7841  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A strange idea of labeling bitcoins on: July 28, 2021, 07:23:35 PM
They could start their own pools and reward miners with a unique altcoin or NFTs or something. The question is what demand would there be for such a token/coin? That’s what makes exchanges somewhat special, they bring demand for their own coin by accepting it for exchange fees. I guess a mining pool could rent hashrate using their own coin, but that would be quite a gamble and I’m not sure it would be as utilized or profitable.
7842  Economy / Services / Re: Cryptology - We will help you with listing on any platform on: July 28, 2021, 06:46:33 PM
Do you think it would be possible to get something like NastyFans seats listed?

We have an updating public list of all historical trades that should making charting historical prices quite simple.

Kyrie Irving has even started bashing his sponsors now. In an Instagram post today he mocked the latest Kyrie8 show design and urged his fans not to buy it, claiming he wasn’t involved in the design and marketing process. This guy is a cancer to everything he touches. I think the Nets would be wise to explore a trade for Westbrook and reunite the Thunder 3. I have my doubts as to whether Kyrie can be a part of another championship team.
7844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Banking senate hearing (at one point hinting at going after code commiters) on: July 28, 2021, 06:34:27 PM
If you read her testimony before the senate,  she does say that the developers need to realize that they have fiduciary responsibilities in that they must be acting for the greater good of those who use their code to create crypto coins.

To me that is a very valid point and in my opinion the devs behind Bitcoin Core do that.

Fiduciary duty is a tricky thing with multiple perspectives. From the business community’s perspective at the time the developers did not do their duty with regards to limiting transactions with a blocksize limit that rendered many Bitcoin businesses unable to continue their business models.

I think in this case she’s referring to fiduciary duty to those that use their code from her perspective of making sure proper laws and regulations are forcibly adhered to.
7845  Other / Meta / Re: Should we be able to post about liquidity mining here? on: July 28, 2021, 05:38:35 PM
Obviously not appropriate here. I’m not against providing liquidity as I do it alongside staking coins and traditionally mining others. If people here want to search out these topics and learn about them that’s great. It isn’t appropriate to start posting off-topic threads in sections because you want to reach other people. That’s not how forums work.
7846  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is COVID-19 cure possible? on: July 28, 2021, 03:06:19 PM
Do you think they will be able to create some type of medicine which is going to be effective against the virus any time soon, because we all see that the vaccines maybe won't be the key to beating the virus? Huh

If by they you mean us, and by medicine you mean antibodies, then yes. It’s almost like mankind has likely survived the flu for a little while now. Watching government attempt to remove natural immunity from their citizens as a further method of control has been one of the more terrifying events I’ve ever witnessed.
7847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season Champion: Milwaukee Bucks on: July 28, 2021, 03:01:14 PM
Sounds today like Ben Simmons is trying to end up in Miami with the Heat. The Sixers are trying to get him to Washington for Beal or to banish him to Toronto for punishment. It will be interesting to see what happens. A couple years ago people were saying Ben Simmons was the next LeBron James and now they don’t even want him in Philly. Life comes at you fast…
7848  Other / New forum software / Re: Ability to Block Users on: July 28, 2021, 02:25:16 PM
I created a script you can run in your self moderated threads that will automatically delete posts from users you do not want to post in your thread.

It would be nice if the forum would do this automatically and would prevent a list of users from posting.

While that’s cool no doubt, I’d rather if certain individuals who have been shown to act inappropriately lost the right to view my posts or have me continue to know they exist by seeing their name even while ignored. I think the threat of irrelevance from those whose attention is being sought is probably the best way to fight the trolling problem here as the “freedom of speech” cop out for not being willing to moderate trolling according to the forum’s stated rules is beyond old and has resulted in a profound loss of talent from these boards over the last decade.
7849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Puts Down Bitcoin Use Rumor on: July 28, 2021, 02:19:04 PM
They’re probably hiring someone to secure a process for storing Bitcoin so that they can add it to their balance sheet. The last thing they want is for the price to soar from everyone frontrunning their trade causing them to get less Bitcoin for their dollars. That’s likely why they were so quick to deny reports. I imagine it will be a long time before we see them implement a system to accept BTC for goods.
7850  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin about to break out of the $30,000s market bottom? on: July 28, 2021, 07:03:33 AM
Certainly feels like a breakout. The weekly chart is looking pretty bullish. Usually when this sort of thing happens, it can run for a couple months. It might be a little early for the run into six figures but it certainly feels like we’ve turned a corner and are headed in that direction. Remember to not use leverage and enjoy the ride.
7851  Other / Off-topic / Re: The most profitable ways to earn cryptocurrency? on: July 28, 2021, 07:00:57 AM
I used to earn cryptocurrency by mining. Then I tried trading on a cryptocurrency exchange.
What are the most profitable ways to earn cryptocurrency in 2021?

The most popular is certainly advertisements. If you have a good sized platform, whether that be YouTube, Twitter, or even here at bitcointalk, you will likely be able to find an advertiser willing to pay you in order to have exposure to your network to advertise their product or service. If you aren’t an influencer, you might find that staking coins like ETH & BNB or providing liquidity on Uniswap or Pancakeswap are also popular ways to earn crypto.
7852  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Poll] At what point will you stop complying with Covid restrictions? on: July 28, 2021, 04:21:28 AM
People (like me) who predicted, before the gene therapy injections were even being used, that there would be 'new strains' and these would be used to justify the endless boosters, there is not much to change one's over.

