781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 210: Cormier vs Johnson Info and Prediction Thread on: April 12, 2017, 12:51:23 PM
AJ claimed that the is retiring and not fighting ever again, he said he has further business beyond fighting, maybe some role in some movie or something? It would be cool to retire from fighting as an actor.

Anyway, next is Cormier vs Jones. Jones is insane, he is a coke addict. I think he is the type of fighter that if he losses he will kill himself, no joke.

Bitcoin would be better. I believe in not only a global but a trans planetary currency where nodes are all over the galaxy. In the year 40,000 humans will be colonizing planets and connecting nodes across planets with some technology we can't fathom, that is, if we don't blow up earth before we reach that point.
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Snapchat first investor thinks bitcoin could realistically be worth $500,000 on: April 11, 2017, 01:28:17 AM
According to Jeremy Liew, the first investor in Snapchat, and Blockchain CEO and cofounder Peter Smith. In a presentation sent to Business Insider, the duo laid out their case for why it's reasonable for bitcoin to explode to $500,000 by 2030.

A very interesting article at Business Insider that worth reading: http://www.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-price-could-be-500000-by-2030-first-snapchat-investor-says-2017-3

I originally thought BTC might top out below $50k.

But now that I understand that BTC will be exclusively only the settlement layer for the mass scaling which will take place in altcoins, I now think his analysis may be correct.

All the power broker settlement will likely to be on the Bitcoin blockchain which will be the bulk of the fungible capital generated by the masses on the altcoins as dictated by the power-law (Zipf's law) distribution of wealth. Thus Bitcoin is the reserve currency of all the altcoins.

This is why one must stay invested in this sector. Note I do think the altcoins that scale up the masses will see faster appreciation than BTC in spurts, so that is one of way of increasing one's BTC if you are expert at speculation. Otherwise buy and hodl BTC.

Do you really believe in the $500,000 in 10 year prediction? If BTC is 6 figures by 2030, even $100,000 would do it for me. I think I could have enough to sell 50% and keep hodling 50% and dedicate myself to a stress free lifestyle without working, no luxuries tho.

I just can't believe it tbh. The growth would be unprecedented. I cant think of any other asset that would have growth at such rate ever.

A lot of things can happen in 10 years, but one thing is clear, the more time BTC stays alive, the more it solidifies. It's the only blockchain with 7+ uptime, no other can claim that unless they invent a time machine too. Uninterrupted uptime is a strong asset in itself.
784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 210: Cormier vs Johnson Info and Prediction Thread on: April 11, 2017, 12:02:10 AM
Daniel Cormier is a gold medalist in the Olympics with a long MMA history in several brands, this guy is one of the best talents ever in the field and he gets booed by the stupid Jon Bones Jones crowd which doesn't appreciate at all what this guy can do. No one comes close to DC, except Bones, and he has ruined his career with the drugs.

This is indeed the historic fight we need, just like Conor vs Khabib.
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even more proof that market wants segwit on: April 10, 2017, 04:40:58 PM
OP is referring to recent Litecoin pump and dump I think.

litecoin pump and dump..
who cares.

its temporary price drama.
plus

it was caused by twitter..
not asics or china or asicboost.

asics and asicboost has done nothing in the last 2 years
bu, classic, xt, and a dozen other implementations has dont nothing in the last 2 years

reddit and twitter "rumours" have been the attack, twisted as a victim card being waved at a situation that has never played out

Doesn't change the fact that that positive segwit news/rumors make the price go up and negative segwit news/rumors make the price go down.

When Charlie Lee confirmed that Wang would not stop signaling segwit, price went back again.

Now if Jihan confirms that he will drop that amount of hash rate against segwit, the price will go down too.

Rumors have to contain information and depending on what the rumor says market reacts.

TL;DR:  segwit news/rumors make the price go up and negative segwit news/rumors make the price go down. This is a fact.

Don't try to apply logic with franky1, he will twist all arguments that don't meet his agenda.

