781  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is It Normal For A Site To Ask For Your Wallet Address? on: August 12, 2023, 06:46:46 AM
Wallet addresses are ok to give, just not the private keys and phrases. That would give them control to your wallet. It's definitely something that you could give but then if you do that, it would connect you to that account. This is worrisome if you are worried about your identity or something but if you are not doing anything bad or something to worry about, that's definitely ok.
782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 11, 2023, 03:30:54 PM
I think it's the wrong way of thinking about it. It's not promoting crime but it's attracting users for it to be used in illegal stuff in transactions. Well, I think you would find that cash is being used more with illegal stuff because it's harder to track. For BTC, it's all public and you just have to connect the dots, but it's definitely hard.

People should learn why it is not promoting it and it's always the people that are using it in illegal ways that are evil.
783  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big SEC Decision on Bitcoin ETFs: What's Your Price Prediction? on: August 11, 2023, 02:47:02 PM
Lol! Not sure why people are so bullish about an ETF but it doesn't bring any real value on the table. It's just a method of investment that mimics the price of an asset without buying or selling that asset. So I don't see any positive impact or liquidity inflow in the crypto market due to ETF approval.
It's probably about SEC allowing it is the big deal. A lot of people of course follow SEC and see that their decision is something to follow. Having that type of exposure to those who don't follow cryptocurrencies in the first place would maybe try and HODL or learn about crypto. I think it is a big deal.
784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peer pressure as a substantial gambling catalyst. on: August 11, 2023, 02:15:15 PM
Hmm. I think "peer pressure" is more of a close people kind of thing and not the influencers that appear to ask for something towards you that you are "obliged" to gamble or something.

It's better to know why you are doing it and not because you are "forced" to do it.

My experience with this is not a lot. I'm surrounded by people who are curious about gambling but wouldn't really gamble or influence you to gamble all the time. It's best to know that you are doing it because you really want to and are not forced to.
785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots fever on: August 11, 2023, 06:16:29 AM
I have heard most of the people that I know who gamble have stories that have somewhat a similarity. The part where they almost "gave up" but then a miracle occurred. They won a high amount of multiplier and they are overjoyed. It's just so similar to other people's stories and I just wondered what's the similarity.

The thing that I have noticed is that it's always going to be "one or two" instances that they won a high amount. The reason for that memory is probably because it's always the only memory that they remember that is ecstatic. Imagine someone winning a lot, that's a mark on their life that they are going to remember for the rest of their lives and that's the story that could lead to a positive thing or the other.

The addiction and the stories that they have probably intertwined because they want to feel that same high and then end up losing more than what they won. I think that's almost always the case.

I do love slots but it's sometimes not my day so I just stop. It is addicting for sure.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are new altcoins being too risky? Current market trend on: August 11, 2023, 02:53:55 AM
The better term for what others are doing, that invests in new altcoins and expects a significant return, is gambling. They are just risking their money and want to have that return.

I think the initial launch gets the price dipped because of the people selling it. I think it's pretty much expected because many people who have invested in something want to get that initial return that they want and probably will not HODL for a long time. It's expected for those short-term investors.

As for the long term, that's another risk that you can take but as long as you have the right mindset, you can really focus on just letting it be and possibly having that "chance" to earn/profit.
787  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: August 11, 2023, 02:44:43 AM
Having those memecoins are somewhat a double-edged sword where you have these following positive things for the cryptospace
  • Exposure that there is the technology already "cryptocurrency"
  • People start to learn about it

What we cannot control are the memecoins that rugpull investor's money and just going crazy. That's the negative thing and there's always going to be cons in any investment. It's just up to the people to fact check and see the legitimate ones that are worth owning. It's just that they need to put in some time understanding it in the first place.
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sudden Wealth Syndrome (SWS) In Gambling on: August 10, 2023, 10:13:41 AM
It's now that I read this term but I know the specifics or the symptoms of this conditions from the people I know who gambles a lot. Their stories tend to always focus on the parts where it's about how much they have "won" and how they would want to have that "win" again. They are saying that they can do it again and would just end up losing more.

