7950 can't get 900+ KH/s no matter what, so let's get this out of the way. If you'd pay attention, the hashrate at coinpolice was faked, some random person added there 2000 KH/s which upped the average by a lot. what should i do if i get that worse Hynix /Elpida? Just return it and buy another one?
If you got them that means that in the first place you couldn't tell which type of memory your card has, so it's pointless to return and gamble again. What you can do however, is contact this guy: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12369.0Read his post and you'll understand. If i overclock/volt and max it out completely how much less lifetime will the card have?
Dunno, never overvolted and never will so I haven't got a clue how quickly the card will burn out. But one thing is certain, you will kill your card a lot faster than it normally would and I honestly can't see a reason to overvolt.

Anyone can write down cgminer scrypt for these cards, for example can i use this scrypt for all 3 cards or do i need write something separate:
-I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1070 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-vddc 1.100
like : -I 13,13,13 -w 256,256,256 ...i dont understand how to write exactly line scrypt
-i 13,13,13 -w 256,256,256 -g 2,2,2 --thread-concurrency 8192,8192,8192 --gpu-engine 1070,1070,1070 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500,1500 --gpu-powertune 20,20,20 --gpu-vddc 1.100,1.100,1.100
Just separate with a comma the values for each card (first value is for card 0, 2nd value is for card 1, etc...) So for instance if you write this code: -i 13,18,20 --thread-concurrency 8192,16400,25550
Than card 0 will have intensity of 13 along with TC value of 8192, card 1 will have intensity of 18 along with TC value of 16400 and card 2 will have intensity of 20 along with TC value of 25550.

so can I get that hashrate? Come on dont make Me wait so long to choose card to buy?
Nobody is forcing you to wait. You opened this thread over a month ago and you could of already bought something if you were serious. Don't look at the max possible hashrate you see. Best thing for you to do is calculate the average of all the numbers you see and go under the assumption that that's what you'll get. You could be lucky and get a card with Hynix AFR which will give you better results or be unlucky and get Hynix MFR which will give you below average results (neither of which you can know before you buy the card, unless the store lets you open the box and see the S/N). For your question: Probably you could, but at what cost? (reduced longevity of the card, increased electricity bill, etc).

You can always just run it with Windows. There's really no reason why not to if it's so complicated for you to get linux up.
I got 3x R9 290 running perfectly fine under Windows 7 64bit.

Doesn't Windows 8.1 support up to 10 single gpu cores? Ergo, up to 5 of the newer modeled cards?

Hello, Could someone make full beauty tutorial for How to Install Ubuntu and Optimize CGMiner for litecoin Mining Rig, I was fallowed a lot of of tutorials but still cant make cgminer run,even some tutorials say to get cgminer-3.7.2-x86_64-built.tar.bz2 and at this moment i cant find it,i want tutorial from intalling all drivers and how to setting up cgminer, A-Z,make your tutorials if i get run perfectly in once ill pay you straighly.
It's not my tutorial (and therefor there's no reason to give me the bounty if it works), but have you tried this guide: http://highoncoins.com/litecoin-rig/how-to-install-ubuntu-and-optimize-cgminer-for-litecoin-mining-rig/Seems pretty in depth. As far as CGminer goes, you have got to use build 3.7.2 or older because newer ones don't support scrypt mining (litecoin). You could also try SGminer (4.0 and 4.1 are both fine). Also, in that tutorial he says to use the latest driver, dunno about that, but try it, if it ain't working, use 13.12.

What happened was that my R9 290 switched to status OFF, my 5850 didn't run at all, and I got a display driver error. WTF?!?!? R9 290 runs with -g 1 and you tried there to run it with 2. Make it

thanks for replies guys
i have a monitor attached currently mining w/ 2 cards so its not crossfire settings. with 3 cards i use both psus. i'll try putting one card directly on the motherboard and 2 others on 1x powered risers.
@grippy54 do u use your 1x powered risers in 1x slots, or the beginning part of your x16 slots? my board has 3 x16 slots and 2 x1 slots.
I have a 3x R9 290 rig and one of my cards is plugged directly to the x16 slot (waiting on a x16 to x16 riser) and the other 2 cards are with powered risers connected to the x1. I am also running headless.

Im hoping someone can help with this problem, I cant seem to get my r9-270x-CDFR's to run stable in cgminer 3.7.2 my conf file looks like this: "intensity" : "17", "vectors" : "1", "worksize" : "256", "thread-concurrency" : "8000", "kernel" : "scrypt", "lookup-gap" : "0", "shaders" : "1280", "gpu-engine" : "0-1125", "gpu-fan" : "0-85", "gpu-memclock" : "1500,1500", "gpu-memdiff" : "0", "gpu-powertune" : "0", "gpu-vddc" : "0.000", "temp-cutoff" : "95", "temp-overheat" : "85", "temp-target" : "70", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "120", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1", "hotplug" : "5", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "30", "scrypt" : true, "temp-hysteresis" : "3", "shares" : "0", "kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin" }
The cards are showing ~450kh/s but are throwing crazy HW errors and eventually cgminer and or windows 7 crash. When I try to set my thread-concurrency to 12000 cgminer will not start. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would be happy to tip anyone who can get me up and running. You don't need to specify shades when you specify TC, but anyway, you need to increase your TC, try something like 15232, 16384, 16640 or 15361 (shaders*n + 1 usually works best). If that doesn't help, than reduce your clocks speed back to stock and try again. Also, try and leave lookup-gap at its default value of 2.

