581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep the BitCoins Safe? on: February 08, 2019, 06:55:09 AM
Hack and Hacks, every day I am waking up to the news of crypto exchanges getting hacked, recently a crypto exchanges founder died and he seem to have a hold of $190 million worth of BitCoins with him.
I have taken a pledge of never using a custodial exchanges, even if it is Binance, and not matter how much CZ says that he will keep the cryptos SAFU, I am not doing the mistake of keeping my money at stake.

I did a detailed study of what exchanges to use and what wallets to use -

  • Exchanges - Instant exchanges only, Changelly, ChangeNow, CoinSwitch etc.
  • Wallets - Divided into two parts - Ledger NANO S for long term investment, and keeping the funds safe, MultiCurrency wallet for trading, ex - Gaurda Wallet, Exodus Wallet

Let me know what you guys think.

It's ridiculous to me that so many people left their coins on the exchange lol like why not protect them in a private wallet?

Also there's a lot of questions surrounding the validity of his death certificate...everything about this is just super shady.

Hardware wallet is the best option to keep your crypto.
582  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exit exchanges or true story on: February 07, 2019, 06:57:27 AM
We may not know if the 26,000 bitcoins are lost due to the Canadian exchange CEO passing away. But if they are doing an exit scam how can we calculate the Bitcoin scarcity. We really can't. One the CEO holds 26k Bitcoin n they r lost forever. Or the exit scam says the Bitcoins still exist. And is being exchange for cash. On another note Bitcoin is gonna have a slight crash due to the CEO story? Hodler will sell on the news because of fud

I'm wondering how a guy with Crohn's Disease came to the decision that going on vacation in India would be a good idea?

Like someone with severe asthma going on vacation in Kaifeng, China. Doesn't add up.
583  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Effect of A Massive HODL Campaign on: February 07, 2019, 06:55:10 AM
If you were able create a widespread campaign where the vast majority of traders and HODLers could hold their Bitcoin for 30 days, what would be the effect?  Would the dramatically reduced trade-able supply boost the price or would low liquidity ultimately hurt the price?

If people would hold more their Btc instead of panic selling it,  price would definitively increase.  Demand would remain more or less the same but the offering will decrease significantly.  This would automatically translate into a price increase.
584  Other / Archival / Re: What's your all time favorite cryptocoin? on: February 07, 2019, 06:52:20 AM
Overall favorite crypto coin is definitely Bitcoin, as its stability compaed with other coins and popularity is hard to overtake.

From altcoins the favorite here is Ethereum. When ICOs market will recover, ETH will have an important increase as most of ICOs are still based on ETH.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Decentralized Exchanges on: February 07, 2019, 06:47:44 AM
You should  learn a lesson from what happened to QuadrigaCX and stop keeping important amounts of crypto into exchanges.

According to his wife, the CEO died of (unexpectedly?) of Crohn's disease which btw must be a living hell to have.

And somehow, the investors never had a contingency plan that included a second or third person having access the vault keys. Brutal mistake.
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a reason to stay? on: February 06, 2019, 06:55:56 AM
I'm in crypto for longterm, so I'm not very influenced by the price fluctuations on short and middle terms.

If price goes up, I'm glad that the holdings I already have jncrease their value. When it goes down I'm usually prepared with some fiat to buy more at a discounted price.
587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market will be recovery current year 2019 ? on: February 06, 2019, 06:52:56 AM
It is possible that the market to recover a bit in 2019 compared with last year. But if you expect new ATHs you might be disappointed as it can take years for this to happen. Crypto is much mature nowadays and price is much stable, even if it stabilized at lower levels.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When market on blood bath condition.what do you do? on: February 06, 2019, 06:49:55 AM
As long as you are still a crypto believer there is no reason to panic no matter what happens to the price on short-middle term.

If price goes up, be happy for the holdings you already have.  Price goes down, see this an opportunity to accumulate more with discount.
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty /investment strategies on: February 06, 2019, 06:47:22 AM
As a bounty Hunter or an investor, what are the criterias you apply in choosing which bounty campaign to do or ico project to invest on?
What is your strategy to making more bitcoin ?

When bounty is over I reevaluate the project, its potential,  already fulfilled milestones, team's involvement into future developments and I make a decision to keep the coins or to change them into btc.

Do a lot of research before choosing a bounty program or ICO as most of them are today just ordinary scams.
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Predictiing Cryptocurrency price.. Is it possible? on: February 05, 2019, 06:55:56 AM
Nobody can peedict price of cryptocurrency as it is very volatile  and price can fluctuate a lot over time. I've dropped my early 2017 bag slightly after the burst of the bubble, wasn't the top, but wasn't that bad either.

