CPU's Warmed and ready to go.

Though question about the rewards...

rewards go 250 -> 10 -> 100 -> 10

Why go back up to 100?
Just curious

JJ

In preparation of the 2020 election. Good question. I am surprised it took so long to be asked. Wink

unorthodox, but hey, why not?

JJ

PS can you link to the version of sgminer your using? The only links I see are old.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632503.0

I tested with sgminer v5.0.0 but there is no reason other versions will not work.

a noob question where to hire rigs for x14

I heard there will be asics coming out for x11 - x15 pretty soon, they will be very expensive like the first bitcoin miners were, but still they are coming soon.

x11 asics are out. Shipping of the first batch is in the beginning of March. Another reason why I selected to make BERN x14 is I hope based on the shear lack of coins using the algo, asic manufactures will not see a profit in producing an x14 asic. It is a hope, yes but, I logically supported one I feel.
743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BERN] BERNcash on: February 23, 2016, 03:30:43 AM
my understanding is x14 is CPU only?

No, GPU mine-able. I was testing with sgminer, minerd, and daemon. CPU mining sees a significant increase in hash versus x15. GPU, only slightly. My thought was to give a slight 'advantage' to people that are less knowledgeable of mining or can not afford a modern GPU.

On that note, there is in-wallet CPU mining. I added this to make it easier for people that are, again, less knowledgeable of mining. Mining in two clicks. Smiley

The wallets, seed nodes, and block explorer are all sitting on the shelf. Ready for launch.

In regards to the airdrop, this is what I am pushing for because I know a lot of you want to see it happen at launch and I do not want to disappoint. I will open the airdrop at launch. This airdrop will pay 250 BERN to 10000 applications. Being that this is only 25% of the instamine, there will still be 7.5 million BERN after marketing has caught up for an additional airdrops as they see fit. I think if I do it this way, everyone should be happy. Miners, community, and my team.

I do have to step away briefly for a funeral today but, I do think I can convince my team to let me proceed with this plan.

You need to step your game up some. There is a trumpcoin now and trump fights dirty.

I am in no competition with any other developers and I do wish them the best of luck with their project and any future endeavors.
748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BERN] BERNcash on: February 21, 2016, 01:05:23 PM
If this was really a bernie coin then where is the free stuff. You should do an airdrop or some sort of system that pays users for doing nothing every day or maybe an interest rate or like a wellfare type system that pays a lump sum every week or month, just something to really make this coin unique and true to the Bernie Sanders system.

lol crypto welfare. I love it!

Right lol like it would take the POW and POS mining earnings and than equally distribute them to all users of the coin !  And maybe even impose a tax that would be redistributed to the lower wallets on the rich list. Same with any transaction fees. This coin can really be something if they can put a great unique system like this in.  Please try dev it would really make this coin stand out in the crypto world.

PoS will be evenly distributed to BERNcash holders and PoW will be proportionately distributed to BERNcash miners.

Glad to hear you have such high hopes for BERNcash and for Bernie Sanders as president. Thank you for supporting both.

Well thats obviously how POS and POW normally work, but what I'm suggesting is something that would take all the POW and POS earnings and distribute them at an equal rate to every user, in addition if a user has accumulated over a certain threshold of coin they will have a small fee imposed on their balance everyday and it will be redistributed to the group of people who own under a certain threshold of coin, same goes for any transaction fees.  When will the berncash airdrop be ? and what are the qualifications for it ?

We do hope to open the airdrop at launch and it does look like we will have sufficient time to do so. I can't say what the payout amount will be yet. I need to discuss those figures with the Bernie Sanders supporters that ask me to build BERNcash. I think it is safe to say that 25% of the instamine (2.5 million BERN) will be used for this first airdrop but, again, I am not the person that makes that final decission. 25% is the percentage we talked about previously.

The qualifications discussed were: 1) a BERN address of course. 2) verified email address. 3) geographically verified via IP address as present in the USA. 4) agreement that person entering is a USA citizen.

