81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coins? on: July 20, 2019, 05:25:43 AM
Thank you guys for your feedback!

What do you think about facebook's Libra coin?

We know it is 100% centralised and backed with all the big players.

I am posting part of CoinGecko report.
Full link here:

Dont forget to VOTE

Libra could be a good stable coin in future but isn't Libra in quite a bit of a trouble right now from the US congressman? I heard from my buddies at the US that they are hammering down hard on Libra.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: stablecoin on: July 19, 2019, 05:27:29 AM
There are lots of stable coins in the market but none of them are 100% reliable mainly because of the centralized nature and they can mint new tokens at any given time so in my opinion if you are planning to hold a stable coin for a long time then don't because they are only good for short term hold.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My eth is hacked ........ on: July 18, 2019, 05:19:04 AM
Once the hacker has control over your private keys sadly there's nothing can be done after that. If the amount you lost is substantial than all you can do is involve the authorities but I doubt they can be of any help as well because of the nature of cryptocurrency.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top 5 coins under a $0.50 on: July 18, 2019, 05:04:50 AM
I am big time into bagging the privacy-based coins so I would suggest any coins with privacy as a major feature. Plus binance is running a trading promotion on each launchpad projects so they also might give out some short-term profits (IMO).
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO & IEO at the same time possible? on: July 17, 2019, 05:37:05 AM
You can do whatever you want but I wouldn't recommend because it will look like unfair practice running two crowdfunding campaign at the same time and secondly I highly doubt any reputable exchange is going to allow you to run IEO and ICO and the same time.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to pay token transaction fee with Token on: July 17, 2019, 05:32:42 AM
Hey, sorry to say buddy but as far as I know it's not possible to use a token for paying the transfer fees in the Ethereum chain. I could be wrong here but I think paying a transfer fee using tokens is currently only possible in WAVES platform.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 will bring big changes? on: July 16, 2019, 05:17:45 AM
In my opinion, if they finally bring the staking feature in ETH 2.0 than I am sure the price will rise significantly before the launch of 2.0

I started HODL on Ethereum from the past bear market and waiting for Vitalik to release staking on the ethereum network.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: hardware wallets safe? on: July 16, 2019, 04:47:03 AM
In my opinion, hardware wallets are one of the safest things to store your crypto in. Previously I used to store my crypto in a paper wallet they were safe but not that safe (physically) but ever since I started using hardware wallet I never went back.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Libra the future anyone wants? on: July 13, 2019, 06:22:20 AM
Well, Facebook just got fined for $5B by FTC which in my opinion is far far less for the breach of privacy. I don't trust facebook much were privacy is concerned but maybe just maybe Libra could be a good thing that crypto community needs right now.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season is not here yet. on: July 12, 2019, 05:37:53 AM
Being patient is key in a moment like this. The moment when bitcoin dominates the market cap value and also the moment of strengthening bitcoin prices. If we hold a good altcoin, I think now is a good time to accumulate and buy more
that's it. Mr. Trump tried to dump bitcoin today, so when whales buy cheap bitcoin, they will use those bitcoin to buy cheap altcoins, and pump altcoins for us. Be patient, and hold all your altcoins (good ones, of course) tightly to see them rocketing. To be honest with you all, this is my first time I saw news on Mr. Trump's perspective on crypto currencies. Or did I miss something?

Ah, yes I read that tweet made Trump and ever since he made that tweet price fell a lot. But what I loved most was the respond of Justin Sun, ever since he won the dinner contract with Buffet he is inviting everyone to the dinner lol even Trump. Really hoping that the market will recover soon after this momentary setback.

Congratulations on your 2nd-anniversary guys. Would like to confirm whether PoW block reward and PoS block rewards have already been reduced or not? If not then at what block height will the reward be reduced at?

Thanks

We're Pirate DEX, which is the of top-tier crypto exchange.

I'd like to list your fine project on our exchange, please tell me if you have any interest on us.

Yours faithfully,
Pirate DEX Support

Why would a top-tier crypto exchange would like to list a "fine" scam project like Minex to their exchange? Please at least bother to read few of the last posts in here and you will understand actually how bad this project really is for your exchange.

