7681  Other / Politics & Society / Re: the country’s (usa) interpretation of the Constitution will “have to change” on: April 25, 2013, 01:45:03 PM
It's quite scary to me how quickly people will throw away what they claim to believe in when they face hardship, you'd think with all the trouble back home the senate wouldn't think maybe sending a few thousand troops back to help out police in these situations would make more sense, I remember I think even General Petraeus at one time said that the army was spread far too thin, this is probably what's wrong with the country and it won't have much to do with any law made.

Lets be honest, any one of us would do the same on a desert planet if we were bored Tongue
7683  Other / Off-topic / Frontier Space forum invite handout on: April 25, 2013, 12:44:08 PM
Didn't know where I should post this so I thought I'd put it on off topic, if any mods have a problem with it let me know. Awhile ago I set up a forum and after much frustration with spambots I found that the best way to keep them out was to use the same system private torrent sites use with invitation codes. The only problem is now of course there are hardly any users on there and no one can register publicly, so what I thought I'd do is see if anyone is interested, all you have to do is message me an email and I'll send you an invite. My forum has only two rules, don't post child porn and don't post virus'/junkmail/spam, apart from that anything goes, I also have a chat room set up which people can feel free to use as well, I just want to see human beings using it rather than spambots being everywhere.

I'm sure most people on here know this but don't post your personal email addresses in public if you don't want to get spammed with virus' and junkmail.

When you receive the invitation code and get in ( registration itself is immediate ) you will have unlimited invites, so feel free to share them amongst friends and get more people to use the forum.

Please just disband the Bitcoin foundation and stop trying to form organizations that claim to represent people when they actually don't, I'm getting sick of this, it's exactly how groups like the Federal Reserve got started and will also be why I diversify into alternative currencies, I will never acknowledge the 'Bitcoin foundation' as any sort of regulatory or representative body of Bitcoin or it's users and do everything to fight against them.

Well you guys can complain about it or you can help me design and implement my course. The better it becomes; the more people take it and recommend it. If it becomes the entry point into the bitcoin world for the general public, then those who control the course; control the opinions and level of participation for all who learned from it. I want the veterans in this community to step up or you will have to just accept the bitcoin foundation as your defacto leader. The media will give them this title soon enough.

You aren't reading my post, I don't give a shit about self-appointed community leaders and organisations, you can want things all you want, doesn't mean you'll get them.

if you are new you will have to transact first but will accept

This is a newbie trap guys, when you are dealing with someone you're not sure about, always use a reputable escrow, most honest people won't have a problem with this.

I don't think it's in dire need of more degrees Rassah, western countries in general have that many degrees and courses that they don't know what to do with them all, I've been thinking back to the classes I sat in with schools and it amazes me how they managed to make the subjects so fucking boring. I look at stuff they taught back then that I've decided to partly look at again when I don't have anything else to do and what they taught was absolute garbage.

Seriously, how do you make digging for shiny and expensive gemstones and finding out where they live boring? How? In geography etc. all I got was a stupid textbook that ranted on about sand and climate change etc.

Still not buying it Zhou Tong.  Show the passport that you posted online.

So you can steal it and use it to commit fraud? Cheesy

I love all these people who go around demanding people release all sorts of personal information about themselves like it's their god given right to know and say nothing about their own lives.

7691  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.8.3 NEW) on: April 24, 2013, 09:28:45 AM
You guys will love this, this is what I get for not reading up the comments carefully:

Quote
// turn on/off error reporting (disable when live)
ini_set('display_errors', 1);
error_reporting(E_ALL);

// show sql debug info on error (disable when live)
$debug_sql = true;

Will let you know if it works.

Edit: Well nothing I tried worked so I give up now, the admin editing area seems to be borked for some reason but for some reason I can still edit up the pages in notepad++ and upload the changes just fine. The products page and the RSA Keygen works though so I guess I'll just edit offline as a workaround until I can find out what's wrong.

Edit 2: My webhost has apparently been DDOS'd a lot and the cpanel has gone down entirely now, that's probably why the store wasn't updating properly if I do any editing on it online.
7692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Democratic vote is held; Bitcoin limit is lifted to 900Million. How do you feel? on: April 24, 2013, 09:24:42 AM
If people start messing with the original Bitcoin protocol then people are going to abandon it and go to the many alternate currencies that will be out there.

Ah, I'm a noob at programming Tongue that's what I use to mess around with code though.
7695  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul on Bitcoin: "I do not think it fits the definition of money" on: April 23, 2013, 09:22:57 PM
I think it's one of those analogue vs. digital moments, I despise touch screens for example on mobile phones and I'd be perfectly happy with just using buttons, but for whatever reason there are people out there who go mad for them now, I think we need to find more practical ways of demonstrating to people the way Bitcoin operates or just get them to go and download the Bitcoin client and try it.

Disclaimer: I will always fucking hate touchscreen and when I can afford to I will buy a proper phone with buttons on it that do stuff when you press them, sometimes it's better to just leave us old guys alone with what we're comfortable with Tongue
7696  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Police state?" off-topic question: (How does non-police state handle scammers) on: April 23, 2013, 09:17:37 PM
In a non-police state the best thing I suppose you could do would be to blacklist the scammer and warn other people about them like people do here, you just have to make sure it's justified, this is also how unions originally came about, I know neo-conservatives etc. love to bash unions but they're actually a great idea, it's just when people decide to use them for mob tactics that they become no better than the people they claim to fight against.

The only time you could or should ever use violence against a scammer is if they turn into a thief and try con you by force, then I guess that turns into extortion and blackmail, usually to avoid a scammer it just takes a no or some careful reading.
7697  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Police State? on: April 23, 2013, 04:33:32 PM
Myrkul, I prefer to use the term government loyalist Tongue it's most appropriate I think.
7698  Bitcoin / Project Development / Transferring Bitcoin through radio signals? on: April 23, 2013, 10:47:08 AM
Say the worst case scenario happens and while governments might not be able to get the Bitcoin network itself down they managed to shut down many parts of the internet, do you think it would be possible to send Bitcoins through short range wireless radio signals? I'm talking walkie-talkie distances, I was wondering as well if maybe this could be a solution for anyone who doesn't really use the internet or have access to it. You could receive the Bitcoins from the network still left on the internet where there is a connection and then people could communicate through radio signals.

I'm wondering if I'm thinking of the right thing, it may well be there's a much simpler wireless option that we could use but I'm thinking in terms that wouldn't require any supporting infrastructure or outside help.
7699  Other / Off-topic / Re: Free windows C++ Compiler - anyone know of one on: April 23, 2013, 10:15:48 AM
http://www.codeblocks.org/ ? It also does various other languages like OpenGL, Ogre etc.
7700  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC or LTC? on: April 22, 2013, 05:29:12 AM
It's always good to have backups of anything digital, I'd just wish they'd put up an SCI that works for LTC already though, haven't found one yet.
