7721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbasket: A Scalable Peer-to-Peer Multi-Cryptocurrency Wallet System on: June 25, 2014, 12:19:09 AM
My question is how this would scale multiple blockchains into one unified wallet
That said a few combined services would be useful instead of having 10 wallets having them all in one wallet is simpler
The question is overall wallet security but the convenience aspect is nice.
It can be done on the sidechain system with merge mine so will keep this on a watchlist nice share.
7722  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-17] Lighthouse – A Kickstarter Clone Built On Bitcoin on: June 25, 2014, 12:12:01 AM
Well this is an interesting idea
Recall something similar as well but perhaps this one will scale better
Good to see another idea in the bitcoin sphere
7723  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 24, 2014, 09:55:04 PM
That was quite the shocker
Was not expecting a Penalty kick in the last minute
Now the Greeks go to the round of 16 for the first time in their history

18% really

Wow that guy is a genius, he's a master of statistical odds.

He must be a millionaire from gambling.

No wonder so many people are firm believers of "gambling strategies" lol. Cheesy

Just thought three months later Just-Dice is back and in the black
User goes to try out the gambling strategy
Loses that bet  Grin
7725  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 24, 2014, 09:33:01 PM
Goal goal goal for Cope D'Ivorie Beautiful equalizer
A great shot into the net there Smiley
Tied up at 1 to 1 with another 20 minutes to go will be interesting to see who wins here.
7726  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fifa Bosses 'Secretly Doubled Their Salaries' on: June 24, 2014, 09:30:30 PM
Not a terrible surprise for me Fifa is a fairly corrupt organization and needs to be rebuilt into something else.
That said $200,000 well they could be worse seen some charity CEO's with million dollar salaries
Under the argument you get what you pay for so they won't betray you so interesting enough.
7727  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the fuck do we still use cash? on: June 24, 2014, 09:26:49 PM
Cash is king unlike the other payment systems there are no hidden fees using cash
Also you get discounts using cash in some stores especially in the wholesale area when you buy in bulk
Simply put cash has a lot of advantages

If you argue but I get reward points from my VISA for stuff
Think about it you already paid for it and its been pushed into the price of the product at the store before you go to the teller to check out
7728  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid for your signature from FXOpen. Weekly payouts. on: June 24, 2014, 09:15:03 PM
perhaps, it would be better people only post if they DIDN't recieve?  Grin

That would be a pretty bad idea since it would ruin the transparency of it all
We can't see mass send texts for each user in the campaign
FX does it individually so there is no way to verify we were all paid unless we post it here

Fifth payment (June 16 - June 22 posts) - done on June 23 - each payment with separate tx id
7729  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 24, 2014, 09:08:10 PM
Well it is still 1 to 0 for Greece but there have been some close plays so far
Only a few minutes into the Second half
7730  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 24, 2014, 07:42:03 AM
Lots of emotional trading going on today. It will be interesting to see how high the dividend can go before people realize what they are doing.  Grin

True starting to wonder how much is a premium price and what is the fear price
That said mining has is affected by difficulty as is growth anyways just a reminder the vote is due tomorrow probably beat 50% on that one  Grin

The vote will only be valid for current unit holders and held until Wednesday, June 25th 2014 - 12:00 GMT. Votes will be weighted based on the amount of units of each individual unit holder. Based on outcome, we will direct our hashrate to p2pool.
7731  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 24, 2014, 07:35:24 AM
The only time Havelock mentions being able to convert AM100 is upon dissolution of the asset...  I would love if they got rid of the 5% fee AND let you freely convert...

Hell, they should just remove AM1, convert them all into AM100, and remove the fee and be done with it... there really is not the liquidity to support both.

That may be a good idea!

Sometimes it pays to back page the thread
This makes sense to me as well.
Would support a 1/100 and 1 Share combination.
7732  Economy / Speculation / Re: I predict that btc will rise to $2000 by end of March 2014 on: June 24, 2014, 07:31:45 AM
Since my last prediction went so well Smiley, I am going to make another "most accurate" prediction ever:

BTC will rise to $2000 by end of March 2014.

This is a simple yet possible price prediction
In essence the price will likely reach $2000 by March 2014 with increasing merchant usage and adoption in 6 months
The process will probably move the price all over the place on the way to make to get there.

You are from the past it seems, so I'll be the first to break it to you - no, won't happen.