Republia is a scam ico. They have disappeared without any news. It looks like this one is a part of scam icos that already created by that guy and friends. So many scammers these days.
Republis a zombie project.

Republia has been rebranded as "PaxChain" https://paxchain.io

They claim it is a "merger" between Republia and Paxnet but it is not because Paxnet is a Korean tech company worth millions that has made acquisitions with millions of USD$ and has assets worth millions but Republia is a start up that has no assets and no future. The truth is Paxnet gave them access to their office in S.Korea to prove they can deliver what they claim but in the end they did nothing.

They are a bunch of dreamers and a bunch of scammers. In this case, like father like son because the scam gene runs through them both.

Better to stay away from any project they touch because sooner or later they will end up scamming us of our money and that Paxnet thingy sounds like a bigger scam to me lol. I think In next few months we will hear the news that Paxnet scammed Republia out of there money the same way they got scammed by the guy who was claiming to get them visa card contract lol.

I was thinking about using your deep-vault document verification service but my question is I sometimes deal with highly sensitive documents so would like to confirm that do you store any of documents that I will use the deepvault's service on?
https://deepvaultonline.com/ doesnt store any docs. After you choosing a file, Conversion to hash processing in your browser on your side and only final hash transferring to DeepVaultonline server and after this it makes transaction for blockchain stamp.
For testing it you can choose file 1gb size as example and you will notice high CPU and RAM loading (it is because your browser will calculate HASH of big file)
and all calculation time, tab with DeepVault web service will have zero network loading

Also if you dont really trust to web service, you can use just wallet for it, need DV version of wallet Smiley
https://deeponion.org/#download

Awesome thank you very much @bykardinal for explaining it so clearly. I did as you asked me so I tried to use deepvault service on a big file and you were right my RAM and CPU shot up significantly. The DeepOnion team created one helluva service.

If I remember correctly they created another project named republia or something. Is that project in the same condition as well? I am kinda glad that I listened to JollyGood and few other members here otherwise my there would have another financial dent on me lol.

I was re-downloading the wallet from your website and came across the three links of the windows wallet which one should I use if I want the wallet to get synced quicker (I haven't synced my wallet for more than a year). Or did you guys also created a web-based wallet which doesn't require us to sync with the network?
There is a web-based wallet but it's not official. If you didn't sync for a year then probably you are on the old chain and you will need to download the latest wallet. Non-DV is a wallet without DeepVault and it starts faster, download it if you are not planning to use DeepVault. Here is the QuickSync guide:
https://deeponion.org/community/support-tickets/knowledge-base/quicksync-guide.5/

Edit found the non-official paper wallet link: https://walletgenerator.net/?currency=DeepOnion but you must take the necessary precautions like generating the private key offline using a secure device.

Thank you very much for the links and the information. Can you also please tell me what's the current blockchain size because I would have to download the client accordingly. and the quick sync feature is only going to work on the non-DV version, right?
You are welcome. The current blockchain size is around 1.7GB and the QuickSync works for both of the DV and the non-DV wallet. However, I don't know if QuickSync will work on the mobile wallet. Segwit is in the process of being activated to make the transactions a lot faster with reduced cost and less block size Smiley
There is a proposal to integrate DeepOnion with the Electrum wallet for those who do not want to download the blockchain.  Cool

Electrum wallet would be really really cool addition in my opinion especially for guys like me who don't like to sync wallet daily. BTW downloaded the non-DV version of the wallet and set it up with quick sync feature and the wallet synced fairly quickly ty once again Cheesy

Sorry was not much active here but I heard someone mentioning that SONM is planning to switch to the binance chain can someone please confirm whether is true or fake news? If it's true then is there any ETA for that?
Thanks

Hello,

The plans are not switching to the Binance Chain, but integration with it.

You can find information in our new roadmap: https://sonm.com/blog/sonm-roadmap/

~snip~

Best regards,
Sonm support team

Awesome thanks for the information Alex. So you guys will integrate with the binance chain this year, right? Asking this because I read the roadmap you posted here but there were no dates/quarters mentioned in those. Is there any ETA for that?