More criteria might be added. Some could be removed. Myself as a person do value privacy to an high level and do give that respect to all other people. It will not be my personal call to make. I will advise of my opinion to the Bernie Sanders supporters. If you have an opinion about it, please feel free to voice it. I will of course listen to any reasonable argument. What I can say is, this first of what might be many airdrops is aimed to get BERN into the hands of people that support Bernie Sanders. I do understand that one might not be a citizen and still support Bernie Sanders and I did state this to the Bernie Sanders supporters. They are of the opinion they want the airdropped coins to get in the hands of Bernie Sanders supporters that could, and hopefully do, vote for Bernie.

The supporters are not active bitcointalk users but they are aware of this thread and do read it. If you share your opinion, I will respond to it but, it is likely they will read it also.

I hope I answered your questions sufficently Brob12321. I will relay any new information that comes from my meetings as fast as possible.

3) geographically verified via IP address as present in the USA. 4) agreement that person entering is a USA citizen.

Seriously! I'm out of this i guess!
Guys, i don't want my geographical Location known and neither do i have to be a US citizen to support a crypto currency.
If only US citizens with verified documents are involved in BTC, i guess the price will be at $1 or even be dead by now.

There is no documentation required for the airdrop and the geographic restriction only applies to the airdrop and nothing else. You do not have to be a US citizen to support crypto or, for that matter, Bernie Sanders. I agree.

Any website you visit can do a simple whois query based on the visitor's IP address and do what we are going to do. You may be surprised to learn of how many websites do this to you already. The only difference is we are doing it with your knowledge.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BERN] BERNcash on: February 21, 2016, 12:55:39 PM
So you will decide on the Airdrop requirements After launch or whats going on ?
I don't like mining when there is uncertainty about the Airdrop.

The airdrop requirements are decided. Valid BERN adrress, verified email, US resident agreement, IP geolocated within the USA. What is up in the air is the number of recipients and therefore, the payout amount also. The first airdrop is only allocated 2.5 million BERN of the 10 million instamine. These things are certain.

I do understand, and do share, your dislike of the uncertainty sluppy. I do sicerly apologize for it. All I can say is the airdrop will happen. Regardless of the decisions of the number of recipients made by by the Bernie Sanders supporters and the marketing team the Bernie Sanders supporters selected. Both groups requested more time. Please do understand they are not knowledgeable of crypto currency. In fact, in the meetings, only one person other than myself has heard of bitcoin. I have spent hours explaining, to the best of my abilities, both during meetings and even one-on-one with some of the people involved.

As I have stated, personally I am no political guru nor a marketing guru. I do have to respect the other members of the BERN team in their areas of expertise and their requests of more time to better understand how to proceed with the airdrop.

Again, the only uncertainty of the BERN airdrop is the number of participants. I have considered opening the airdrop for entry at launch even if the decision is not made by that time. I would of course need approval to do that from the rest of the team that is involved. Again, I do apologize and I will report any information as soon as possible as I am eager to put this question to rest also.

I hope my explanation does give you the confidence in BERN to mine it and I do apologize on my team's behalf if it has not. If there is anything I could do that you think would put your concern to bay, please do share.

Thank you in advance for your understanding of the situation.

good luck, just wait and drinking coffee

Thank you kindly for the wish of good luck! Smiley

Here is the BERN block explorer waiting for the big day. Just doing some custom styling to it.

752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BERN] BERNcash on: February 20, 2016, 05:57:09 AM
Thought I would update everyone this evening as we cross 3 days until launch. The meeting I had scheduled with the Bernie Sanders supporters and the marketing people was canceled on Thursday. The marketing people are knowledgeable about politics and wanted more time to research crypto. I had hoped the meeting could be held today but, that did not happen. If you remember, they had brought the airdrop payout amount and number of recipients under scrutiny at the last meeting. As it stands now, the airdrop will account for 25% of the instamine, 2.5 million. How much and to how many is the question that remains. I do apologize for these decisions being made so late prior to launch.

