761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have I joined at the wrong time? on: November 26, 2018, 07:14:08 AM
There is no wrong time, there is only wrong or no information before stepping on. Many people do not do their own research, they just blindly invest  into sh*t coins as per other people advise.

Iwould say this is not how you make money in crypto, by just bying a coin in pennies and hope it goes to $1. $1 mark means nothing when you dont consider the supply, market cap, historic data for that coin, road map, team, partnerships, real world use case, community, market sentiment etc
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is completing another cycle - when the sun sets it always rises again on: November 26, 2018, 07:05:13 AM
I bought some more Btc today. Nobody can say with certainty whether we hit the bottom - too many unknown variables in this market. Only time will tell. Since I bought in that low, I'll just hold it until I hit my number which could take several years. I think the best thing to do is to buy in low like right now and just hold for a few years. Historically, Bitcoin has gone down 80 - 90% before and always recovered. Let's see what happens.
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about new coins? on: November 25, 2018, 01:21:51 PM
New coins are interesting only if the project behind them has a real utility. BTC market dominance is 54.3% right now. Because of this when BTC goes down other cryptos follow. So atm even if a project has a good real-world use case the value of that coin will still go down along with BTC.
XRP and Ethereum have gained huge market cap but they are still far away from #1 position.
When BTC will go down to 30% market dominance things will change and other cryptos will break away from btc.
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Miners Come Back to Bitcoin Network? on: November 24, 2018, 11:38:04 AM
If the price drops below $4k, the panic could happen again and the price would drop much more.
Most miners will stop mining because it wont be profitable if the price drops below $4k.

However, prive will recover sooner or later as adoption rate will increase with the time, even if the price will recover slowly.
765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Game Over for Bitcoin? on: November 24, 2018, 11:34:10 AM
I don't think this is a game over for Bitcoin and cryto, generally. The lower it goes, the more people will buy it in hopes for it to reach 20k again. It will probably find a balance somewhere between 1000 and 2000.

For now Btc needs to increase its adoption rate, even if this would mean that the price to stabilize at much lower values as the one people were used to see in late 2017, yearly 2018.
766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be more stable in the future? on: November 23, 2018, 05:24:50 AM
If you want a stable coin why don't you just go for Tether? Ethereum has not been and will never be a stable coin. Most people still speculate a lot around Eth and price will fluctuate a lot.

When/if bull run will come, I think ETH will be one of the altcoins with the most impressive price recoveries, as it is still one of the best altcoins on the market. But from here, till stable coin there is a long way.
767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your expectations for ICOs in 2019? on: November 23, 2018, 05:16:20 AM
2018 has been a bloodbath with coins losing 95-99% of their value. Doubt anyone can advise you to buy anything in a 10 month downtrending market where most have gotten rekted.

For 2019 I think it's better to do your own research, as people advices in a market where most of investors lost a lot is not the better option.
768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH fail 2018?! on: November 22, 2018, 07:12:56 AM
ETH is still an altcoin, and from previous experiences, during long bearish periods altcoins lose much more of their value than Btc. ETH didn't do any exception from this rule.

However, during bullish periods strong altcoins behave better than btc and their price increase can be huge. It is all about market sentiment. If bearish market will continue, I think we can see 1 ETH at less than 100$, otherwise it will be through the coins with most important recovery imho.
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have I joined at the wrong time? on: November 22, 2018, 07:08:22 AM
It depends on what are you comparing to. If you invested in cryto this is, it is definitely better than having invested in late 2017, january 2018, when most of the coins reached their ATH.

If you compare with early adopters who invested 5 years ago, then yes, you're a bit late, as they can sell on a market with 1k $ value of Btc and still have a nice profit.
770  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is not the end of bitcoin on: November 22, 2018, 07:03:06 AM
Bitcoin is honestly the closest thing to the ideal currency in this global world. The problem? The people of this flat world definitely not ready for this currency so let's stick with the dirty dollar.

I believe that in several years adoption rate will increase and price will stabilize at more higher values.
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be replace by ALTS in the future? on: November 21, 2018, 07:16:26 AM
Bitcoin will nit be replaced by any altcoin anytime soon due to its popularity and mostly the stability it proves during bearish periods comparing with altcoins that lose much mire if their value.

Cryto is very unusual, so no matter what people say, everything is possible on this market. Bitcoin can reach new ATHs or it can be replaced by another altcoin, as well. However, during this difficult times, I would bet on stable coins.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My altcoins are down... by a lot on: November 21, 2018, 07:09:08 AM
Hi,
So I’ve invested a bit of money into altcoins about a year ago, and did a bit of trading but then slowly lost the track of it... Until today, where I found my ledger in my closet and decided to give it another look.
So here I am now looking at my coins , and thinking on what to do... Hold on? Sell?...
I’ve got:

KMD EDG MSP

I’m down about 60% of my investment.

Any advice is appreciated!

