81  Other / Meta / Re: [List] Suspected users that are abusing merit 3.0 on: April 01, 2018, 01:31:08 PM
I would like to add one case here:

User profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1462251

Merit history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1462251

He has got 5 merits each from two members:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=232358
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=178502

Both these profiles already got negative trust and it is mentioned that these accounts can be stolen.

He was merited for this post

Hey, guys. Today I thought about what would happen if I cease to diversify their risks, sell all altcoins. Leaving all in bitcoins and wait until the rest of my Deposit will not grow.

Will I be able to earn more money for 2018 with this strategy? Huh

I already did so in the summer of 2017, leaving 60% of my Deposit in ETH for six months and did not regret it. I advise you to think about this strategy. Thank you all for your answers.

Another member possibly involved:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=103589

his merit history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=103589

If we see his merit history, he got merits from same members multiple times in bulk. They may be involved.

82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC price in March 2017 on: April 01, 2018, 01:25:56 PM
Bitcoins value this march have bracketed the lowest at 6000$ and the highest at 9k$. At the end of march bitcoin fell down again at 6800$ but this is just temporary since starting the next month April bitcoins going to increase again in value. Twitters announcement of banning cryptocurrency related ads and ICO's will actually benefit bitcoin. As the Twitter CEO said that bitcoin may be the only remaining cryptocurreny online; this means that all other cryptocurrency may disappear and only bitcoin will remain.

If all other coins disappear , this will have a number of benefits:

1) The money people are investing in alt coins will come back to bitcoins. A lot of people had moved on to alt coins for quicker profits and if all of them come back, it will be helpful for bitcoins.

2) It will also help the investors as they need not waste time searching for alt coins to invest. I really have hard time understanding how people are able to mange investment in 40-50 alt coins at a time.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we share our knowledge to the other people about bitcoin??? on: April 01, 2018, 01:22:23 PM
Hello everyone!!!

What can you say about it??  Can you share some tips or some things that might help other people with this??

Here is how you can motivate others to invest in bitcoins:

1) Share your bitcoin or crypto investment experience on social media websites. These will let your friends know that bitcoins are not scam as they will see their friends investing in it and making money. Make sure that you do not disclose all the financial information as it can be risky.

2) Participate in discussions on crypto related forums and blogs. People reading this will get informed about crypto.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: April 01, 2018, 01:16:45 PM
What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?

In that all bitcoin market would collapse. Most of the investors will loose a lot of money and the common man (who has invested after bitcoins became popular) will suffer the most. However, I do not think that this is going to happen:

1) I am sure that US government would have done their research about bitcoins already. If they had to ban bitcoins, they would have done it already.

2) Many countries have see their citizens earning with bitcoins and it increases their revenue also as they get tax on these earnings.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you love Bitcoin? on: April 01, 2018, 11:56:13 AM
I love bitcoin because bitcoin has actually made me a lot of money that would have taken me years to make at my day job all because I held onto my coins and didn't sell when everyone else was.

Most of the people like bitcoins of this fact only. I was also able to make good money with the help of bitcoins which would never have been possible with the bank deposits I was using in the past. I was able to double my money in just one year with bitcoins. With the highest interest rate provided in bank deposit, this would take 9 years. I also like bitcoins because it is such an amazing concept and it used by a number of people all over the world.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Make Money in Crypto on: April 01, 2018, 11:43:57 AM
Good day as I am new to the crypto world What is really the way to make $ in in crypto ? such as Bitcoin or other coins?

I understand as i have some invested. in my wallets the values go up and down, so you can cash out or sell when value up?

do you just buy and sell currency as the markets move up and down? or what other ways to make $ with crypto?
do you transfer bitcoin over to other websites etc?

or what should i be focusing on? thanks

just like to know what all the experts do?
There are a number of ways that individuals can earn crypto. But unfortunately, just as in real life, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Any way of earning bitcoin will require something in exchange, whether it’s your time or your knowledge or your computer’s processing power. Your first option is to just buy coins. There are different exchanges that will allow you to buy or trade coins to keep in your wallet. One of the most popular exchanges is Coinbase. Another option is by doing bounty, you will work with a given task, in return they pay you crypto if you fulfilled the task.

Mining or investing in bitcoins requires lot of investment to get good profits. There are various other ways to make some bitcoins without investing any money:

1) Signature campaigns: This forum has a number of signature campaigns running all the time that pay in bitcoins. Minimum you need to be eligible for this is junior member. You have to make some posts per week and you are paid accordingly.

