Got Muted at the trollbox for asking perfectly good questions. They've people to do that but not to actually plug in the miners?
Way to go!

If there are miners at this company they are plugged in all the time. Why they should them of if they don't have to give the reward to us? If they have miners they are making money right now. And in brazil the day lasts 4 hours from now so i think in probably 3 and a half hour we will gain rewards again so that they get a maximum profit out of it.

7645  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: July 02, 2015, 06:19:22 PM
I think BTCJam is really cool and I generally love P2P lending. So I did a simple experiment. I collected historical data from BTCjam and other Bitcoin P2P lending sites. Then I ran a simple simulation, where I invested into each loan on the platform and observed the outcome. Needless to say, I ended up with a huge loss.

How does that make any sense? You think it's cool... But, you ended up with a huge loss?

What did you do, invest in btcjam on like 3 shitty loans and they all defaulted?

 Tongue

If you're quoting me, at least learn the read. I said I ran a simulation. I did not invest into any loans personally, I just gathered data and a simulated investing and calculated how much I would have earned if had invested. You can do this, because for historical loans, you already know the outcome, that is whether the borrower ended up repaying or he defaulted.

Basically, when you run a simulation and invest into all historical loans, you must end up with a positive return. This validates the fact that BTC Jam does credit scoring properly, because the interest rates compensate for the probability of default. The fact that my simulation ended up with a huge loss means that BTC credit scoring does not work.

In addition, I think the idea is cool, but the implementation does not work. Is it clearer now?

Ah, I apologize, I was obviously not reading it that way, I was pretty tired, sorry!  Tongue

This is how the PQ's roll. From one scam to the next. Oh, Scrypt.cc's having issues? Well conveniently here's ANOTHER too good to be true super fast ROI site. Thank goodness! Apparently HashStakers, LTCGear, and all the other ponzis that have collapsed aren't enough of a lesson.

Yeah, I know, I was just calling him out for being a phony... I can't believe the scryptards have already given "Marcelo" another 335 BTC, just today... unreal.  Huh

7649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty for Open-Sourced XMR/Cryptonight GPU Miner Bounties Thread on: July 02, 2015, 02:08:12 PM
Putting together a bounty again for open source mining software.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=653467.700;topicseen

GingerAle: 200
Jwinterm: 35
Chocolatebar: 2000
owlcatz: some yet to be determined amount
Lloydmiller4: 500 - 1000

The full bounty is for 2X hashrate increase on existing hardware. Proportional bounties can be obtained for successive increases in hashrate. So, 10% increase in hashrate gets 10% of the bounty.

Discussion about the bounty will now occur on this thread. I need to dig through and see who still has active bounties up from this thread.

Sorry, put me down for 200 xmr for now, probably more later. Thanks! Wink

7656  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 5oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: June 30, 2015, 10:42:11 PM
no worries on the numbering, I was just curious

The numbering is base58 using the same characters as allowed Bitcoin address characters. These are:

123456789ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijkmnopqrstuvwxyz

2 digit counting is like this:

11 12 ... 19 1A 1B ... 1Z 1a 1b ... 1z 21 22 ... 29 2A 2B ...

Coin #100 will be 1NASTY2i

I almost wish I could take it out of it's case just to hold it for real, but I know better!

Taking the coin out of the case and holding it will not damage it. It is silver. Metal. Wink

Interesting thanks, that's good to know! So, i have coin #13 then? 1D?

Yeah, I know it's ok to touch it, I just don't want to bust the case or something dumb. I have other silver coins to play with if i need to Wink ... Thanks again for fixing my account on nastyfans.org.

btw here are some pics I took to show the size in relation to my cable bill envelope and my mouse (and my hand), (Shiny silver ones are with flash set to on).

Main account stolen
No access , probably mail changed
With new security update , pin is going to be broken to.
Support tickets are being deleted on my new account , all of sudden can't chat anymore .

New security update with phone number doesn't help apparently
Hack
Tickets got deleted
Muted on chat
IRC channel changed with register after I told what happened there
Pin broken
Finally hacker got what he want

All these "random" events

My SCC account it only worth about 50 cents, thats likely the reason why I can still login and I can see my kh on the dashboard. A lot of scam sites will kill the accounts with much more BTC in them. The accounts with a tiny amount of BTC are left intact in hopes that the user deposits more BTC.

Not always true.
I have about 12btc in there and can login fine and see my khs and remaining btc balance.

I am able to login too and my balance and khs are as they were when the sitr got hacked. But i am only a small investor there too. I have about 6 dollars there.

Sweet. That poor guy above you, man he's fucked. Wink

So I got mine today. Love it. My only (small, literally) problem was that I have a hard time reading the key/address on the coin. (Yes I probably need glasses)..

I'm pretty sure it's:

1NASTY1DomxHgZDvhQWjF8FSZr41ytVWiv (which strangely has about .35 cents in BTC on it according to the blockchain).

However, I'm not sure how to verify this is correct (I am alone for the night, sorry)! - Also, the OP said the coins would be like 1NASTYxx (I assumed xx were numbers in order?), but I guess I had that wrong? Anyhow, OG, can you verify that I have the right address if it's not too much trouble?

Thanks - I hate getting old, I don't want glasses.. Sad

Try angling it differently in the light.  The address will appear as clear as day in the right lighting.

The coins do go in order, but probably not how you envisioned.  Remember there were 500 of the 1oz coins, so they are numbered according to a sequence.  For example, they go: 1NASTY11, 1NASTY12, 1NASTY13...  You have 1NASTY1D it appears, so your address according to analyzer.nastyfans.org is: 1NASTY1DomxHgZDvhQWjF8FSZr41ytVWiv

The first distributions have gone out to the coins already, which is why you saw a few cents on it.  Blockexplorer.com isn't updating at the moment, so the analyzer isn't showing a balance yet.

Ah, ok, thanks. You are correct. I was in my house, once I took it outside, it's much easier to read, sorry.  Also, no worries on the numbering, I was just curious, and thanks a bunch for verifying it for me.

I'm having an issue with my nastyfans.org "owlcatz" account (it got disabled because a month went by), so now I'm owlcatz2 and I bought a new seat on that account, so I'm trying to work with Nonnakip to get that migrated to my old owlcatz account, but of course, it's slow going due to to me having to verify via pgp/btc address, plus I know he's pretty busy, so I'll keep waiting on his reply, otherwise, I'll just be owlcatz2 on there if not).

Thanks again - I also forgot to mention that other than me being half-blind, it's really very beautiful, you did great work, I almost wish I could take it out of it's case just to hold it for real, but I know better! Wink

Don't forget to give some feedback on the coins.  Always great to hear criticism and praise for what was and wasn't done well.

I also have a few shirts left.  Feel free to voice your opinion on them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=888762.0