Although, I'm planning to load up later this year for the new season (upcoming 1-2 years). Overall, I just like to gamble and I don't really care if I will lose this amount of money in the end.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holders will betray bitcoin one day on: February 05, 2019, 06:46:33 AM
I truly believe that everyone  will betray bitcoin sooner or later. The problem is that all the 'benefits' of bitcoin don't exist. They are not secure, transactions are not fast, and they are not anonymous. Their decentralisation, which was one of their selling points, worked so badly against them that they heralded potential chances at centralisation (thus making them even more pointless).

They were moved from a 'budding technological breakthrough' to a 'store of value'. Unfortunately they don't have any store of value - their value comes *solely* from the hope of them selling them to someone who hopes to sell them to someone else who will hope to sell them to someone else. Eventually someone will be left who has nobody to sell it to. Once you heard about them globally, you had already missed the boat.
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Real Solution to Dumping on: February 04, 2019, 06:38:16 AM
Devs should stop blaming bounty hunters for dumping ,they work hard to promote your projects and they have every right to do what they like with the tokens if this is really what you don't want then

Don't pay bounty hunters in your tokens ,pay them in USD ,USDC or ETHEREUM to avoid dumping your tokens and that will have positive impact on your tokens ,dumping will always happen and if the project is a strong one then it will quickly recover

I completely agree with you, mate. However, paying bounty hunters in a different coun than the project's one would be difficult as one of the reasons the payments are made in the own coin is to create an initial volume. This doesn't mean that the price must decrease as if the project is good enough there will be a strong demand for the coin, too, and the price shouldn't be affected too much.

Also, bounty programs have usually less than 4-5% from a coin's supply, so even if the price might decrease, this should have only a temporary effect.
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The cheapest Altcoin. on: February 04, 2019, 06:32:16 AM
Never buy a coin just because it's cheap. Usually they are cheap as the project behind is not going well or if the total supply is very high.

Instead of looking at a coin's price you should focus more on what is happening behind this coin: team, whitepaper, milestones etc.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The price of Bitcoin is going down because the price is going down, on: February 04, 2019, 06:27:07 AM
Bitcoin's price is directly influenced by the demand and offering. As demand decreased a lot compared with late 2017 it was normal to see the correction from 2018.

However, when demand will increase, don't forget that btc's supply is very limited, so the price might go up easily.
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have to invest in bitcoin or ethereum. on: February 02, 2019, 06:29:53 AM
Personally, I'm a big fan of both coins and I would recommend to split your holdings between the 2, with a plus for Bitcoin, as it is much more stable during long bearish periods.

When bull run will come eth has the potential to raise more than btc (% from current price). Having. ~60% btc and ~40% eth is a good balance.
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2000 Ripple or 5000 Cardano? on: February 02, 2019, 06:25:48 AM
With current bearish market I would rather sell these 2 coins and split them between btc and eth.

If you really want to keep one of them, I recommend you Cardano, as Ripple is not event centralized and its price looks to me just pure speculation.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Bull run bring about the resurrection of ICOs and dead Altcoins? on: February 02, 2019, 06:21:26 AM
Bull run (if it takes at least a few months) might resurrect good ICO-based projects but dead Altcoins will never come back to life, except if a huge amount of new investors will come on crypto market without knowing the stories behind these dead altcoins.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, who hasn't lost coins or been scammed? on: February 02, 2019, 06:18:16 AM
I did not lose coins as I'm very careful with my private keys, but I have been slammed several times as a translator bounty hunter. After ICO some projects just vanished and nobody received any coin for the work performed. Now I'm much more restrictive when choosing new bounty programs.
599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS BITCOIN ATM PROFITABLE BUSINESS ? on: February 02, 2019, 06:14:12 AM
Bitcoin ATM should have at least the same profitably as a classic exchange has, or even more as competition is lower yet on this segment. Principle is the same: They but Btc lower and sell higher.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie looking for advice on Desination Moon bots on: February 01, 2019, 03:39:08 PM
As a newbie the best option would be to invest monthly only what you can afford to lose.

Investing something monthly can be a wise decision as opposed to buying everything in one batch (due to the price fluctuations). If you can afford it I would suggest investing some of it. However, I would diversify into some of the most popular cryptocurrencies. So besides Bitcoin, you might also want to consider Ethereum and go from there.

Good luck!
