81  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Buy directly from LKETC, they dropped the price to 1599.88 shipped on: June 20, 2014, 04:06:37 AM
Thanks for the answers guys. Easyminer how are you liking the 2t miner you just got? Any advantages in pricing/ wattage? My power is fairly cheap .1025 kwh so power is a bit less important but still something to consider. Are you going to be doing group buys on the bigger rockbox or do you have another miner in mind?

Any interest in adding TeKcoin to the sha 256 multipool it seems to be a very interesting coin. Its coming alive in the last few weeks. Hopefully it or another sha 256 coin will become a viable alternative to bitcoins. Competition among coins is always good.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 19, 2014, 10:56:22 PM
Great news!! I expect the price will start slowly rising until we hit number 3 in mintpal votes then it will take off. We just need to all keep mentioning and watching XBC it takes a lot to keep crypto coin users attention. And overcome the fud. So don't give up and keep at it guys we are so so close.

I would say as deep as your in you may as well make the best of it. I havent followed the Viper Miner rollout but assuming its legit you would likely make more back going ahead and keeping it. I wish you great luck getting your money back out of it no matter how you do it.

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt miner by zeus miner, will it ROI? on: June 19, 2014, 10:27:25 PM
I was in the first batch of Zeus miner's blizzard in fact. My roi is almost here I got in a a good pump with some coins that I mined. If you stick with the hands off method of mining ltc or doge I would guess if you make roi it will take you a long time. Do you research there are many coins beyond ltc that make money.  Yes its hard work and some luck involved but it happens all the time.

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TEKcoin Very profitable Alt you may have missed. on: June 19, 2014, 10:16:32 PM
it would be fantastic to have 2 viable sha 256 coins. I hope this coin or perhaps another coin really takes off this summer. Does the pos in TeKcoin help guard against the 51% attack a lot or is it just a drop in the bucket?

87  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Open Source Block Erupter Project on: June 19, 2014, 09:43:00 PM
Anybody working on upgrades for the original block erupter cube? Or maybe drop in cards I had seen mentioned earlier? If thats not possible can we open source all the block erupter cube and blade info. I would like for the community to have a shot at recycling them or at least underclock them a bit.

Not going to lie. I am slightly frustrated at not knowing for sure if I submitted info correctly. I must not have because I didn't get added to todays list. So I resubmit 1 more time. I am sure it will smooth out soon though. Stunna has a great rep. Its just me being impatient.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex to take Mintpals place soon? on: June 19, 2014, 04:46:43 AM
Why limit yourself. I use many exchanges. I buy and sell at the best prices. To do anything different imo is short-sighted  assuming of course they are safe and you practice safe online techniques such as 2fa. Not repeating passwords

Bitstamp or Btc e in my opinion they are 2 of the biggest and been around for a fair amount of time.  Just be prepared to send documents proving you are who you tell them you are. Its fairly slow depending on which exchange you pick. Btc e being faster at least for me.

I was all set to order this but now I am hesitating. I think a lot rides on price of s3 compared to rk-box. I think a price drop will be needed before they even release. Good for us bad for Rocksie.

92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Marshall's auction.... It's a trap !!! on: June 19, 2014, 01:51:12 AM
Pitiful the US marshal who made this mistake should be banned from email for a long long time. If I was one of the buyers I would be furious at such a basic fundamental error. You can bet if you made the same mistake and divulged a bunch of US marshal's who wanted to remain private there would be more repercussion than oops sorry.

Sorry if I missed it. Was there a winner of the contest to develop the software? Litecointalk is blocked where I work so I cannot check it. Thanks to Darkwinde and company for the bfgminer port. Its much appreciated.

94  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Has mining reached the end? ( at least in the US ) on: June 19, 2014, 01:35:46 AM
People have been saying this since the big drop from 1200. Can you lose money mining yes. I am very close to that point with my old block erupter cube. Going to unplug them sometime next month. There are also people making money.

The sales of miners would be dropping more if they wasn't selling. Only so many people that keep buying despite losing money. Some miners may not keep track of their costs but I would bet most all of them are at least breaking even or close to it.

I would also suggest some of the difficulty projections are very pessimistic is it going up yes but maybe not at 40% per month for the next 6 months.

96  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Proxy mining program problem?!? on: June 19, 2014, 01:18:15 AM
I have block erupter cube. And that has happened to me before (very rarely). The previous suggestion was correct make sure you re enter the settings even if they appear correct. I would also suggest rebooting the computer while your at it. If i remember correctly with mine the ip address changed on a reboot. So check your IP address first.

Yes, I have received it and deleted it immediately. It was confirmed to be malware by other trusted forum members. I suggest you never ever click on a link from a new member who randomly messages you.

98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can I use mineral oil as cooling system for GridSeed unit? on: June 19, 2014, 01:07:24 AM
Are you doing this for fun? Or to learn for the future? The Gridseeds just don't seem to be hot enough to go to this trouble in my opinion. You could buy more equipment with what you will spend on tanks and oil more than likely.

99  Bitcoin / Hardware / s2 or dragon miner on: June 18, 2014, 04:13:39 AM
So I have been saving up for a while to get a btc miner. I am debating between an s2 or 1t dragon miner. I havent seen any direct comparison. Do any of you guys/girls have both. Does one overclock better than the other? I believe power draw is a bit lower on the dragon miner.

Any opinions are very welcome

Thanks

100  Economy / Economics / Re: Price back to 400$ on: June 18, 2014, 03:52:01 AM
I think it will go down around june 23 for a few days. Until people see what happens with the doj silkroad bitcoin sale. Then I predict it will hit 700 by the end of July. Hopefully higher but I am a natural pessimist.
