somebody dropped 1628 BTC/single order recently; either a farm or hashnest/pacmic4? buy. If a farm- at least 200 machines (without discount). Close to a PH, but probably a Ph with a bit of discount. I am still thinking that they will decrease the price/give out coupon at some point-$200-$226 (1 BTC) and sales would increase twofold, in my opinion.

I am not an electrician. Can somebody please tell me if I can run one of these on a standard outlet for an apartment in the USA? I would buy the power supply that bitmain sells.
In addition to the electrical supply in your apartment, remember that the S7 should be considered a LOUD 1200W heater. While nobody has tested one yet, every expectation is that it will be at least S5 loud. Think vacuum cleaner loud. Maybe Bitmain worked some magic, but the fans that are present are expected to be noisy and powerful to keep the 1200W blades cool enough. If that fits your apartment situation, then you'll be good. Along with the above I will do a very long and through review. Sound meters. Different fans. ways to reduce noise. That said. At best it will be 72-77db and nasty pitched when it arrives. I think I can do 65db and better pitch sound with high hash say 4400-4800. I know I can do 45db to 50db with downclock to 3000ghI hope I can do 45db 3000gh and .18 to .20 watts. with downclock and voltage drops. see highlighted...really? (if measured with good dB meter) anything at 60-61 db is already quite nice (Sp20 produces that much at setting 10) if you can get to 61db at 4200-4400GH, it would be SUPER-i would definitely buy more then and I have some ideas about fan mods as well.

You know haters there is such a thing as a secondary market for these things right? There are lots of ways to chase ROI.
My thoughts on S7 purchase and profitability: I consider that I am using $$ (even I briefly convert $$ to bitcoin), so my expense is ~1869 without coupon plus ~125/PSU=~$1994 Bitcoin profitability ~360 days. however, used price of at least 30% (after selling expenses) at the end of this period makes it a 30% ROI in $$ terms. Additional upside (but only in $$ terms, not in btc) MIGHT happen IF BTC price would go up. You'll make the same or slightly smaller btc (due to difficulty rises), but make more $$ and aftermarket price would be higher.

May I remind you of something called "HALVING" before going crazy on a purchasing spree?
That is a million years away. By the time halving arrives, each and every S7 will have long been tossed in the bin. Miner lifetime is far shorter than that. my Sp20 is still very profitable at $0.1/kwh after ~9 mo My Sp30 is still profitable even without downclock after 11mo Conclusion: difficulty rises in the last 10-12 mo were moderate, allowing good hardware to function longer

i need powerful miner without fan completely silent , for Home use .
erne asks-Bitmain obliges ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) separetely: sidehack has a pretty efficient stickminer in works/soon to be available in US and Europe. a prototype probably produces ~0.02BTC in 6 mo or so, so 5 sticks for ~$125 will produce ~0.1 BTC. There are only 21 mil BTC, which is only 0.003 BTC per each human, so 0.1 BTC will equal to "bitcoin" wealth of about 30 average humans. Not bad for a $125 purchase, plus fun setting it up, etc, etc US: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1126705.0Europe: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141518.0Woah woah woah, sorry I get you're trying to be helpful but this is really incorrect. 1. Bitmain obliges? Bitmain doesn't have anything to do with Sidehack except he used chips he has bought for them in his products. 2. 125$ for 6 months of mining to give 23$ worth of bitcoin 3. Investment? This isn't for investments, that would be for fun and the love of mining. If he was to want to invest 125$ he would get .53 BTC today right now. Stickminers are fun and great for hobbies and I tremendously love sidehacks work he does but it is in no way an investment. not connecting bitmain to sidehack-edited he is probably a kid , so education is more important, you gain nothing from just buying bitcoin (if you are a kid) ok, crossed investment, replaced with purchase, which is what I meant. do i remember buying bitcoin fondly-No, but do i remember setting up S1, S3, S5, S2, SP20 and sometimes messing around with them-yes I do. It's more than a hobby than money generating activity. It would be great if i broke even at some point.

I wasn't even drinking.
That's the real tragedy. j/k Get well soon. Now for the "S7-" idea - I think with the way Bitmain would have to price such a machine (plus shipping etc) it would make even less sense financially. I want to get a drink after reading this thread, but it's too early. Incidentally, most people rarely seriously hurt themselves while being drunk (as long as they are not driving that is). Sports are where most injuries happen (I have broken an arm while jumping from a cliff as a kid and a leg while playing soccer). seriously, can we get back to S7, please.