Personally, I think I have just felt the urge to gamble again because I have experienced it already but I stopped myself because I know that it's not gonna end up well.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for everybody but we must accept it before it can be ours. on: August 10, 2023, 09:39:32 AM
Are you trying to push your opinion towards others? That it's for everyone? It's not always going to be the same for everyone because not everyone wants to get involved or anything to do with this type of technology. Maybe they are limited in the capacity to even acknowledge it or something but it's not for everyone for sure. Imagine for someone to have their own belief forced it  Roll Eyes

Don't get me wrong, I'm all-in in BTC but I don't think everyone is.
790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 09, 2023, 03:55:28 AM
I'm amazed how people remember the small things like that and it is hard to have that kind of remembrance if you really don't care about it at the time, but once you have realized that it's something valuable, it would really change you. That's just how much things change. It might not be as valuable at a certain time but it will be soon.

You know, nothing will live forever if the world is destroyed or something Roll Eyes
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if USDT falls down? on: August 08, 2023, 04:10:29 PM
If it falls back to $0.1-0.2, I would probably buy more of it and maybe in the future it could go back to its former glory or the should be value that it has which is $1. If that really reached that point, I think it's the end but you could still try though.

Your strategy is good on following that common saying. That's just ideal.
792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Please put your gambling threads in the correct section!!!! on: August 08, 2023, 03:39:44 PM
I have seen multiple posts that are recurring to this section and it just goes on and on. Yes, it's gambling but they just think they can put it on the gambling part and what they are posting are discussions because they are asking questions. They are just posting and not thinking about if it would help the forum be organized.

If you are looking for opinion of others or views = Discussion.
If it's about gambling but still asking opinions, go to gambling discussion.

793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can 1 satoshi be worth $1 in the future? on: August 06, 2023, 04:07:25 PM
To dream about this is okay but it wouldn't really check out. A lot of members have already explained why it couldn't happen but let's add more to the discussion.

There can be a possibility where
  • $1 dollar is worthless because of inflation
  • $1 dollar is still how we perceive it now

I think it's more plausible on the first one rather than the second. If the dollar becomes like Zimbabwe dollars, it could lol.
794  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Huobi - the new trouble spot of the crypto world ? on: August 06, 2023, 03:50:02 PM
Is there any coin to watch out for? Like what to sell of before anything else? Because apparently it could really affect a lot of people especially those who have been investing in something.

I think people can start selling off or withdrawing their assets from Huobi to be safe right?

Maybe it's time for shorting? Not financial advice
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 06, 2023, 09:52:40 AM
There are probably people who doesn't know how much the taxes are going to the government from casinos but that's not the problem. The definite PROBLEM that we see and observe due to gambling are the people who have no control over it. Even if you try to make it show how much it does to the society, the minute detail that it does to people, the small things that lead them to do evil stuff or some harmful stuff to the close people to them are the problem. It has pros/cons like everything else.
796  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Introducing: the bitcoin cycle calculator on: August 06, 2023, 08:14:34 AM
If I understood it correctly, upon checking the Google Sheet, you're basing it on pi, right? And you are saying that 3.03% complete means on the numbers of pi or the possible time where Bitcoin is mined at the end? I'm curious.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 05:30:27 AM
Jake Paul is back he won via unanimous decision against Nate Diaz as expected.
I guess Drake lost some change. Lol.

Anyway, congratulations to the people who bet with Jake Paul!
798  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you ever used copy trading apps on: August 06, 2023, 05:08:41 AM
If you are worried about getting scammed, why did you still install it? Installing and still worrying about getting scammed would likely get you hacked/scammed in the first place if it's fake. You can be infected by doing that.

Don't think about it too much. If you believe that you can earn at it, do it. Just make sure you are risking a capital that you can risk.

Copy trading is the easy route. I would prefer to study on my own and make my own decisions.
799  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: T-shirt Startup on: August 06, 2023, 02:26:29 AM
According to the current market on apparels, it is said to have the following

All segments in the Apparel market are expected to grow similarly. The CAGR between 2022-2027 for the Women's segment is 5.01% and for the Children's segment is 4.4%.

Maybe you could focus on those part of the market in the women's and children's segment in order to take advantage of the market. I can't seem to find yet a suitable source for crypto related merchandise but I think you would be able to gauge a niche market in your place first.
800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 05, 2023, 02:45:55 PM
Definitely going to invest in the right things that would make me live a comfortable life. It's going to be a stressful time because it would probably be hard to withdraw it and you are going to be so paranoid having so much but I would prefer it to be lumpsum so I could invest it already in what I need.

It's all going to be pretty good to think about but definitely not going to happen lol.