You need a dummy plug. Yes, there are dummy plugs for 290's. Look for HDMI/displayport to VGA adapters, then make a dummy plug out of the VGA adapter. Getting a digital to analog converter is the only for sure way the thing will work, so I wouldn't try a DP/HMI to DVI adapter, even if it has the analog output pins.
Only need one per rig, luckily, because they are more expensive.
Alright, thanks. Was thinking about dummy plugs as a possible solution but wasn't sure if it was the only way. Guess there's no other way.

My rig is working properly when it comes to mining, but my desktop resolution is stuck on 640x480. I've tried various things and I can't seem to be able to make it higher and since some programs aren't designed to be viewed in such low res, I really wanna get this to work.
I tried to change the registry. Tried to play around in CCC but all options to change res are greyed out. "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" is greyed out.
Some additional information: Windows 64bit. 3x R9 290 (mining with them is just fine). No onboard display. 13.12 drivers.
Any help would be highly appreciated!

vapor-xs are undervolted and underclocked, dct2 is underclocked.
What happens when you run them at stock volts? Possible you undervolted to much?

I really just want to get my first 5 ltc, and i'm 0.03 ltc away from my first ltc, I'll pay 2 ltc to anyone with a good mining rig who helps me get to 5 ltc in 3 days, all i have at this point is my word, if you are interested please pm me and i'll give you all my contact details.
Lol. Let me get this straight, you want someone to let you farm 4.97 ltc for the price of 2ltc?... Do you often give strangers 100$ and ask them in return for only 50$?

OK… thanks. I tweaked my config and it helped, but I still have 2 problems hopefully someone can advise me on.
1. I now have 2 of the R9 290's doing 590khs. I'm pretty sure they should be doing better than that. If I raise my intensity over 13, my khs decrease.
2. My 3rd R9 290 keeps crashing windows just after the Starting Windows screen… I think when the video driver loads. When I plug a monitor into that card, I get a vertical red stripe down the screen about an inch wide.
So here is my config now:
"intensity" : "13", "vectors" : "1", "worksize" : "256", "lookup-gap" : "1", "thread-concurrency" : "24000",
"gpu-engine" : "1000", "gpu-fan" : "40-100", "gpu-memclock" : "1350", "gpu-powertune" : "20",
"temp-cutoff" : "90", "temp-overheat" : "85", "temp-target" : "80",
"api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "120", "failover-only" : true, "gpu-threads" : "1",
"log" : "5", "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "60", "temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"
Change your lookup-gap setting to: "lookup-gap" : "2", If that doesn't help increasing intensity (it should) than try using stock clocks: "gpu-engine" : "947", "gpu-memclock" : "1250", When you reduce your TC, can you increase intensity? As for your 3rd GPU, if you plug it alone to the system, in the main PCI-e slot, and it's not working than I'd put good money on that that it's a goner. Try plugging it in a different computer if you got 1 lying around (it should be the only card plugged) and see if the problem persist (don't attempt to mine, just see if it works). It it does than... you know what I'm gonna say.

You have 10% (!) reject rate, your cards run over 80c and your WU averages at 833.. If this 2400w-2500w is true.. than wooha man, each of your GPU is eating 400w-416w, that's crazy. I got 3x r9 290 and I'm getting 800wu, with 3% reject rate (on middlecoin) and my cards only eating 250w~ each (and they run at 74c-78c)...

I indeed made an error and then I changed the topic name. Currently I have 2x 6990 working and 3x 5870. But I want to add another 5870. When I do so now, the last 5870 does not POST.
You say that Linux is a possibility, do you mean Linux BAMT? I've read that only 7 GPu is the max there.
I'd like to keep using cgwatcher so its gonna be windows 8 I guess. You have any verification that 8 GPu's work with this mobo and windows 8?
Cheers,
Well, in that case, all your cards should work under windows 7 64bit, since the sum of your GPUs is exactly 8, but perhaps because you are using 6 separated cards, there's some issue with windows, because your mobo should be able to handle 6 cards without an issue so it can't be the problem. Here's the H81 Pro BTC with 6 cards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3iup26oUN4&feature=youtu.beAs for Windows 8, the verification you want is all over the net. But definitely try out Windows 8.

And your power consumption and WU are... ?

r9 290 don't use -g 2, so you need -g 1 with tc of 20481 (can vary, but this 1 works very well for me) . Intensity will also go up to 18+.
BTW, your target temp is quite high, I'm running with:
"temp-cutoff" : "90", "temp-overheat" : "85", "temp-target" : "80"
There's really no need for you to get to 90 unless you overclock, which you really shouldn't.
Did you change their volt? Cause if you did, than each needs his own tuning and that could explain why your 3rd card crashes windows.

Mine has been stuck for nearly 24 hours and another small one I transferred as a test is now stuck too. Just wondering if anyone else is having any issues. My order doesn't even show up in the blockchain.
Earlier this morning I withdraw from them without a problem. But I did hear that people who withdraw during night time (CET) encountered a lot of issues due to them updating the wallets.
