Grats and loose gemstones you say? I need to have a look at that.

There was a lag in processing orders, helping fuel the panic, Vessenes said. There are some most bitcoin enthusiasts who are against rules, however. fixed that for them It's precisely because of people who understand the markets that Bitcoin was invented in the first place.

I was thinking of more than that but I wanted to spare the innocent of the users here

Soooo how many private jets does that come out to? Does that include the hot flight attendants?
*fantasizes*

The likes of Bitcoin has never been seen before, I think if we're talking purely about price no one can predict what's going to happen in the long run.

The U.S. was on a gold standard until 1971. Gold is a deflationary currency, just like bitcoin.
I'm not arguing that more deflation is better, or that the current deflation rate of bitcoin is good. I have seen first-hand that it is not. My claim is that both high inflation and high deflation are bad, and that both low inflation and low deflation are tolerable. One thing you have to realise is around that time the federal reserve was repeatedly trying to manipulate the price of Gold, Bitcoin can't be manipulated so easily and also Gold is used for a myriad of other things besides a currency, you can't claim you have seen proper deflation in action because there hasn't been a currency from what I'm aware of in existence that has been specifically developed with deflation in mind, that's where Bitcoin comes in.

Fail. 1) OP claims to be smart, yet can't find the 'Meta' sub-forum. 2) S/he's basically whining "I'm bored! Say something smart. I demand to be entertained!"
If you want better quality discussions, then use the search function and 'necro' a topic of your choice that you think has merit, or start a thread that's actually meaningful...
*sigh* He's talking about kids like you I don't like it when people compare these morons to children/teenagers because they're a lot more intelligent than this the majority of the time, chances are these are 30+ year old neckbeards, spoilt traders or neo-keynesians out to do some trolling and are incapable of being told they're full of shit or they are sore losers. Haven't you seen the kind of bullshit that our politicians and leaders get caught writing on facebook and twitter?

Epic Someone needs to make an even longer version and we can post this to some of the news networks.

Even Ben Bernanke is eventually going to have to acknowledge Bitcoin is a force to be reckoned with if CNBC of all people are acknowledging it, seeing him talk about it as if he understands it is going to make my day.

Yes this bubble pop was a good thing but I have news for you: bubbly speculation will return.
Just means I can sell my Bitcoins for a better price when I need to

That's a good question but this is also a good idea, I've been wondering about getting something set up in the UK but I'll have to do some research on it and find someone who can do math better than me too to help out, we do need more decentralised options so maybe this is the answer.

Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal either, the thing everyone will need to realise is that speculators for some reason always like to make a lot of noise when something happens and they make even more noise when something they see as bad is happening. Have you ever seen a trading floor? It looks like Bitcointalk is becoming an internet version of that.

I'm not that hardware savvy really lol I've only been learning about hardware more properly so I can fix my computers myself.

You should just put the stats back up again Theymos, I liked being able to check how many people ignored me, it was 3 - 9 or something last I checked.

Honestly, I keep looking at the crazed traders who are running around and screaming about the end of Bitcoin and one thing I've noticed is, even with the small amount, my Bitcoin is still in my wallet, I can still trade goods for it and I can still make transactions far easier than a bank. Maybe we need to stop looking at Bitcoin as a 'store' of value, like a commodity and look at it as an actual currency, this is another situation where I'm really grateful that Bitcoin is completely unregulated.
Shouldn't we be looking at for example how to price goods based on the gains made by miners or some other method? Or are we really going to be relying on this hyper-inflated piece of shit paper for the rest of our lives? I'm beginning to wonder if I should be using the USD or GBP at all to price my goods and just go with what people are willing to pay.

The only people this affects are those who are trying to trade between the exchange rates and make a profit doing only that, the fact is people who stick entirely with Bitcoin are going to be unaffected.

people just need to realize that there are enough resources for all to live happily, instead of the "fuck you, this is mine" capitalistic attitude. It's all well and good saying that but it shows a bit of naivete to be honest, I've seen people on the opposite end of the spectrum simply get jealous of people who have something they don't, does that mean they automatically get to have what the other person has? It may not necessarily be a question of the quantity of resources but the jealous side being a bit of a selfish prick.

maybe its being DDoS'ed too? lawl Fucks sake I wouldn't be surprised sorry about that you lot, I'm currently tinkering with it every now and then so it will be back to normal eventually, I'm just procrastinating a lot not a fan of coding. I'll be sure to get it neatened up and coded properly eventually.
