81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: April 13, 2014, 04:35:08 PM
Tip:

If you haven't upgraded your CG miner to 4.2.2a I HIGHLY suggest you do.  I did 24 hours ago, and my HW error rate is 60% lower, and temps 2 deg C lower as well.

Don't know what changed, but I like it!

I followed the directions below TO THE LETTER and it worked like a charm!

https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1

Hello.
I would like update the CGMINER.  I do all in the post but If I go to SYSTEM / SOFTWARE, I see CGMINER Versión 3.12.0-1.

Could you help me ,please?.

Thank you in advanced.
Antuam

The system/software field will never update.  I asked this question a few pages back.  You can verify the version by typing a command in the SSH shell.  cgminer -V, I think.

I have 10 U2s.  Their total hashrate is reported correctly (Harbringer), but when you click the details, only one is reported - that's the issue.
The proxy is been buggy and is currently not in use.
I only have one S1.

Ah thank you! That makes more sense. Can you send me your ApiLog.json file found in the MultiMiner data folder (%appdata%\MultiMiner)? This sounds like the BFGMiner bug that was in a few of the pre-release binaries.

Here is the latest set of Windows binaries that has a fix for that included:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ddrw1rc7jjtiqs/bfgminer_gridseed_pr3.7z

I sent you a link to the logs in a PM.  It seems to be resolved with pr3.
I have also been having some odd issues with my S1 sometimes showing as offline (even when it isn't).

3 - While the server is working, it's still only showing 1 of 10 Antminers, and not my Stratum Proxy in the details.  Total hashrate is correct.

Can you PM me your MobileMiner application key please? Also, there were builds of BFGMiner that would not submit all the devices to MobileMiner properly (had a bug during 4.0 dev). Are you on either BFGMiner 3.10 or one of the latest builds from Git?

I'm currently using 4.0 PR2 from a link shared previously in this posting (I think from you).  I haven't been able to find the up-to-date dev builds, as I'm pretty much clueless at compiling from Git.  PM sent.

Can you explain a bit more about the problem you are having? You have 10 AntMiner S1s - is that correct? Do they all show up in MultiMiner? I do not see that they are being reported to MobileMiner at all (only one of them is).

Also, what is pointed at your Stratum Proxy? I only see a single AntMiner U1 reported in to MobileMiner.

I have 10 U2s.  Their total hashrate is reported correctly (Harbringer), but when you click the details, only one is reported - that's the issue.

Hi, I bought a PWM fan Coolink SWIF2 120P to be added to the S1, but the connector on the balde is different, and not fit. Which fan should I buy compatible with the S1 PWM connector.

Thanks in advance W_M

The S1 uses non-standard connectors.  Clip one side of the plastic guard with wire-cutters and plug it in anyways.

Found a small bug on one particular pool when I was doing some mining for a friend.  When mining to Coin-Pool (stratum+tcp://dem.coin-pool.org), the reported profitability was way out of whack.  Happened when using both coinbase and coinwarz, but as soon as I switched pools (ghash and Eligius are my mains), the numbers went back to about where I expected them to be.

Is this a multi-coin pool? If so there is currently no support for estimating profitability for these. There is no way for MultiMiner to know what coin the pool is mining and it looks like it is set as BTC. I do plan on adding support for multi-coin pools but need to look into the APIs for doing so.

Minor iOS MobileMiner bug.  When you tap on a miner, it pulls down the details.  After doing so, it is not possible to hide the small strip on the side for the details.  It would seem intuitive that you can click on a blank part of the miners and clear it, but the only way I've found to clear it is to kill the app.

Can you post a screenshot of this please? A picture is worth 1,000 words. Thank you!

Found another MobileMiner bug today.  In MoM, it's showing my total hash rates for my PC, but when you look at the advanced view, it's only showing the Stratum Proxy, and not the individual miners.  I have the individual miners set up on automine, and the proxy is set for just BTC.

There have been several server-side issues with MobileMiner this week. There have been some attacks, some fixes, and then some scaling to try to prevent future issues. Things should be stable now (and for the past day or so). Please let me know if not.

1 - No idea if it's a multi-pool, or not, never used is personally, but that makes sense.  Couldn't you detect the coin based off difficulty as reported by BFGminer?

2 - When you first open up MobileMiner, it looks like this:

When you click on an item to expand details, you can swipe left and right to view things, however, after doing so, there will forever after always be a strip for the details on the right side like this when you go back to the initial screen.