Indeed.  Once you see the money grab taking place, you can't help but feel sorry for the young people who own no property and are being groomed for a lifetime of bi-annual booster shots to enrich pharmaceutical companies while justifying universal insurance coverage and universal incomes.  Meanwhile they're digging an inflation grave for themselves to pay for this that is certain to land them as renters and wage earners for their entire lives with very little chance to ever reach financial freedom as ever expanding regulations and taxes make starting an extremely profitable business impossible.  There's nothing new here...  The rich get richer, the peasants lose freedoms.
7853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always take profit on: July 28, 2021, 04:09:18 AM
"Always take profit" is pretty much the exact opposite advice any rich person will give you.  Whether you talk to Warren Buffett or Michael Saylor, they will both tell you the way to wealth is to buy good assets and never sell them.  If you need money you borrow against your good assets (as both did by selling shares in publicly traded companies).  Always taking profit sounds like a trader's desperate attempt to capture some gains after suffering many losses.  In that scenario, the real winner is the exchange taking your money each time you make a trade.
7854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you used a software of cross chain ? on: July 28, 2021, 04:06:19 AM
I too have only used exchanges to move funds in this manner.  I think before too much longer there will be a better way.  I've heard that Shapeshift is doing interesting things with atomic swaps and moving to (or maybe already has) decentralized their platform.  I imagine one day it will be extremely simple to do this sort of thing in your own wallet with an atomic swap, but we aren't there yet.
7855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 28, 2021, 02:44:32 AM
I love it when Joey Crawford is the referee of a game I’m watching. That guy takes no shit and does a great job. The players seem to like and respect him as well. He’s gotta be getting pretty old so if he is still going I imagine it won’t be for much longer, then I’ll be searching for my new favorite NBA referee.
He retired already and he is now 69 living a peaceful life. I guess.  Cheesy 39 years of servicing the NBA and was stopped by a knee injury. I think age is also part of the reason behind it. He will be remembered obviously, because of the Tim Duncan first ejection incident of his career from laughing on the sidelines.
Bad mood + Duncan grilling him for an offensive foul. Refs had their bad days too but being professional should stay. He was later fined, suspended for the whole season and even went through anger management sessions just to get back for work. After that he admitted he made a mistake and became one of the best officials out there.

Yeah, who wouldn't forget the Crawford and Tim Duncan's incident?

But as for CP3 and Scott Foster, just a coincidence and for sure moving forward, fans are going to watch every game that Foster is the ref of every CP3 game now, specially in the playoffs.

We’ve been watching for 13 games straight now. At this point it goes well beyond coincidence. You could make the case that Chris Paul has some sort of mental block when it comes to winning games with him as a ref, or maybe Scott Foster calls certain fouls other refs don’t, but there has got to be a cause for this statistical anomaly.
7856  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you bullish or bearish this year? on: July 27, 2021, 11:57:11 PM
The stock to flow chart makes it difficult to be bearish. I’d say the odds of BTC hitting $100,000 are better than hitting $20,000 at this point and it’s very likely the next 5 months are going to get wild. Stay away from leverage and enjoy the ride. Who knows how many more of these bubbles we’ll see.

Top best:
Quote
1. Danny Crawford, who got 30 votes.
2. Joey Crawford (no relation), with 25 votes.
3. Monty McCutchen, with 13 votes.
Top worst:
Quote
1. Scott Foster, with 24 votes.
2. Lauren Holtkamp, with 14 votes.
3. Marc Davis, with 12 votes.
I think the deep reason was he never do conversations with whoever is trying to correct him. He doesn't admit his mistakes unlike other officials.

7858  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: July 27, 2021, 02:42:06 AM
You will be lucky to get in for December 2022.

I put in a preorder for 100 bucks.

Sadly this is true.  According to the Cybertruck Owners Club Reservation Tracker if there are no cancellations ahead of me in line, I'm looking at an estimated delivery date in the Summer of 2023.  I can only hope that a lot of those early orders were just for fun and when it comes time to make payment we see a lot of cancellations, otherwise this may be a longer journey that I had originally anticipated.

Welcome to the club.  When did you place your preorder and what model did you opt for?
7859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The attack is 51%. The Bitcoin killer. on: July 27, 2021, 02:08:13 AM
I don't think a successful 51% attack would kill Bitcoin at this point nor do I think anyone capable would be willing to attempt it.  It would take a great deal of equipment and money to pull off such a thing.  I do like the idea of governments with massive amounts of hashrate closely monitoring chains for any sort of forking while they wait for a massive transaction to receive confirmations.  Makes me think of the new Loki show and divergent timelines being managed by the timekeepers...
7860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: July 27, 2021, 01:56:16 AM
The best part about this thread is that the word "first" is included in it.  While Paraguay, Brazil, & Mexico all are likely to see some sort of bill put together involving Bitcoin it looks like next up for full adoption may be Panama.  I don't have any inside information or anything like that, but from what I've read it appears that Panama may see adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender before the end of the year.  I can only imagine things may accelerate from there, especially if adoption by these counties is showing a positive effect on their population.
