David Irvine is not some anonymous guy who is about to run away with the cash.

They've been working on this for 8 years now, so likely some VC has invested in this.  

It looks like they've mistakenly underpriced it.  They were thinking that it would take 30 days to fund the $8 million, however it is already 75% funded and it was just opened today.   Likely in about two days,  funding will completely close.

He replied  within 30 minutes saying, "Yes you are still OK. We will update the site on completion and worst case we return over subscribed BTC back to owners. There are still MSAFE for sale and you will be fine just now."

So, yes, it is still okay to buy with BTC.  The main website has the bitcoin address.  From the message I will assume that they when they have all the bitcoin for their target, they will say not to send anymore bitcoin in a similar way they updated the website to say not to send MSC.

They are not anonymous so they won't cheat people? Are you kidding? Can't you see what happened? They first fix the MAC exchange rate and then stop accepting MSC. Then they buy safecoins with crowd sale money. You call people who have done these good guys?

You have time to set up Bitcoin-Qt on your machine, followed by a Masterchest wallet, so that you can view and use the MaidSafecoins (Safecoins) that are produced when the folks at MaidSafe get through processing the Bitcoins from the crowd funding.

Thanks ;-) we are processing the BTC manually now with the help of the Master Protocol team, it was a rush for sure. We had and are having a few issues with omiwallet and I think the master exchanges are having some sync issues (if you used MSC to buy in). We have everything recoded though and the blockchain does to. Pretty leading edge for sure but it's secure. That's our main priority. I hope by end of today we have all the transactions done. Omiwallet needs to sync with a system that's under stress at the moment, it will hopefully resolve soon. Anyhow we are processing the inputs and the guys should have an on line spreadsheet showing the manual orders being processed as they are done. I do know they said it was painful, I am heading to the office to see if I can help now (3am, tired staff need coffee).  This is where though the blockchain is great, we can audit everything and make sure nobody loses out.

but masterchest online does show my maidsafe bought with MSC

but my maidsafe purchased with BTC  have not been issued yet
