761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 24, 2023, 01:35:00 PM
I think AI could be used as a way to help minimize the addiction on gambling. I don't know much about the technical side of this but my idea is that AI could be a way to assess each individuals habit and probably finances since it could suggest ways to make you not lose all your money and as well not be addicted since there are signs before you reach that.
762  Economy / Economics / Re: Replacement? on: March 24, 2023, 01:13:45 PM
In conclusion, while cryptocurrencies have certainly gained a lot of momentum and popularity, their future as a replacement for physical money and as the primary medium of exchange in our everyday lives is still uncertain. It will depend on factors like regulatory acceptance, stability, and widespread adoption.

I agree and I think it would really take time before we could see physical money to be fully replaced bycryptocurrencies. Yes, cryptos' are gaining popularity but majority would think of it immediately as something technical and overwhelming. I think people would take time to absorb the technicalities of this. Government also plays a role in this as majority of countries are still hesitant to whether use it as a currency. But is is a good thing that some countries are now legalizing it since it would become a great way for other to see its advantage and disadvantage as well.
763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 22, 2023, 03:55:14 PM
I was recently browsing the internet on a topic as to why cryptocurrency gambling games are so addictive. This topic is not only about online crypto gambling please do remember this before replying.

While going through multiple websites for my topic I found out that the online gambling industry has been growing rapidly. The growth has been significant as in 2021 the global online gambling industry size was recorded at $61.5 Billion, whereas it went up to $79.8 Billion in 2022. The rise as per my understanding is significant.

While going through different websites I stumbled upon many websites which were about the top most played games in online casinos in 2021-2022. I have listed down the top 4 most played games below but my question is which one of these do you consider to be a game of skill or a game of chance?

  • Slots
  • Balckjack
  • Baccarat
  • Poker

I think Slots is a game of chance and Poker is a game of skills. Do you agree?

I agree since if you think, when playing slots you are just simply there waiting for results, no strategy involved, just pure play of luck. Thus, it is indeed a game of chance, where there is no slightest guarantee of win when you analyze it. On the other hand, Poker is a game where you can assess the game and have a bet that is from your experience and skill with the game. Although, we might say that luck also is a part of it, we can still classify it as a game of skill since basically you can apply your skills to it in order for you to win.
764  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 22, 2023, 03:02:30 PM
Higher education is more aimed at companies that require ability and intelligence in order to get the expected salary for someone
but for entrepreneurs I don't think it's so important because in entrepreneurship persistence, self-taught creative ideas can be used as a basis for starting a business you don't need higher education
When talking about higher education that is obtained formally then of course a diploma will not be very useful in entrepreneurship. but knowledge gained from formal education is also needed in building entrepreneurship. because after all insight is needed in building a business.

I agree since it is very essential that you know what entrepreneurship is and basically how to run businesses. It isn't just simple things since there are some technical aspects with regards to this such as analysis of the market and taxes. A degree of course would be of great help to entrepreneurs since they have first hand knowledge that they can use to lead their company. Although, it isn't necessary, you can make these as an advantage so that your company would continue to strive and excel in the market.
765  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is for the important things on: March 21, 2023, 08:50:10 AM
As long as the money doesn't cause me stress, that's enough for me. Although the more money you have, the more options you have and the more things you can do. And, yes, I often prefer to spend it on experiences, like with people I care about, rather than on things like cars and clothes, as you mention.

In reality, the car is often the biggest source of financial stress, especially for the middle class, and this is something that many people do not realise. Never buy a car to show off, get one that is reliable and that you can afford.
I never intend to buy a car when alone, but I have no choice now because of my family, car makes things easier if you are no more alone, you will be able to drive your kids down to school and I am living in a newly developed area, very far to the city, there is no comfortable way to live in this area without any means of transportation, I don't regret buying one, if I manage to make some good amount of money someday I will definitely buy a extra ride, one for my self and one for my partner.

Yes, it is right that car is really helpful for families for those where the school or the stores are far from their home. Just always consider your financial stability when going into investing like these. As long as you can afford it, just buy it since money is meant to be used for the things that would be helpful to us and/or would make us feel good. But, the point that middle class often had financial stress when buying thing is a valid point since most of them do not consider their financial capability when going into deals of buying cars. This is not a good move especially when the only reason why you pushed yourself on buying these is to show off. It is much better to be financially sound without having car than be stressed while having a car. The main point is that we should continue to strive to be financially capable and be able to buy the things for ourselves that is within our financial capacity so that stressed would not come our way.
766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 21, 2023, 08:16:39 AM
money i can afford to lose is so small for me that if it will be 100xed then also I will make profit very small
what is the meaning of this  "invest only what you can afford to lose" ?
you also invested this small part of your savings(not talking about wealth) in bitcoin, I don't think many of you invested money that can not impact your life if all gone.
and also please share some very rock solid points that investing in bitcoin is profitable, and non losable in long term, we don't know if other satoshi came out in 1-2-3 years later(just an less probability thought)

also tell about my english(feedback kind of) when i read my sentences, i feel this is very bad english.

