741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IPO] Quantum [QTM] - The First Long-term Investment Vehicle of Its Kind on: May 07, 2014, 01:32:12 AM
So at least 60% pre-mine for dev? Are you kidding me? And you call this coin without any innovations a long-term investment? Wow, you guys are really good at making money! People who will lose money because of this coin deserve it. They are too greedy. And they will become the member of this Ponzi game without doubt. As for newbies without posts but only appear in this thread, go fuck yourself!

744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 03, 2014, 12:19:55 AM
All funds are safe. Poloniex does use cold wallets.

What happened was an attacker used social engineering to gain root access to a wallet server. This was made possible by absolutely jaw-dropping negligence on the part of the hosting provider. Fortunately, I caught the attempt in time and was able to shut down the server before anything was taken. All BTC has been moved into cold storage, and then next step is to set up a new server with a different provider.

Please stop sending BTC to your old BTC deposit addresses. The funds will not be lost, but all new addresses must be generated, as I must assume the old wallet is compromised. It is very unlikely that it was, but "unlikely" is not good enough.

I appreciate everyone's patience while I take proper security measures before bringing the exchange back online.

I send some sourcecoin just before you shut down the server. Will these coins be safe too?

You guys never heard of the BitShares ecosystem?

pre-alpha release of the website: http://bitshares.org

We of course know BTS. It‘s still in developing.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, MaidSafe, NXT, anything else worth investing in, in 2014? on: April 24, 2014, 11:46:09 AM
2 days ago I was going to take a small position on Maidsafe, suddenly, they screwed things up with the IPO trough MSC and I decided not to buy in. Nevertheless, the idea is really interesting, maybe I would give them a second chance.

NXT is really promising for me. I think in this forum there is a non reasonable hate towards NXT: If the price goes up, they blame the initial distribution, if the price goes down they say NXT is dead. This is totally stupid. The IMPORTANT point is the tons of developments the devs of NXT are carry on at the moment and you can check at their forum. In 3-4 months time and if the devs continue the good work, NXT could make a killing in cryptoworld.

Finally, I should read more about Ethereum to make a wise decision.

Maidsafe didn't really screw up. They had more interest then they expected and the found a fair way to compensate people for the irregularities. The "I bought MSC and now I'm screwed" crowd has a small case, but they shouldn't take it too badly. MSC is just getting started and they are better off getting in now then in a years time.

I hadn't been fond of NXT as I'm more of a Mastercoin guy, but I'm going to give it a look along with Ethereum.

It's not just "I bought MSC and now I'm screwed". People who have invested in maidsafe are partial to maidsafe now. What dev have done is destroying the base of virtual community----trust. I really think the project is innovative. But if all of us just care about technique but not morality, this place gonna be full of scam.
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maidsafe on: April 24, 2014, 11:24:45 AM
You guys are all talking about tech specifications. No one cares about morality, about what they have done.
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ever been Scammed? Coins Source is here for you ~ SourceCoin Compensations on: April 23, 2014, 02:27:24 PM
Watching maidsafe's ipo for two days. I'm really disappointed. There is no doubt that decentralized internet is an awesome idea. But what dev have done made it disappointing. Manipulating market and changing rules at will, all of these things remind me of mtgox and labcoin scam. Anyway, I'm back for your altcoin database! Grin

760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Safecoin maidsafecoin on: April 23, 2014, 04:46:32 AM
In the spirit of the old movie Marathon Man I have one question .....

"Is it safe ?"

Do you mean, is it legit?

Dave Johnston of Bitangels is backing this.

David Irvine is not some anonymous guy who is about to run away with the cash.

They've been working on this for 8 years now, so likely some VC has invested in this.

It looks like they've mistakenly underpriced it.  They were thinking that it would take 30 days to fund the $8 million, however it is already 75% funded and it was just opened today.   Likely in about two days,  funding will completely close.

They are not anonymous so they won't cheat people?Huh Are you kidding? Can't you see what happened? They first fix the MAC exchange rate and then stop accepting MSC. Then they buy safecoins with crowd sale money. You call people who have done these good guys?