2) Translation, signature designs: There are various other jobs like translation and signature designs that also pay in bitcoins.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Sure Bitcoin Never Ends? on: April 01, 2018, 11:39:55 AM
To make sure that it continues to grow then we should continuously use bitcoin and spread the good news about bitcoin to the people. Through that, we can assure that bitcoin life will never end and grows bigger instead.

Both the two things you mentioned are important to make bitcoins more popular:

1) Using bitcoins for payment  : When you mention using bitcoins, I think you are referring to using it as payment medium. When you are sending bitcoins to a person who have never used it, it gives him  a chance to try this. He can then also start investing if he finds the technology useful.

2) Promoting bitcoins: This will also help to make bitcoins popular. But we should focus on advertising in print and TV media. Internet users are already aware.
88  Economy / Speculation / Re: April will be around 5000 - and then further down on: April 01, 2018, 10:52:21 AM
If you look at the total developments - and not at the wild volatility from day to day:

December on average was around 15.000$ for BTC
Peak was in December where BTC was at 20000$
January was on average around 12.500$
February was around 10.000$
March was around 7.500$

It is not difficult at all to see where this is going......

You should not forget that before December it was $10000 also. It moved to $20000 in very less time and this was just due to manipulation by big whales. Since there were no reasons behind this increase, the price had to get corrected. What you see now is the reasonable price for bitcoin. You can expect it to grow steadily and it may reach $30000 based on the growth it has shown in past 8 years. We may see more manipulation and you can also cash out with it.
89  Other / Meta / Re: Activity, Merit, Politeness, fMerit, Imagination, Virtue, Coins, Karma, Posts !! on: April 01, 2018, 10:37:36 AM
I logged in and was afraid, what does it mean. Nice joke, 1st april I forgot Cheesy. ¨
This is not a joke and is real as confirmed by the admin. You better not laugh at his decisions or your politeness meter will go down. Smiley I think I was little harsh on you so sorry (actually I do not want my politeness meter to go down as well). It would be interesting to see other members removing the harsh words they used in past posts to improve their polite score. Smiley

But Merit is also good joke and could be removed after 1st April, haha Cheesy

Of course, it will be removed. Wait for 1st April 2019. Why should members have all the fun on single day ?
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOOGLE hasn't banned BITCOIN advertising on: April 01, 2018, 10:29:29 AM
Here's what Google said:

https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/7648803

My first comment is that there's never been any BTC advertisement. Who would pay for it? The BTC's foundation? This board's webmaster? As there's no corporation, nor an individual owning BTC, there can't be any kind of advertising. The only ads I've ever seen were for lousy ICOs, shitcoins, trading and exchanges websites where you can make a deposit but not a withdrawal, trading consultants who screw you with the promise to show you how not to get screwed, and super safe crypto-wallets where your private keys are automatically sent to a smart angel in East Russia. Google wants to ban all that? I say thanks Google!

It is true that Google has not banned bitcoin advertisements. They are concerned about the shady alt coins only as allowing those ads can hamper their image. They also do not want their uses to fall for these scammy offers.

However, a new person or someone with less knowledge about crypto will not be able to understand this. When they listen then news that crypto advertisements are being banned, they will think that bitcoins ads are also getting banned.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is owning bitcoin a crime? on: April 01, 2018, 10:24:51 AM
Is owning money a crime? Because money facilitates the trading of such illegal things, too. If/when Bitcoin is regulated in your country of residence and you are obligated by law to declare any possession of Bitcoin but you haven't done so, then owning Bitcoin might be illegal.

Completely agree. Cash and banks are also used by criminals and corrupt people. In fact, they must be having more money in banks that normal working people with jobs or small businesses. Will you stop touching cash as well. I was reading a thread here were a news was reported that some university is doing research and will reveal the source of coins in wallets of all people and how many have coins which are hacked. Waste of time in my opinion.
92  Other / Meta / Re: New new rank requirements on: April 01, 2018, 10:19:30 AM
I cannot believe you did so much work to make this April fool successful. I made a post and then noticed all those extra things mentioned in the left side like politeness, fmerit, coins, karma and all. My heart started beating faster with the hope that we have some new system for ranking. Immediately moved to meta and found this post. Could not believe that some are still falling for this post and praising the "NEW MERIT SYSTEM".

You should remove these imaginary stats before someone gets a heart attack here. Also some smart champs may try editing past posts to make them more polite.

"Please sir".

"Thank you sir"
93  Other / Meta / Re: New new ultimate guide to ranking up as fast as possible (MODERATOR IN 7 WEEKS) on: April 01, 2018, 10:16:23 AM
I followed this guide for just two hours, and I have ranked up to Full Member! Can you believe I was just a newbie earlier today? This new system makes it much easier to rank up. To all other Newbies, there is hope!

