Hey Mark! I'd be interested in one of your D3s! Also live in Sacramento and would prefer to meet. When do you anticipate their arrival? I'll send PM for more details.

I have pm'd you.

Also, need to edit some items as they've been sold.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quietest hardware miner for altcoins on: August 28, 2017, 08:01:11 PM
It's expensive nowadays but I bought some of these for science some time ago:

https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814487281?ignorebbr=true&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-Mobile&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-Mobile-_-pla-_-Video+Card+-+Nvidia-_-N82E16814487281&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjfjpm9v61QIVjpx-Ch1zxAOiEAQYASABEgLUxfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I have been testing the All in one coolers from MSI as well. They are pretty quiet don't go above 55 degrees C when on full load and don't require any external fans. Only issue is that if you want to put it on a mining frame you have to consider the radiator.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH or ZEC with these specs on: August 26, 2017, 09:55:00 PM
for now monero is the best to mine for 1060's i have 16 1060's and mining monero.
and looking for some  shitcoins to mine Smiley

What is your current hashrate per 1060? I'm running on Zcash right now, but would like to move to Monero.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Mining is Dead? Wait, I'm making more now? on: August 26, 2017, 09:53:06 PM
By using only a limited number of variables that affect profitability, mainly difficulty and price, IMO mining calculators are too focused in ATM profitability and limited to be useful in showing what you really make. Miners that tend do best mine coins they believe them and hold for the long term. Also the ETH block reward wont be reduced until the next fork planned for the end of September.

Was it the difficulty increase? Something happened supposedly around August 24 right?
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Mining is Dead? Wait, I'm making more now? on: August 26, 2017, 09:52:25 PM
Ethereum has a somewhat stable base of miners and thankfully this is benefiting other cryptocurrencies that are primarily mined by GPUs. However, ETH proved to be more beneficial to early miners and some still believe that it has potential for another rally. So while it doesn't mean other coins aren't more profitable in real time I think that more people are mining to hold ethereum.

Why would you do this when you can mine another coin to buy Ethereum?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 26, 2017, 09:21:09 PM
Dash hitting $380 is certainly helping profitability estimates! (if measured in USD)

Dash getting close to $400 is faster than I had originally thought. I knew it would, but didn't expect it so quickly. Amazing!
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU Mining is Dead? Wait, I'm making more now? on: August 26, 2017, 09:20:31 PM
I was thinking after the Ethereum reduction in Eth rewards GPU mining would be gone, but it looks like I'm making even more money now with Zcash and Monero. What's going on anyone else notice this?

90  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Mining Equipment - Antminer D3's and Mining Rigs on: August 25, 2017, 02:44:51 AM
Antminer D3's:

Up for sale are 3 1 x October Batch Antminer D3's available to someone in the US. When the units arrive, they will be shipped to your location with expedited shipping. These do not come with a power supply so you will need find one. I can also provide a discount if you would instead prefer to meet locally and pick it up from me when the day comes. I am based near the Bay Area / Sacramento for anyone interested.

At this time, I'm asking for $5000 in BTC / Ethereum / Litecoin per miner, but am open to offers.
[SOLD]

3 D3's sold for October. There are now 3 November 1-15 batch for sale. I really do not want to sell, but after calculating cost and increasing power, it would cost more to add more power, so I am selling 3 November D3's. Please pm me, we can work on an affordable price.

Mining Rigs:

I am parting with 2 of my rigs and some spare GPUS. All are in excellent condition and are only a 1-2 months old (can prove with receipt). The sale is only occuring because I have a lot of Antminer D3's and need to sell them to get more power. Each of the rigs are in their own frame of aluminum and wood. Can post pictures for serious interest.

Specs:

Rig 1
GTX 1070 x 6
PSU: Corsair RM1000x Gold (1000 watts)
Mobo: Asus Prime z270p-p

Even taking into account difficulty increase, there is still much money to be made. I think people are expecting too much to think a miner pays itself off in two weeks or less. Even a 4 month ROI is great.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Question] RX570 Nitro+ mining 20mh/s with BIOS mod on: August 22, 2017, 06:26:07 AM
I am getting 26 mh/s with these cards and same memory. I don't quite remeber what I did but would be willing to help for a small tip since its my time.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 18, 2017, 06:19:57 AM
I think I finally know why Bitmain is releasing so many. They want to stomp on Dash price to make it look poor relative to Bitcoin. Doing so would bring more people to Bitcoin, thus boosting Bitmains own bitcoin stash.  Jihan must have thought this through.