Expected behavior would be for it to go away when you swipe back to the first screen, or failing that, to go away when tapping in a blank area.  The second is less desirable, because some people have enough miners that it would not have a blank space.

3 - While the server is working, it's still only showing 1 of 10 Antminers, and not my Stratum Proxy in the details.  Total hashrate is correct.

Ok, so whos gonna cough up and buy me Vista, Win 7 or try to each me linux to which I dont understand a single damn thing about ?

No one, wow who'd have thunk it... ok so back to this XP thing !

There are entire OS distros geared towards mining.  I'm sure you could manage with very little research.
Goin on that idea, I would need a second working system which I don't have or replace the system on the existing laptop which isn't just for mining but my every day use.

So ATM, it's XP or nothing... unless someone has a Vista CD they can send me a copy of. I have a Vista key for this laptop.

It's about 6 yrs old but I originally replaced the OS with XP and it never did come with a Vista CD.

Download the same version of Vista on piratebay and use your key.

I just go two U2's but I can only seem to get one running... not using a hub, direct port off the WinXP laptop like I did with my BE's these replaced.
There's your problem. Your 13 year old operating system gets confused when devices look identical to it. Go win7 or just about any linux instead.
I respect the fact of you authoring CGMiner but do you really have to make that childish of a post instead of actually trying to help ?

I think he just did both.

So I've been trying out the stratum proxy on multi-miner, but it appears like it's super inefficient. I lose about 50% of my hash rate by going through it. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using a p2p pool or what.

That and the hashrate is wrong too. It's displaying GH's for MH's for scrypt.

I've had the same issue, but only with certain pools.  I was using iSpace, and it was constantly dropping out.  Worked fine on other pools (such as ghash and MultiPool.  It's likely an issue with compatibility with the proxy and BFGminer.  iSpace mentioned the bug on their twitter recently.

Point it a ghash and see if you have the same issue.  If you do, it's p2p that isn't compatible.

Hi. Is there a tutorial of how to overclock this antminer U2??

+1

i have 2 antminers U2+ and would like to know(in linux), with my raspberry pi, what command line do i need to overclock them.

Right now, they work without overclock at 1.95GH/s. and would like to increase it a bit, without damaging the antminer.

thanks

It depends on what mining software you are using.  Start with this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=390929.0

I have raspberry pi with minepeon (MinePeon-0.2.4.6-RaspberryPi.img).

Installed it into a sd card, and i use browser to access minepeon.

I have to antminers U2 connected in an usb hub to the raspberry pi.

I have a question.

The 2 antminers U2 are mining, but they are using default bfgminer.

I would like to know if you recommend me better to use cgminer, and where can i find a tutorial for installing it.

I just installed last minepeon version for raspberry pi, and then just setup the pool url with user and pass, and its mining, but i dont know if its better to use cgminer or not.

Thanks!
In my experience, there is no significant difference between the two insofar as performance is concerned.  Your only differences will be features, and for your needs it doesn't sound like it matters.

I am not an electronics guru. I am a merely man with some soldering equipment and a willingness to injure myself and damage sensitive electronic equipment.

So pardon me if this is a silly question...

Am I to take it that by replacing the resistors per this chart we can increase the voltage and thus reach the hash rates beyond the published overclockable speed? (Which would presumably require increasing the ability of the U1 to dissipate heat.)
Huh

I am having a hard time believing it would be that easy but the ASICMINER upgrades were (after a huge thread of experiments by many talented individuals https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241652.0)

The Antminer S2 does not appear to have the same resistor configuration.  Has anyone looked into what would be required to increase the voltage?

Did you meant "U2?
I read somewhere those already have the resistors soldered on.

Yes, the U2.  They do, but they seem to have OC issues at anything higher than 2.4Ghash.  Seems to be a voltage issue.

Multiminer software stops mining itself. All my rigs  stop and start itself.  And also mobileminer monitor app shows incorrect informations.

I'm showing something similar.  All of my miners are still mining, but mobileminer shows them as being offline.  Server problems?

I've not gotten it to work either.  1.0 gives a 0x1 error, and 1.05 loads to a blank white screen.  I reached out to the developer, but no response as yet.

Got mine a few days ago.  I gotta say, I'm impressed by these little guys.  They're pushing out 2.4Ghash/sec with 0% HW.

are you running it with the u1's? i would like to OC the one i have but i have two u1s that dont like more lol
Nope, but if I was, I'd use two clients, one with a proxy, one to point to it.