On a more positive note, I do have the source code functionally ready. Pictured below you can see I am just styling the wallet and working out some wrinkles from moving to qt5. This styling might change prior to launch. I have been test mining with various CPU and GPU X14 miners as well as with the daemon and no issues were found. The Mac and Windows wallet will be built later closer to launch as I want to be sure I have the styling complete.

I do have two seeds ready to go and I will be adding at least one more seed node this weekend. I have the payout script ready to send airdrop payments but the front end is not yet completed. The block explorer is not yet finished but, will be tomorrow. The block explorer will be ready tomorrow. The faucet front end is not yet complete but, the payout code is ready also. I had not previously committed to the faucet being opened at launch. For that reason it is lowest on my priority list which I must stick to but, still very achievable prior to launch.

753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BERN] BERNcash on: February 18, 2016, 04:15:53 AM
Where do I sign up for the airdrop ?

The airdrop has not opened yet, risinhigher. Not until launch. 5 days and 22 hours from now.

Thank you for your interest.

Will there be a website to sign up for the airdrop and how will you gather our IP addresses?

Yes, there will be a website for airdrop applications to be submitted from. Your IP address is easily accessible by any website you visit so long as you are not behind a proxy server. Traffic from behind proxy servers will be block from the airdrop and faucet. Knowing what country an IP address is located in is a bit more difficult. We will be utilizing a reliable and well trusted third-party source via API calls for that information.

Thank you for your interest in the BERNcash airdrop.

Cryptocurrencies are supposed to be for worldwide use.  That is the main benefit of using Crypto that it is accepted everywhere around the world.  Someone can live in another country but still support Bernie's views and donate to his cause.  I am from the United States but I am just trying to argue that people can donate to Bernie's campaign from anywhere in the world not just the United States.

I personally do very much agree, Brob12321. I did bring up this point during the meetings. I am sure people in other countries do feel Bernie Sanders is the best option for the United States and would like to support that effort. Given the Unites States global impact, they do have a vested interest in who is the commander in chief. However; by decissions not made by myself and as of now, they will not participate in the airdrop.
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BERN] BERNcash on: February 17, 2016, 02:52:19 AM
As promised, I am reporting the decisions that were reached at the first meeting with myself and the Bernie Sanders supporters.

A valid BERNcash airdrop application is:

  • one with a valid BERN wallet address.
  • one that the email address has been verified from.
  • one that the IP address has been verified as within the United States.
  • one that the applicant has agreed they are a legal resident and citizen of the United States.

The BERNcash airdrop application will be blocked from mobile devices and any device is behind a proxy server. IP addresses and/or IP address ranges that are proven to be trying to submit fraudulent applications will be blocked. It is important to understand this airdrop is specifically aimed at those who are Bernie Sanders supports. That is why the requirement of residency and citizenship is asked and only applies to the airdrop. No documentation will be asked of.

There was later a second meeting that also included marketing. During this second meeting the airdrop payout amount and number of recipients of the airdrop came under further scrutiny. The marketing team and the Bernie Sanders supporters requested more time before committing to the airdrop payout amount and number of recipients.

Happy Presidents' Day!
How exactly will you verify we are a legal resident?

We can not without invading into one's privacy. No documentation will be requested. The applicant will be asked if they are a legal resident and citizen. Nothing will stop them from lying but dignity for this criteria.
and for non us resident no airdrops ?

That is correct. There will be a faucet that will not have this restriction.
not good , faucet is not for me  Cool
i thought you will give it at least for full member+ .It will be also as another airdrops ,some people will use vpn server with us ip ,and for real users nothing .Ok good luck with your  project

Sorry if I was unclear. The faucet will be open for everyone. The airdrop is the only thing that will have the geographic restrictions. If anyone has any ideas of how I can prevent false airdrop recipients, please do share via this thread or PM.

Thank you for your wishes of good luck, lxxtikk.