No you are wrong.  The reason why they are releasing so many is because I bitched and complained to BITMAIN that assclowns that purchase 100's of these for the purpose of reselling are the plague of the world.  Also because a lot of con shops opened up pretending to be BITMAIN and selling cards on their website, taking money and not sending cards ( like what happened to me ) will be eliminated.

I think its great!!  All you idiots who bought 100's with the idea of reselling them are going to get screwed, hahahaha.
You all deserve it!
I hope you all go bankrupt.

LOL that's so mean. But seriously, the way to crack down on that is to set limits on the amount and refund those that bought over. Why does the regular person who wants to test it out suffer for the big buyers faults? I think they should help the little guy and prevent the big guys from screwing everyone over. But this is the messed up society we live in. Everyone perishes right?

Why would the number of sold miners affect Dash price?
More miners -> more coins being produced and sold -> lower Dash price.

More miners has ZERO effect on how many coins are produced.
More miners = more DIFFICULTY, not more coins.

Read my newer comment. It will make more sense near the end. The bad scenario would be like the first introduction of scrypt asics where the difficulty sky rocketed and the first people to get their asics would sell because they were afraid of more other miners competing. I personally am going to hold most coins I make because I have made a lot just trading. This is really to help me stop selling so quickly  Grin.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why do people suggest investing in Cryptocoins vs Mining For Quick Profit? on: August 18, 2017, 01:42:05 AM
I don't understand why this is? If I invest 500$ into Crypto, the investment could go up, but it
Could also tank and I could lose all my money. If I invest 500$ into a Mining rig, I can still sell the GPU and recoup a lot of my money back. And with Mining a lot of the time when you mine a certain amount you sell, stopping you from taking insane losses if it all tanks. So why invest vs mine?

If you GPU mine, sometimes stuff happens. You may have issues you have to fix and you have to make sure they are always up and running. If the coin price goes up, you are still mining coins, while if you had invested, you get more money immediately. There are tradeoffs though. I think mining tends to be less risky because you can always sell your gpus if the coins tank.

More miners -> more coins being produced and sold -> lower Dash price.

This is a common misconception - as more miners come online, the mining difficulty increases automatically to ensure that the number of coins being generated remains the same.

Sure the difficulty adjusts, but when a lot of miners are competing with each other, they will sell their coins to gain profitibility. By selling their coins as they receive them, other market participants may react by selling their own holdings followed by more selling and you get the picture.

Maybe I should change my language a bit. More coins produced to be sold and not to be stored. If however people hold onto the coins, it may counter act this, but most people are pretty negative at current state based on the replies here.

Dash has dynamic mining. It will increase supply when hashpower is low to attract miners and tighten as hashpower rises. Other things factor in such as the number of transactions. The insurgence will boost Dash all around though.

I'm all for Dash going up. In fact I think these machines will make more. $400 Dash seems possible with the current market, but again it might take much longer.

100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BITMAIN IS OPENING PREORDERS FOR D3 TODAY AT 5PM (GMT+8) on: August 17, 2017, 03:30:08 AM
Where is all this D3+ info coming from ?
The D3 already eats 1200Watt.
In case they double the Asic-chips on that guy (thats how the L3+ was born) it will eat 2400 Watts.
Assuming they just double the ASIC-chips and size of D3, you have a franken-ASIC.
So the next possibility: bitmain has a more efficient ASIC-chip in their sleeves already.
If so, why did they release D3 at all ? If i read it correctly, bitmain has never done a NM-shrink so quickly.

All in all its not so likely for me. But who knows Wink
time will tell

smaller chips

edit: they only liquidate their in house machines once they have more powerful stuff already in, and are clearing up rack space. If they're selling 15gh, they're running 30ghs already. If they sell 30ghs, use your imagination.

Another reason is once they clear an entire production line of a miner, and the profitability is rock bottom, people stop buying. They'll stop selling. At that point, they can liquidate hashed coins (by the millions) into bitcoin or fiat. Either for further investment into the company, or for pay-outs.

No hardware to sell, no reason to hold back & prop up the coin.

In the case of the L3 / L3 + the reason they could double it was because the L3 was using around 400 watts. Going from 400 to 800 watts with double power was easy.

However, the D3 already uses 1200 watts. If they doubled it, that would be 2400 watts in a unit which is unfeasible. They could probably develop the chips, but then that takes time too, much longer than you would expect.

Also, based on previous history, we should have an L3++ at 1200 watts or 750 gh/s but I do not see that yet.
