7542  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyroll's 10 BTC giveaway is a scam, he sent me and others a phishing link on: May 14, 2013, 08:08:40 AM
I'm not sure, but if you use the same password it's better to be safe if you have any money floating around.
7543  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyroll's 10 BTC giveaway is a scam, he sent me and others a phishing link on: May 14, 2013, 08:02:48 AM
Same here, I hadn't even made an account on BT-E really so I'm lucky in a totally different way lol Tongue

Woh, that's just fucking low, I'm glad I clicked on my personal bookmark and not the link, I almost got tricked too Sad and here I thought that person was being honest, from now on I'm going to have to assume now every person doing a giveaway or lottery is a scammer and that's sad really.

Are you saying that casascius coins are a poorly designed concept?  Because if so, I would disagree.  I think I may have mis-read your post though.

No, I think Casascius coins are brilliant, what I'm saying is that if there were any knockoffs or forgery attempts then they'd be that badly designed that most of us would spot them.
7546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the best way to let customers know that your business accepts bitcoin? on: May 13, 2013, 08:49:10 PM
Just keep having the symbols around, it works the same as if you put mastercard or visa symbols on your websites, I know I've noticed it when sites I've regularly visited have decided to accept Bitcoins.
7547  Economy / Economics / Re: Dont play satoshi dice btw on: May 13, 2013, 08:27:45 PM
I'd feel more worthwhile spending my Bitcoins on strippers and porn.
7548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My wife and I are starting a preserved goods store using bitcoinstore.com on: May 13, 2013, 06:00:33 PM
You could also use Bitmit if you're looking for more options to sell stuff for Bitcoins, there's also stuff like Bitshop if you want to run your own website.
7549  Other / Off-topic / Re: GYFT.COM: wonder why you'd never heard of it before? on: May 13, 2013, 04:46:18 PM
I don't know what you mean by honeypot? I know of honeytrap which is a term used for female agents who seduce victims so they can get intelligence from them for whoever they work for Tongue I do know what you mean by the site though, that's clearly either a data farming operation ( which is borderline illegal ) or it installs extremely dodgy software that can create an entry point to your computer without you knowing. This is why I don't trust anything that has DRM on it and forces you to connect to a server.

I don't even trust many free BTC sites, why would they give away such a low amount of BTC? I think they're trying to harvest peoples retrieval addresses like they do with emails, all they need is to know is that you're a real person and have something to connect to.
7550  Other / Off-topic / Re: Over 385,000 BTC worth of money stolen by hackers! on: May 13, 2013, 04:42:05 PM
Should I sell all of my dollars until this security flaw is fixed?

No worries. You're covered by insurance. You know, unlike Bitcoin.

Insurance that's covered by a hackable currency? Cheesy

Stop trying to re-invent mathematics, I already have enough trouble learning the original stuff >_<
7552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: May 13, 2013, 10:50:44 AM
Think about the amount of people who would want the person who destroyed their wealth and wrecked a system that has benefited them for a century dead let alone the Federal Reserve and it's easy to see why he remains anonymous. I'm just grateful that he came up with a solution to generations constantly stealing the wealth from their children that didn't involve blood.
7553  Economy / Goods / Re: bitcoin auction and selling sites on: May 13, 2013, 09:03:37 AM
Cheesy It isn't that macs are crap, it's that they often have compatibility issues because when it comes to apple they seem to DRM the shit out of everything they own, even more so than Microsoft, so much so that it's going to affect people like you if you try to run something that wasn't designed for a mac layout etc. my website writing shouldn't be obscured by the way. Haven't had complaints from other people so it seems like it's something to do with your computer if that's happening there as well.

Here's a link to a piece I put up, I'm going to be finishing another one this week: https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/31253-cz-necklace-gemstone-set-with-the-point-facing-outwards
7554  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Isn't solo mining better for the Bitcoin network? on: May 13, 2013, 08:57:05 AM
I think mining will eventually be something that someone will do for the fun of it and to occasionally get lucky, I think yes, certainly solo mining is more advantageous for the network but a lot of people who are mining are purely in it for the money so they won't do it and scream at anyone who does. It does concern me sometimes how centralised Bitcoin is becoming in some areas, it certainly doesn't help as well that people on this forum insist on trolling anyone who asks for help with tech stuff regarding solo mining.
7555  Economy / Economics / Re: Japanese Economy Collapsing - effect on MtGox on: May 13, 2013, 08:27:43 AM
People rely on MT.GOX too much, time to start getting serious about adopting Bitcoins like the Germans are Tongue
7556  Economy / Goods / Re: bitcoin auction and selling sites on: May 13, 2013, 07:48:06 AM
LOL I was wondering what the hell was going on and then you said you're using a mac, I'd keep talking to support about it but I'm using Windows and Waterfox and I've had no problems at all categorising my stuff, I'm putting up Jewellery too.
7557  Other / Off-topic / Re: Over 385,000 BTC worth of money stolen by hackers! on: May 13, 2013, 05:41:11 AM
Bitcoin user not affected Cheesy
7558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The economic impact of too many physical bitcoins on: May 13, 2013, 04:51:58 AM
In order for the physical bitcoins to have value they'd have to have Bitcoins actually on them and if you look at the way people like Casascius have done it then the physical Bitcoins would only be worth as much as the physical metal they were made with. Nevermind all the security stuff behind Bitcoin and the physical coins, you'd have to peel off the hologram to take the Bitcoins so even if counterfeiters managed to make fakes it would be extremely difficult to pull off.

I'm pretty sure anything else would be a cheap copy and would get called out immediately.
7559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How rich are the richest Bitcoiners? on: May 13, 2013, 04:21:48 AM
I find mining fucking tedious, I'd much rather sell stuff for Bitcoins and have fun on my computer and be known for that rather than talk about how many hashes I'm doing all day Tongue I think miners are becoming the new financial traders sometimes. If I were rich, I wouldn't let something like the blockchain show exactly how many Bitcoins I have and I'd transfer my stuff if I ever needed to in small amounts so it wouldn't be so easy to notice.
7560  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you do? on: May 12, 2013, 01:59:59 PM
home learning student slowly going towards being self-employed.

I'm studying artwork and how to make silver/gold jewellery, when I get tired of this I have a look at OpenGL and Japanese Cheesy