Or perhaps I am from so far in the future that it will happen and you don't know it
I have inserts a sideways 8 of time for the market to get there ^_^
We call it the Days of Futures Past threw in a X-men reference

Bitcoin is held by the ultra wealthy
Litecoin is used at walmart
The NSA holds half the darkcoin etc.
7733  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-24] The Bitcoin Universe Now Resembles A Medieval Agrarian Economy on: June 24, 2014, 07:16:08 AM
I haven't heard the word agrarian used in like forever but it is interesting to see it brought up in relation to crypto and specifically Bitcoin.

That article had an interesting perspective on Bitcoin adoption

If Bitcoin is a medieval agrarian economy then that means it has a lot of room to go still comparing a digital trading system to it is at first bizarre
But it makes some sense when you read it since miners are kind of like farmers and need to sell their products to raise capital for the next batch and farmers don't always make profit (Although they aren't subsidized to farm for more products here)
I guess the network is oversecure in a sense but it may as well be called a growing pains but his argument is well founded in data.

If 1/3rd of the real economy is the current ratio that is very high and pretty over-secure for this state that said it is still too early to call it a mature technology but it is maturing gradually and step by step.
That said it should balance out in time and it was an interesting read.

But I still need a flamethrower since this could easily be researched not just guesstimated.
7734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge-dice.com closing. Please withdraw coins or have a emergency withdraw set on: June 24, 2014, 06:07:55 AM
Still sucks though
Hopefully both doge and just dice will come back again from the grave

That said I think that if people lost 1 million dogecoins they wouldn't mind as much hehe
Just have a maximum invested of 1 million of them and your good Smiley
7735  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: June 24, 2014, 05:49:30 AM

7736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bikini Contest [BITKINI CONTEST] on: June 24, 2014, 05:41:17 AM
Dopecoin did the same thing lol

http://www.missdopecoin.com    Smiley

That's neat but would that mean the winner of that contest was known as Miss Dope
Seems a bit off although I guess the winner here would be Miss Bit (Bitty) as a nick name
Still a cool contest though and a good example that it could be based on
7737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPay to Sponsor St. Petersburg Bowl in First Major Bitcoin Sports Deal on: June 24, 2014, 05:35:01 AM
Is this a real sponsorship deal
Looks its a WSJ article nice
Wow that is awesome I am really surprised that there is a bitcoin stadium
Thanks for making my day great stuff is going on in Bitcoin
7738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Play or Invest : 1% House Edge : Banter++ on: June 24, 2014, 05:28:12 AM
The end of an era

Gonna stop you right there and cross my fingers. Nowhere did doog say "I'm quitting the business forever and shutting down the site." It's just a hiatus.

Alright the end of an era FOR NOW Smiley
Till another day when just-dice rises from the ashes and comes back to life
Let this be a short hiatus then hopefully less than one or two seasons
(Goes to edit previous post)
7739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bikini Contest [BITKINI CONTEST] on: June 24, 2014, 05:24:08 AM
It's Summertime and the season for Bikini's
My question would be how the contest would be done
Webcamera photos etc.
Or get as many people in an area to go to one place and make it an annual Bitcoin event
The prize pool is easier a donation address and a ticket address if their is a venue for Bitcoiners to unite and visit

I like the idea though however we need more women who use bitcoin to make this viable

Not really.

You just give the entrants incentive to enter. You can say $10,000 prize winner in bitcoin or fiat.

I'm sure you will see many contestants show up.

Your right it wouldn't matter if the prize was converted to fiat with a Bitcoin claim option available
If there was 10,000 dollar prize people will come probably not worldwide but from fairly far away to try out
Could even make it a bit more to see if they will bite in terms of Bitcoin versus the fiat rate

That said the location still matters and what type of Bitcoin themes / sponsors you could get for the event
Besides the challenges of course besides the traditional bikini contest some fun games to compete in would be nice.

Something like beach volleyball or pool soccer, capture the flag in the water (or two people work together and you go for headbands with 3 needed for the next round) as an elimination game those sort of things.
7740  Economy / Economics / Re: what caused the rise to $1100 last year? on: June 24, 2014, 05:13:25 AM
I heard Mt. Gox was manipulating the price upwards via bots. Don't know if this rumour is true.

That is the most viable explanation. What else can explain the giant spread, which was seen in Mt Gox? When BTC was trading at $1,100 in Mt Gox, it was trading for three digits in all the other exchanges (Bitstamp, BTC-E.etc). The demand came from Mt Gox only.

That market was a strange one at the time
Gox could be 400 to 500 dollars below BTC-E and every other exchange at the time

Perhaps it was the fact you couldn't move the coins out that forced the premium but to me this was classic speculation and bots trading back and forth on their ecosystem before it crashed.
