
Got this anonymously. It's pretty funny. Somebody sent me two calls, one which went to voicemail and one which went to him.

On the plus side, this means he's hasn't given up on his phone yet, so we can continue the harassment! (I'm looking at you OgNasty Cheesy)

I haven't had any success with calling... But his number was signed up for 3 different scam horoscope companies that charge $9.99/month.

Great idea. I accidently went overboard with my fun and about 15 services registered to the number.

Haha, awesome! I think that deserves a tip hehe. bitcoin address? Cheesy

My address is 1NL5wEtxEddj6wCPdVVKzn8hdkpjWs3Qde
Thanks  Grin Absolutely hate scammers.

Sent you some btc. Smiley Sorry about the delay! Thanks again for your help!
755  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: newegg put something useful for sale on: July 20, 2011, 09:49:26 PM
I ordered one of these last week at the $59.99 USD price, got it DOA and had to ship it back for $9.09, turned out to be an expensive drive.

When I dropped the RMA at UPS, there was an *identical* box on the counter already, I had to do a doubletake and make sure I wasn't in the twilight zone!  I don't know for sure if it was the same drive being RMA'd by someone else, but chances are fairly good.

I've got two of these in my server already and they're great drives, but be warned of potential for DOAs.

Newegg generally doesn't make you pay return shipping for defective items. Why did they make you pay shipping in this case?

Since when? I had to return a defective item and they made me pay return shipping. They didn't make me pay shipping back to me again I guess.

Uh, since always? :/ I've had near 100% success when contacting them for RMA and saying my item was defective. They almost always gave me a prepaid shipping label, whether or not I asked, as long as whatever I was returning was defective.

757  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: for people who started mining recently, have you paid off your machines? on: July 20, 2011, 08:50:45 PM
Yes, started about the middle of May according to my newegg invoices.

Of course, my payoff period was a little longer, since I was buying parts for machines that I would use after mining. So no AMD Semprons, I was getting Intel i5-2500k's along with P67 mobos, etc.

Just barely started making money, and that's with me selling some of my video cards that I got as well. But hey, I have shiny new computers, so yay for that.
758  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Fan Speed vs Heat on: July 19, 2011, 06:13:04 PM
I'd say leave it the way it is. You have a pretty nice balance of fan speed and temps atm.

My 5870, by comparison, bounces between 85 and 90 celcius at 96% fan speed.