I think that what is meant by the phrase “invest only what you can afford to lose” is to not invest the money that is meant for important things such as emergency savings and the personal expenses that you need to live. I think, we should keep in mind that in the world of investment in cryptocurrencies, the larger you invest the larger the profit or loss you could have. You should be trying to fully understand the economy since there are really some signs regarding the volatility of the cryptos. Also, regarding the profitability, I think, if you consider to invest as of this writing and then hold it for long time, you could see a profit if you are just persistent with your investment because this would really take time.
767  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 21, 2023, 07:45:11 AM
We really like to play gambling online , and there are lot of crypto gambling sites out there ,
many times i doubted the provably fair system,  that these casinos are cheating me, but what can i do ,
i come across this YouTube video that a biggest gambling site supervisor telling the truth about these sites,
that they analyze our bets and try to make us lose ,
what are your thoughts ,
i know provably system but many times i doubted it, i don't know this person is talking about crypto gambling or not but may be it also applies in crypto gambling.
most of you also may doubted the casino ,
video: https://youtu.be/ABj7peI_R2M

I think this is something that I am not shocked to know since online gambling can be manipulated since there is a system that you do not fully understand how it works. Online gambling sites could probably use these tactics of making hard for the players to win since they want them to feel the adrenaline of losing so that they would want to play more. Also, these companies want to earn, and making it online makes it easier to manipulate and be susceptible to tricks. So, I think this is the reality with the online gambling scene.

768  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: March 20, 2023, 10:31:22 PM
Yes, I think you can be financially independent through cryptocurrencies but do not expect it to happen in just a blink of an eye. You must consider that investing in this wont always guarantee a profit. But, if you approach it with a right and planned approach, if you assess the economy and the prices, you might get the results that you want. It would never be easy to achieve it since being financially independent requires you to have a steady cash flow in which you can use the money in anything you want. This may take time, but for me, it is achievable, just be adaptive to the changes in the economy.
769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: March 20, 2023, 03:28:52 PM
In my opinion, I think referral bonuses are typically waste of one's time because of its processes that seems so impossible to claim and recently I came across a thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437603.0 seeking for Casinos with paid referral bonuses and I tool out time to read most of the responses there and they all seem impossible to claim referral bonuses.
I wish to know if anyone has successfully claimed referral bonuses and how easy was the process and what Casino did you claim those bonuses

I think for those who really have time to do those thing, It won't be a waste for them. But, to be perfectly honest, personally I would not want to do those refer type of work, since it heavily relies on how many people can you persuade to use the app or website. Also, it pays a little amount and some end up to be just scam, so it is quite hard to dedicate yourself to achieve certain quotas.
770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: March 20, 2023, 02:51:49 PM
Strategy doesn't work if you stay in gambling for long time. Most gamblers can't seem to hold their money when they keep losing bets again and again. After that they continue gambling randomly until they make a new deposit. Strategy doesn't determine luck but plays an important role in getting closer to the luck. In this case some strategies may be effective and some may not.

I agree since although we could have the most planned strategy in gambling, I think that it wont last since every event has completely random chances and result. Luck is a random thing that our mind often thinks as something that is innate on us. There might be situation that your strategy leads to win consecutively, but I think this wont last. So probably, you can just continuously adapt but at the end of the day, it is a game of luck and it still rely on its randomness.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: March 19, 2023, 11:01:49 PM
Strategy doesn’t affect luck because it’s a complete random and no one can determine or measure luck scientifically. Strategy can make you last longer since you can manager your bank roll properly and staying longer in the game will gave more chance to be exposed on luck but take note that house edge is taking effect more that will put you in advantage.

Hitting a beginners luck and quit immediately to take profit is the best thing to do. Strategy is just a way to have a better exposure on luck but it doesn’t increase your luck to win frequently.

I agree since there is no scientific method that would explain how luck works. Personally, I see luck as a mindset that we embedded on ourselves in seeing the outcomes of anything. We set our minds that when it goes on our way, it is due to luck, when it can be seen as completely random event. Yes, as you go on being exposed to the betting activity, I think strategy can be used but at the end it would just rely on the randomness of it. I agree that it wont make you have a higher chance on winning since it is still random.
772  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: March 19, 2023, 10:16:27 PM
The cost of living in all countries has at least doubled in two years - at almost the same level of wages. The main question is how to curb the rise in prices? Soft policy does not work here anymore. Money devalues more and more every day. This is fact.

This is the same with my country as we are now facing the worst inflation rate. However, even though prices go up faster every month, our country is so incompetent that they can't increase the wage. Meaning the level of wages isn't moving but the prices of goods are moving very fast. This is hard since you can't catch up and your purchasing power decreases every month. I just hope our government do something to address this.
773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of the world population involved in gambling on: March 18, 2023, 11:48:50 PM
How true is this?
Sometimes I found it's arguably, most time not reason being that out of the world populations 60% to 80% of it dominance and occupancies love sports and you know what this mean, 30% out of the 70% love gaming.