I think the rank update is on Tuesday. Looks like there are some exclusions to this rule if:

1) You include at least 10 "Dear Sir" in your posts. Better is you end the posts with ".thank you"

2) You post at least 10 memes in an hour.

3) You buy at least 27 coins in a day.

If you cannot do any of these, just make a single humorous post on 1st April (Year does not matter). This is why you ranked up.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's official Amazon now accepts Bitcoin directly on: April 01, 2018, 10:03:24 AM
This is good news for the cryptocurrency community as we need all the good news we can get now due to prices being low and people could use hearing some good news at this point.

You still did not get the point. This was April Fool Joke. Even if the OP has mentioned that it is April fool joke, a lot of members will fall for this and comment how this decision will help bitcoins.

We certainly do not want such clueless people to invest in bitcoins. They do not have the time to even verify a major news related o bitcoin, how can we expect them to make sensible decisions related to their bitcoin investments.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you afraid of hackers? on: March 31, 2018, 02:01:04 PM
Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?

It is one of my concerns while investing in bitcoins. This can happen to any investor and it can be really frustrating to loose your hard earned money without any fault of yours. All one can do is to take precautions and all safety measures while investing. One should store the coins in physical wallets, use only trusted exchanges and split the investment at different places. Also, make sure that you do not share private keys with friends as they might steal your coins.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to buy Eth? on: March 31, 2018, 01:58:50 PM
Ethereum is in its early stage in my opinion. If there were less number of alt coins, I would have invested a lot of money in it. But since there are so many coins now, the money of investors gets divided in all these and thus the leading coins will have limited growth.

Still Ethereum has some potential in my opinion. It is not only a payment option but have other uses like staking. The transactions are also faster in comparison to that of bitcoins. You can invest some money in Ethereum at current levels.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you buying altcoins on: March 31, 2018, 01:56:22 PM
With BTC in such a strong uptrend atm, are you buying altcoins right now? A lot of them are kind of 'cheap' and have been falling while BTC have been increasing.

Most of my crypto investment is done on bitcoins only. However, I have invested some money on alt coins to diversify. I have invested in Ripple also. The current crypto market is about $120 million. It is set to reach about $1 trillion. Now the current share of Ripple is about 17% and if the crypto market reaches $1 Trillion, Ripple prices will become about 10 times. This is certainly a good return on investment and thus I  advise everyone to invest some money in Ripple as well.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Scam, prettiest lie ever told.... on: March 31, 2018, 01:53:45 PM
....
Ethereum left and right, presented as a great opportunity, future currency etc etc etc then
....

this is the biggest problem in this market.
people read something on the Internet written by some random person who they don't even know and/or trust and they believe it because it is said over and over again everywhere they look.

i wouldn't call ETH scam. it is just a pump and dump, or maybe it is just me and a pump and dump is pretty normal to me.

you should not get your hopes up in these cases, get in and then get out soon. nothing except bitcoin has a solid future. the rest are all doomed.

Yes, most of these coins are just riding the popularity of bitcoins. They all claim to be the next bitcoin which is the biggest problem with these coins in my opinion. They should claim to be themselves and focus on their features instead of copying bitcoin.

It is just like other businesses. Any service that started early will have the advantage. A lot of eCommerce companies tried to compete with Amazon but one was able to beat it. I also think that bitcoins will rule crypto forever.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin under 1$ to invest in now? on: March 31, 2018, 01:15:50 PM
Hello! Guys I am looking for coin under 1$ with some good Basics. maybe some coin that I can hold for 2 to 3 year. Am planning to add some more folios? All the suggestion are Open. Huh Huh

I will suggest you to go for Ripple which is about $0.5 currently. It got a number of advantages like:

1) It can handle 1500 transactions per second while BTC can handle only 24 transactions per second. ETH is even more bad with 16 transactions per second.

2) Ripple also has lower cost per transaction.

3) Ripple developers have succeeded in getting a lot of investors for their project. They are actively working to add more.

With all these factors combined, I expect Ripple to go to $10 this year itself.
100  Other / Meta / Re: Email confirmation on signup on: March 27, 2018, 07:44:05 PM
I think Mr. theymos are working on it like the KYC, and for your info, using someone email is a little bit risky when you are using different password for every account, not only your account for this forum but into other site too, when you forget your password with your account using someone's email it a bye bye moment!!

Next question: you can only use one email to create one account in this forum right?

No, this information is right. In a recent post, he mentioned that he is not going to implement any KYC here. You might be confused with his post as he stated using some phrase like "I will do it as soon as the hell freezes over". It means that he will not do this.

Even if you remember you password and are using the email of another user, it is very risky. He can always use the forgot password option and get access to your account. he does not need to know the current password for that purpose.