EDIT: Yeah my entries are all super high tbh haha

EDIT 2:I’ve got quite a bit of faith in MSP & KMD Not sure about EDG though

Sorry for your lost, mate. In general you shouldnt be holding any altcoins right now because you will get absolutely burned.

What you can do ( or should try to do ) is hold stable coins or fiat. This way you are positioning yourself in such a manner that you are hedging against BTC. This means that you will be able to purchase more BTC ( and more altcoins ) once the market sentiment changes.

For example if you cashed out at $6000 with 1 BTC and buy back when ( if ) the price hits $3000 you will have 2 BTC.

Watching your funds burn slowly over time isnt the best way to do things. Just my opinion though
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies will make you rich overnight? on: November 20, 2018, 03:55:03 PM
You could have become rich overnight if you had invested before 2017 and had sold by the end of 2017 / beginning of 2018. Nowadays it's almost impossible to get rich overnight as market as more mature and more stable, even if stable means lower prices for most of the coins.

However, I'm confident you can still become rich from crypto but … not overnight.  Smiley
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ⚡⚡⚡ BITCOIN for Long-term investment ⚡⚡⚡ on: November 20, 2018, 03:45:24 PM
What people don't understand is that Bitcoin as many other assets (investment funds, stocks etc.) has good and bad times. This has nothing to do with its value or potential, but that's the way investments market works.

You can have a look to IT stock crisis in early 2000s and you will find a lot of similitudes with Bitcoin. Personally, I believe in Btc and blockchain's potential and I'm sure that price will recover in the future.
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: It's time to sell on: November 20, 2018, 07:15:21 AM
I'm not spreading FUD and everyone is free to do whatever he wants. After all, it's your money.

What I'm suggesting here is to take all the tokens and coins you're holding and start reading the whitepaper, check the roadmap, see the team behind that project and how active the developers are is by looking at the GitHub repository. If it's not looking that good, don't think twice, just go and sell regardless of initial buy price because you'll be cutting your losses this way.

I understand that saying "hodl" is nice etc but you should use your brain and don't be blinded by the idea that every useless out there will go to the moon. Only a few are worth investing in so instead of holding random coins, you may want to target something that has been here for a long time and still doing well such as ETH, BTC.

I totally agree with you, mate. To have a real value a coin needs to be adopted and be useful for a reason. But most of the coins are nothing more than pump and dump schemes with a story behind named Whitepaper.

Personally, I won't invest more than 10-15% of my funds in anything else than Btc and Eth. Even these 2 are not used as we would want to, so the price to consolidate, hiw could be the rest used/bought/traded if the overall money in cryto is decreasing every day? We leave different times for crypto.
776  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we wait for a big drop in BTC? on: November 20, 2018, 07:09:11 AM
It's already 4.6k, sobthe answer is yes. Personally, I think that the dip will continue the next days as the installed panick is significant and people will continue to liquidate their crypto.

However, nobody knows for sure what will happen to Btc in the future. It could go to 1k, but it could reach the 20k ATH as well.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the true believers of Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2018, 06:58:45 AM
I'm a true believer and I also believe that BTC is real money no doubt. But it was overrated in the past 2 - 3 years, everybody sold everything to invest in this shit and it pumped to $20K. Now fools don't have money left to invest and it's price is draining day by day. In my opinion the real bitcoin price is around 2K which is due to circulation of bitcoin on different sites the 5K price is being held by fools who have sold everything to invest. so it will drop more because no one is going or have to invest in this. That's it..
778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever regret having gotten into Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2018, 01:56:04 PM
All you need to understand is that you lost nothing until you sell. If you don't panic sell, you'll be rewarded for your patience as Bitcoin will recover sooner or later.

Yes, things can become stressful, as crypto change a lot since end of 2017 but still, good coins (Bitcoin included) will recover sooner or later.
779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your bounty tokens? on: November 19, 2018, 01:53:44 PM
It all depends on how the project evolves. I still have bounty tokens from a few of the projects I hold signatures or helped with translations, but also I have projects where I sold every single token as I felt the development was not the same as before ICO.

There is not a good or bad decision here, it's all up to you and your feeling about each project you are involved.
780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin research, need your help! on: November 19, 2018, 01:49:56 PM
Hi guys,

I am currently working on a research on bitcoin and to proceed, I need some answers as to people's motivation behind investing in bitcoin. Could you folks please help me by answering my questions? Would appreciate your comments!

Q1. What are your main reasons for investing on bitcoin?

Q2. What do you use bitcoins for?

Q3. Where do you see bitcoin headed going into the future?

Q4. What are your main concerns while holding bitcoins? Do you fear the backlash from society, environment (online/offline), safety features, regulations, market factors, etc.?

Thanks all!

Hi mate,

Q1 - I invest into Bitcoin as it is part of the technology and technology will raise in price over time
Q2 - For now I just hodl my Bitcoins and don't intend to panic sell even if the price is low.
Q3 - Personally, I see Btc reaching again its ATH sooner or later and even exceeding 20k.
Q4 - I was very stressed with the options I had for keeping my holdings. After having bought a Ledger nano S, all these fears vanished.