Anyone buying today is having a $30-35 break in comparison with yesterday (in bitcoin terms). Enjoy your savings, but bitmain is known to stop sales for a day or two to declare batch 2,3, etc.

let us put the
-droid- notlist3d philipma1957 ebay coupon
thing to bed.
Facts
notlist3d was nice to me because I was nice to him at the beginning of the summer. I helped him setup his 240 volt mining op he gave me 1 coupon.
-droid- purchased a rasp pi from me for his avalon 4.1's I helped.
the s-7 came out and droid ordered one. he botched the order and sent in coins 7.8 but was short a coupon. it was an error. (happens I have made plenty)
so he was nervous about paying 7.8 coins and was short the coupon. he asked me what to do I said I do not have a spare I spent the 2 that were given to me.
I said forward the pm you sent to me to notlist3d he may have an extra coupon. notlist3d was nice and gave it to him.
So now -droid- had a paid in full order missing 100 usd and ask bitmaintech to take the coupon he now had.
Bitmaintech said do a new order and they would transfer the old order.
My guess is at this point in time -droid- was in the state of mind of WTF did I do and fucked things up just a bit more by listing the coupon on ebay.
Everyone just stop to think a minute you sent 7.8 btc out into cyberspace and you did it just a bit wrong. So you start to sweat you recall all the terrible stories you read about btc fuckups and you fuckup more.
I say if he was planning to do wrong he simply would have sold it under a different ebay name. not the same he gave here.
So lets remember we all can fuckup make a stupid mistake get embarassed and try to defend ourselves . Been there done that.
In no way does -droid- belong in the BFL Josh or GAW miner/paycoin Josh category.
In a way he is more like me last night I went to water my fig tree as it has been very dry. So it was the evening a bit dark I bent to put the how in place and something moved> oh a chipmunk I think. So I move the hose closer to the fig tree and some black thing flys at my face (a bat). So with my cat like reflexs I back up and trip over the hose straight backwards. Hit my the back of my head hard on the grill bent the stainless steel shelf.
Bad enough a 4 inch cut on my left wrist on the lawn/gravel edging. Worse come to worse I wasn't even drinking.
So I have a bump on my head and a nice cut from watering a fucking fig tree.
Point is when I started my task I did not think I would get that result.
When -driod- did the order for the s-7 I don't think all this was on the menu
when notlist3d gave 2 not 1 coupon for free I don't think he thought he would be reading all this.
So lets just chaulk it up to WTF. Then move on.
seconded... speedy recovery...

final balance 1804 (as you have to ignore everything before Aug 30) or ~225 machines. Come one, who wants to be a member of a S7 300 club (S7 future owners who ordered before three hundred machines are sold)? kidding, of course my crystal ball sees a $200-250 price reduction with a hefty coupon for early orders, unless BTC goes to 350 shortly. How well did the S5 sell when it first launched? Anyone have any number for that in the first 24 hours? I assumed it was a lot more than 225 machines. I thought the warehouses would be making orders like crazy. S5 history: 3000 BTC transferred on 12/18/2014 from the same account (on my computer it is page 87), then another 1500 BTC on Dec 23. I assume that the first one is within 24hr of S5 sales start (batch 1). Edit: I looked back and it looks like I ordered from batch 1 on Dec22, so maybe Dec 18 wasn't even S5 (which is strange)-can somebody else look at their S5 order dates?

If anyone can do it, I bet sidehack could figure out what would be the best way to encase a single blade, an issue would be controllers though if Bitmain isn't involved.
So is the S7 board size so different that it would not fit in an S5? Maybe Bitmain could offer an upgrade package? S7 board has heat sinks all over it. S5 upgrade would be nice, but don't hold your breath (remember the story of S2 upgrades).

this thing seems pretty sweet, it allow me to make profit even now, 50-75 net per month, not bad at all, still it would be good to see a a lower level antminer s7, a small cousin
because i don't want to run somethign which consume more than 600w for now, it would be a problem with this apartment when running thing like washing machine etc...
you mean s5 or something else A similar wattage to S5 but using a single s7 board is what we are talking about. This would keep noise needed down, give double the hashrate of an S5 and be even smaller than s5. interesting, but is it doable, I wonder? people can just form a co-op of loose S7 boards: say, each of three-four-five people take one board out and stick them into a pre-made box with 140mm fans for less noise. However, taking one board out of S7 might change the properties of the wind tunnel-S7 seems to be very dense inside as it is. The good thing is that it gives some impetus for fiddling with S7, which is great.
