Decentralised and Open Source stock exchange client so that businesses can be invested in and grow with Bitcoin.
7702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox "502 Bad Gateway" on: April 21, 2013, 04:04:34 PM
Yep I'm getting it too.
7703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: this forum sucks on: April 21, 2013, 03:54:29 PM
This is why I've made my forum invite only so people can at least register instantly without problems or captchas, the restrictions are annoying but anyone who's tried setting up even a basic phpbb3 forum will know exactly how horrible it is having to find a way to deal with bot spammers. For me at least with invite codes I don't have to deal with this sort of thing and it will be humans communicating with other humans rather than bot spammers trying to force their way in every five seconds.

I'd love to make the forum public, but even I don't have the time anymore to go through 30+ spam posts per day and get even more if I lower my guard and that's if I'm lucky, these people are inconsiderate and obnoxious cuntbags, deal with them first for us before complaining about forum restrictions.
7704  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalised bribery would pay taxes? on: April 21, 2013, 01:04:08 PM
We already have legalised bribery, it's called lobby groups and campaign donations, though you could argue that lobby groups are extortion and blackmail as well.
7705  Other / Off-topic / Re: Irish users? on: April 21, 2013, 09:29:24 AM
lolz! I can understand where you're coming from because I'm in the UK, not many people I know seem to know anything about Bitcoin yet they are hearing it sometimes on the news though.
7706  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.8.3 NEW) on: April 21, 2013, 08:41:35 AM
I think I've mucked something up, is there any reason why I'd get an "Update failed!" red error message? I did double check my stages so I wonder if it's something I've unwittingly botched through editing, I think I need to download the source code again.

Edit 1: Seems to be happening even when I edit just the most basic settings but I'll keep tweaking to see if I can find the cause, I still seem to be able to generate RSA keys just fine though for some reason.

Edit 2: Well I think I've tried all I can, I wonder if it's something to do with my FTP server, I'll have a look around but I've never come across this issue, I also tried changing file permissions etc. just in case.
7707  Other / Meta / Re: Animated avatars on: April 21, 2013, 07:39:53 AM
Adblock is your friend, no matter what the crazy pro-advertising people say Cheesy
7708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: well i think im done on: April 21, 2013, 07:29:01 AM
Bitcoin works fine, it's paypal that's utterly stupid, you need to stop using paypal or ebay, maybe bitmit instead? At least that's going to be Bitcoin friendly, honestly, the loss sucks but it seems what you've done is completely ignore every piece of warning that a Bitcointalk user has posted repeatedly on here for the past several months so I'm not surprised you've been scammed out of your coins.
7709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is anyone else betting on a breakdown from current levels? on: April 21, 2013, 05:56:45 AM
Nice, now we just need to wait for the money printing effect to run out Tongue
7710  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy consumption could become an issue if bitcoin really breaks through on: April 21, 2013, 05:46:04 AM
I'd agree with johnyj and the great thing is we can fund all sorts of crazy ideas with Bitcoin Tongue it's not like our governments could freeze our accounts anymore like in the old days trolololollol Cheesy But seriously guys, I think bio-engineered carbon dioxide eating bacteria is the answer.
7711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is anyone else betting on a breakdown from current levels? on: April 21, 2013, 05:35:55 AM
It's still too early to count on the Bitcoin price levelling out yet, we still haven't seen the effects of hyper-inflation from the countries that are inflating the crap out of the currency yet, I also haven't seen the EU collapse though it seems extremely close to happening now, I'm waiting on countries announcing they're going to leave the EU.
7712  Economy / Economics / Re: Interesting cover from the BBC on: April 21, 2013, 05:27:56 AM
I'm looking forward to this Cheesy seeing political groups do math against people who do math for a living and actually check over their work will be hilarious to watch.

Bitcoins are earned online by completing difficult computing tasks.

They seem to be repeating that line a lot without really explaining what it means >_<
7713  Other / Meta / Re: Ban useless replies on: April 21, 2013, 05:20:29 AM
I don't like the way a certain user posts or responds so lets ban them GRRRRRRR! Holy shit, considering some of you are supposedly proponents of an unregulated free market you sure hate the idea of people having freedom of speech don't you? I don't care what people post as long as it isn't bot spam and virus'.
7714  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Police State? on: April 20, 2013, 02:12:04 PM
What amazes me is how even with simple things like PC games corporations are trying to track us and get information about what we're up to, if you install Comodo Firewall ( great bit of firewall software I think ) you'll get all these messages popping up of software/games that are trying to connect to the internet without your permission.

These people have no fucking respect for the people they're selling to never mind matters of privacy, the scariest part is, they think they're in the right to do all this.
7715  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people are still buying BTC? on: April 20, 2013, 10:28:14 AM
If you're spending 'hours' earning only 0.002 BTC then you're either being ripped off or you need to study economics, I suspect as well that you've been to one too many advertising sites thinking that you'll get rich off them, you won't, those sites are pretty dodgy. I know some of the owners are clearly just handing them out for the hell of it but I personally believe others are trying to data farm for peoples receive addresses like with emails, you simply won't earn money on them, I particularly dislike the way a certain group of them are re-inventing words and mathematics to describe 0.00001 BTC to make it seem like you're getting a lot.

If you want to earn money, get a skill set and earn it by offering services or goods for Bitcoin, I think the beginning stage of mining for millions worth of Bitcoins is over too.
7716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: thought experiment: wars could be ended by BTC on: April 20, 2013, 10:16:06 AM
Humanity will always find a way to fuck itself over I do think though that BTC will certainly make governments a lot more democratic, if BTC managed to eliminate paper currency or make it obsolete, political parties would have to work a lot harder to gain our votes because if they tried making war like they do now etc. then we'd simply stop funding them and it's not like they could just tax the difference from us like before if we objected Tongue Bitcoin is giving voters an insurance policy against political con artists.
7717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teresa is going to get a visit from the IRS on: April 20, 2013, 09:07:16 AM
This is precisely why companies like Bitspend make so much sense, that way Bitcoin users won't have to worry about taxes at all Tongue at least for most things, looking forward to when they do subscriptions.
7718  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it time to get rid of Linux/JavaScript/Python kids? on: April 19, 2013, 09:31:43 PM
I'm sort of getting it in places now, it's still pretty damn difficult and I don't like to do it often lol Tongue I'll probably end up making something eventually though because of my hatred of the games industry.

A bit off topic but I really recommend this site since it seems to explain the basics well enough but of course you have to adapt the code to the compiler that you're using: http://www.videotutorialsrock.com/opengl_tutorial/basic_shapes/text.php
7719  Other / Off-topic / Re: Send people to live on Mars donate with bitcoin on: April 19, 2013, 09:30:23 PM
It'll be the asteroids that save us, they're filled with the stuff we need, we just need to get people with the balls to gather them.
7720  Other / Off-topic / Re: Send people to live on Mars donate with bitcoin on: April 19, 2013, 09:17:07 PM
Yeah I'm sceptical about these kind of operations too, let me tell you, if I were aiming for space, I'd go for the asteroids filled with lots of precious metals first and use that to expand, nevermind they're asking for donations, just pissing away money to get to somewhere far away we're not quite sure about yet is incredibly short sighted.

I actually think that the millionaires who are funding the corporate space missions to grab asteroids are doing it right even if they are just doing it to get rich short term.