Even further proof that segwit = price up. Vertcoin got 300% price increase due segwit news:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1828453

Anyone that still doesn't see segwit = positively valued for the market needs a beating.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 210: Cormier vs Johnson Info and Prediction Thread on: April 10, 2017, 04:23:38 PM
Daniel Cormier has beaten everyone on the division but Bones Jones. Now he needs to get his shit together and come back into the game to fight Cormier for the final fight. Daniel Cormier has no real competition anymore except Jones.
787  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Rule: buy when others are irrationally pessimistic or too cautious on: April 10, 2017, 03:27:46 PM
We need to look at potential 100 to 1000'ers.

How about PIVX? looks like its going to hit 1 USD finally. Once it hits 1, then why not 5, or 10?

It's a DASH clone, without instamine and so on. Now it just needs to hire some pretty girl to shill on youtube. Looks like it's cheap enough to profit from a big bubble that I think will eventually happen.
Also its not even polo yet.

What the hell else is there? we need to look at coins that are under the radar with some potential for a good ol pump, ideally flat coins or at least under 1 USD relative to total supply. I know PIVX is at the end of the another joke, im just trying to guess a good pump. This one seems like a decent gamble. If it hits 2 USD that's already good profits.
Of course the problem of massive whales in this coin and constant risk to megadump is there, but whales are greedy, they will enjoy seeing the price go higher.

788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC round 2 begins? on: April 10, 2017, 12:41:22 PM
As of right now I fail to see how segwit can activate on LTC. Like I said before, LTC needs 2 weeks of steady 75%+ signaling. Jihan should have enough to push it back down, and 2 weeks is enough to organize a counter attack where he is able to stack enough hashrate to fuck things up by going below 75% again, just for a moment and then the counter goes back to 0. So how are we going to get past Jihan's ASIC blocking?

I think UASF is the only way, and if UASF is used in Litecoin before Bitcoin, then that is a good reason for a pump. But activating it with hashrate? im not sure.

What fucks me up is the fact that AT ANY MOMENT any of the big time miners can tweet and send the price to hell at will. This is just nuts. I can't sleep when I know that.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC round 2 begins? on: April 09, 2017, 11:24:09 PM
The hashrate seems to have stopped falling below around 60%. The current price is 766k. We've lost around 10% hashrate, with a low 24h price of 730k. It's anybody's guess to know where's the bottom. Litecoin is still #1 volume in poloniex, buy order is huge, but i dont feel comfortable holding it until things clear up. The thing is, it's 2 weeks of sustained 75% what we need. Even if someone comes up with 15% and brings it to 75%, Jihan has 2 weeks to counterattack and bring it back down again. How are we supposed to ever get segwit then? Looks like UASF is the only way.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 100x on: April 09, 2017, 10:47:50 PM
Anything could be pumped to x100. From the less random ones, im looking at PIVX. Looks like a Dash clone with Zerocoin protocol implementation, decent total supply and so on, and without the instamine scam. Not even in Polo yet, not even 1 USD. It could dump a bit but who is to say it will not get one of those big fat pumps. If it keeps getting developed and it corrects a bit I may buy some.
You need around 8 BTC for a masternode at current prices.
791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even more proof that market wants segwit on: April 09, 2017, 03:06:52 PM
We need to fire those miners with UASF.

We need to fire the miners by changing the proof of work. They've got too much power, and this behaviour (amongst so much other poor faith behaviour) only demonstrates it further. PoW should be changed before these miners escalate their malign and selfish behaviour, if we wait until they do it, the results will be far more catastrophic.

I hate to sound alarmist, but it wants to happen yesterday. BU can still hard-fork away from Bitcoin by the rogue miners anyway, regardless what the users want. And I've outlined before, they could screw things up really, really badly if they attack without mercy or shame. Who wants to risk that? Not me

Even if you change PoW, what stops new monopolies to be formed? Look at LTC. There's a scrypt monopoly already. Change it to anything you want and you will get chinked again because chinese miners have free electricity and cheaper labour force coupled with sponsored PBOC money. PoW cannot be saved as it stands, changes need to be made, all PoW will always lead to the current situation. I had an idea of randomly changing PoW algo or something like that, SOMETHING must be done to avoid coins getting chinked or else you might as well dump and have nuke backed dollars. What's the point if both are centralized anyway.
792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Even more proof that market wants segwit on: April 09, 2017, 03:02:08 PM
If the market genuinely wants segwit, we should see a migration to litecoin when segwit becomes activated there.

