781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Rig Motherboard question. All PCIe 1x slots useable? on: January 12, 2014, 11:30:01 AM
I can confirm I have a few miners running all with 16x and 1x slots, they make no difference with hashrate. Use powered risers to be on the safe side, although two of my miners have been running constant 9 months now easy with unpowered risers and no issues there. Maybe im just lucky
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner private sale on: January 12, 2014, 11:23:54 AM
if this was really happening he wouldnt be on here sharing his money making software with others, hed be rolling in it himself. either that or it would be selling for a bare minimum of 20btc. just my 2 cents worth. make your own decisions.

Up they go baby!
787  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 166 TH/s on: January 10, 2014, 09:16:38 AM
@ $820/btc Petamine shares are ~ $17/GH!!
@ $820/btc CEX.io shares are ~ $36.408/GH
@ $820/btc Cloudhashing.com contracts are ~ $100/GH

Is this the cheapest non-hardware way to get involved in mining currently?  Why aren't we advertising that fact to get the IPO share wall down so we can find a proper value for this stock?

Problem is both CEX.io and Cloudhashing are hashing now. At the same time, we do not know when PETA Mine will start hashing till this moment.

Regardless of that I highly doubt that the costs will halve over the next couple of weeks and if petamine don't have their miners in January then there will be compensation so I still think that petamine shares are pretty cheap in comparison.
788  Other / Archival / Re: [WTS] USB Style PCI-E 1x - 16x Powered Riser Cables !! $17 Each on: January 09, 2014, 11:48:48 PM
whats the advantage of these besides the extra length?
Im planning on trying to run 5 290's per board and have been reading about problems trying to get windows to see all the cards and people having to short certain pins in the risers to get it to work. Do these take care of all those issues? Do these cables meet the industry standard for load tolerance and insulation etc.. all it takes is one bad cable for the whole operation to go up in smoke?

side question to anyone: could you recommend a 1350w psu gold with 4 pcie 6 pin and 4 pcie 8 pin connectors? ( will a 1350w be enough for 4 R9 290's (non x) Tri X (sapphire) cards (and nothing else)? I was told they take ~275w each- have I enough headroom?

You don't actually do anything to the riser itself, the pin shortening process is with the pci slot on the motherboard with a cat5 or 6 cable. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36061.0 for more info on this.. As for the psu you might be better off splitting the load between two seperate PSUs and use an adapter from http://www.add2psu.com it's probably just the same cost if not cheaper this way and its less stress on the PSU.

You don't even need that adapter. You just need to jumper pins 16 and 17 on the second ATX connector so that the PS_ON is truned on. To keep from being on constantly, you can put a manual cheap switch on it from radio shack or whatever else or a physical jumper (piece of wire) you can remove by hand. All it is is a ground pin.

You're onto it mate, this is just for people that don't want to be messing about with wiring themselves but yes you're right that's all this adapter does.

791  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 166 TH/s on: January 09, 2014, 08:29:36 AM
It's electricity and hosting.
Dont u think 30ish euro cents per Watt of eq. Is not an overkill for hosting?  Just saying...
per kWatt.

How much did KnC charge for 6 months of hosting for their Jupiter miners? $2100? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg2707082#msg2707082)

Jupiter, is that 0.6 kW/H ?

0.6 * 24 * 30 * 6 = 2592 kW
$2100 / 2592 kW = 0.81 $/kW

Isn't that overkill ?

Absolutely. I for one believe cryptx's electricity and hosting fees are quite reasonable. Our main focus would be when are we getting online. I think I speak for all here when I say we'd love to hear an update to hear everything's in place for our operation to start on "xxxx" date..

794  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auction- 2.5-2.6Mh/s Scrypt Mining 7 Day Lease on: January 09, 2014, 02:13:08 AM
I missed this one, will check in 7 days if you'll relist it!

Ill keep everyone posted I may be renting more out after this, if everything runs smooth ill definitely rent out a few of my miners and give everyone a chance at mining that are looking to try before they buy their own or just can't own one period. I think it's a pretty smart service to provide and not a greedy one at that  Smiley

second image..

I've had a PM in regards to shares as seen in the above pic why it's showing the way it is, thought I might shed light to it here, for those that don't understand the rig is solo mining TAG coins- two blocks have been solved since the beginning of this thread- hashes perfect normal.