Now let say something very striking

Sports creates ways for gambling
Gaming gives raise to gambling

This simply means there is no way the world can be divided into two or three equal parts without finding that people gambles regularly and almost everyone is involved one way or the other, from my research on gambling it has been existing right from Origin of man.

Result from wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambling#History

I think this is true since in my country, I often see people gamble through different ways. I think this widespread of people engaged in gambling is mostly due to their want to earn more so they are willing to gamble their money to get more. I can consider it popular in my country since we can see it to be embedded in our culture since it is often portrayed in movies and series, so most people have idea about it. So, it is no doubt that most of the population would be involved in gambling since even in the smallest event, gambling activity can be seen like when there are friend gathering where they often play card games that involved minimal amount of money.
774  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: March 18, 2023, 10:25:47 PM
No one is able to avoid the process of correction or recovery in bitcoin, rising and falling prices are processes that we will encounter in the market, for some people who are familiar with bitcoin, rising and falling prices are natural because of fluctuations. So stay calm and don't worry about this problem, because the power of bitcoin has been proven to be able to recover prices in following cycles.

The concept of bitcoin runs by itself and decentralization is a way of working that makes it more dominant, starting from the utilization of investments to maintaining the value of the investment you make.

I agree with this, we have seen how bitcoin manage to soar a high price then eventually crash to its current value. I think this is normal since cryptocurrencies are known to be volatile, so if ever the price crashes, you just have to assess why is it happening. Since, at the first place, you should be employing the rule to yourself that any money that you invest in cryptos are those money you should afford to lose. Crashes won't really affects you rather it would be a great opportunity to buy since bitcoin is known to recover from this crashes. So, it would all boils down to how great you plan your finances since if you don't put all your money in investing bitcoin, it won't be a problem when this happens.
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical gambling and internet gambling which is more fun. on: March 18, 2023, 03:19:11 PM
My first experience with gambling was in person but it hasn't really influenced my personal preference for playing online. I think it just depends on your personality. I'm a rather introverted type of guy, I'd 100% choose to spend the day in my house doing whatever the hell I want if possible compared to going out on trips and whatnot. Not to say that I wouldn't go out, just that I prefer staying inside, it's not really related to my gambling habits or anything, I reckon I'd do the same stuff whether it was online or not really.

We are the same since I'm an introvert and I often get intimidated on trying out things especially that gambling is something that most would think is a bad influence since most get addicted to it. I would definitely prefer online gambling given it has all the features and security that you can access while staying at home. However, we could never see online gambling to be more preferred by majority since physical offers you to be in the moment and to actually see it in person.
776  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest "Snoop Dogg x Roobet" | 5 Categories - $7500 in prizes! on: March 13, 2023, 05:46:26 AM
@Twentyonepaylots

Shouldn't the use of A.I in creating artwork be prohibited in the first place regardless of whether it is included in the fine print of the contest?

If these artworks are proven to be A.I generated images, maybe I can understand a bit if they've just put some effort to edit those extra limbs, mouth lines or whatever extras that makes the artworks suspicious. Because, still, that is considered an effort. Undecided
Yeah, perhaps there should be need of progress images i.e. screenshots or WIP images coz with AI capabilities surging at the moment, we might lose this kind of contest.

I'd like to get the attention of Hhampuz to revise the mechanics of this contest. Using an art generation platform should be prohibited as it defeats the sole purpose of this contest which is to bring out its participants creativity. Also, the judges should be aware of such art presented to them.

Can I ask if the works of AI are accepted? I hope not this time.
Hell no! That would be a recipe for a disaster especially to those people who put a lot of their time and effort to create a digital artwork from scratch. And I think that's a blatant disrespect.

But why ask though? Are there any instances where people from previous Roobet contests submitted an A.I generated digital artwork?

I'm not 100% sure, but I have a hunch that this is AI art.

As you can see on the mouth part there are two mouth lines. There are no work-in progress images, so it made me think that way.

I'd like to add this one here. Since someone already opened the topic. There are multiple anomalies in this image, the kangaroo having 3 legs and 3 ears. This user actually won in another contest with what I think is also an AI generated image.

this is the one where he won.

Every day it seems like I see a new article about another guy being potentially available for a trade with the Lakers. Today it’s “Ice” Trae Young. I gotta admit it would be interesting to see how well Trae would shoot from the arch if LeBron was dishing him wide open passes. I think any development there would be in the off-season though. It seems to me like the Lakers aren’t going to pull the trigger on a big move to try and get a championship this season, but I wouldn’t mind being surprised.
Trae Young would be an upgrade for the Lakers coz I really think they lack of some outside shooters. Lakers path this season wouldn't be that much surprising either way, be a champion or just another ordinary team. Even Lebron himself in Lakers does not make a huge impact for the team to win, he can't carry his team these days  Roll Eyes I'm a fan of him but I don't see him winning a ring this season. A complete Celtics would beat them up easily without AD. Sacramento would make a close them game to Lakers despite not having that all star in the team. But I still gamble on Lakers' game lol.