I predict no migration at all, because users arn't really crying out for it.

What do you mean users aren't really crying for it? do you measure it in the number of tears? Don't you see how the market is insta dumping at mere rumors of miners stopping segwit? If Jihan confirms it the price of LTC will tank back to 1 USD you dumbass.

lol OP's proof
.. a tweet starting "i heard"...

Are you this dense? Don't you see how the confirmation would make it even worse? Stupid fuck.

https://twitter.com/f2pool_wangchun/status/850053367988592642
This caused a massive price crash too, and it recovered when it cleared that he was not stopping segwit support:

https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/850080167791702016

Pretty much instant reaction of the market: positive segwit news = price up. Negative segwit news = price down. Why are we still arguing this FACT? don't bother replying because im not wasting time with you again.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ZEC] Zcash Speculation on: April 09, 2017, 02:41:42 PM
So why is this pumping now other than another round of dumb pump and dump? Looks like the usual -> stagnating price -> pump -> more stagnating price altcoin routine to me.
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC round 2 begins? on: April 09, 2017, 02:35:39 PM
Well FUCK I panic sold when I woke up at around 81 with like 10% loses, im fucking done and im not getting back in unless the price looks like a bargain.

Can't deal with the stupid stress of all possible technical and fundamental analysis being instantly destroyed by a single tweet, this is ridiculous. Who knows how much the price is going to tank now? every time they do this they destroy investor's confidence. If Jihan confirms it it will go back to like 4 USD or something.

Noobs are following a virtual chart of segwit % now.
64% = sell signal for them
Futures OKCOIN 1W are already under index price...

Noobs where trading on block variance, this crash is due this tweet:

https://twitter.com/shaolinfry/status/850995104240336896

Now where's the bottom? 80 was it? 70? 50? Good luck with that.

https://twitter.com/shaolinfry/status/850995104240336896

A single truth a rumor of Jihan using his power to crush segwit is already crashing the market hard, just like everytime he makes an statement about blocking segwit in BTC and so on.

Im sick of this bullshit, we need to get rid of this idiot. UASF segwit or whatever I don't give a fuck, im sick of a single guy with a ton of mining power crashing markets at will and make millions shorting while doing nothing. This is fucking NUTS.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 210: Cormier vs Johnson Info and Prediction Thread on: April 08, 2017, 05:23:13 PM
Wow interesting that that happened. Maybe Dana White called in and told the weighters that they say that he passed the weight or something?

I mean just imagine the disaster for the UFC as a brand if this fight is AGAIN a failure.

DC vs Bones = failure
Khabib vs Ferguson = failure
This one = failure again

The brand will be finished soon if this keeps happening.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: April 08, 2017, 03:26:11 PM
Some new videos with Dana White:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxV0vjixDe4

I think happening. He says Mayweather-McGregor will be only crossover fight so this means it's happening. Anyone that took a bet for the fight happening would have won me included.
798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin dies, what alt would you go for? on: April 08, 2017, 01:48:07 PM
LTC, without a doubt.

yeah. i honestly think that's the only one that would meet my criteria for the long haul. i don't know if that's because i'd still be pining for a bitcoin and that's the closest equivalent.

LTC only if we already managed to get segwit enabled, otherwise we will stumble upon the same problems.

Also if bitcoin dies it means i dont have any money to invest in any alts and I would be back to 0 so I would just be done with crypto and with life in general.

So you have to jump ship before ship sinks.

I guess I would diversify in XMR, ETH and LTC. What else is there?
799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / LTC round 2 begins? on: April 08, 2017, 01:45:00 PM

What do you think about this? chinese mafia already filled bags and time for the segwit hype to continue?

Can we get LTC with segwit before BTC deploys UASF and gets segwit?

Millions still to be made with a possible LTC ATH or at least a big 200% pump?

Let's find out.
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VISA marketcap = $207 billion. Gold marketcap: $7 trillion on: April 08, 2017, 12:25:06 PM
It's obvious bitcoin losses all its value if it's layer 0 losses his decentralized node network with the gold type features.

The reasonable thing to do is build layers on top of that robust, slow, expensive but decentralized core.

Blowing that base up so people can buy onchain starbucks faster and cheaper is the definition of nutjob.
