82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stolen BItcoin on: August 23, 2018, 10:00:05 AM
I have recently been involved in an investment scam and was part of a group of 150+ investors.
We sent BTC to a specific address but, there were at least 3 others used as well.
In addition, one of our group believes they've found a 5th BTC address, which appears to be holding a pooled amount, which is still there - about $1.9m.
Does anyone have any experience of tracing bitcoin?
What can we do to get it back or access it?

I can't believe how you guys can send to someone you don't know that much money mate? My hands are shaking when I transfer a couple of tokens to my own wallet. Cheesy
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thread : HOW TO PROTECT YOURS BITCOIN & ALTCOINS ! on: August 23, 2018, 09:54:19 AM
If you hold less than 1.5/2 BTC , do not buy a ledger wallet or others stuffs like that.

I don't understand this advice. A ledger costs less than $100. I would say if you are holding even a few thousand dollars worth of Bitcoin, especially long-term, then a ledger or other hardware wallet is a good investment.

I agree. If you are holding a few thousands of USD worths Bitcoin, it totally worth to buy one. I would get one to myself as soon as I get half of a Bitcoin. Smiley
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They want you to panic :-> on: August 22, 2018, 10:10:44 PM
When the price of a commodity drop with no reason, you should know that it is being manipulated. The reasons for this is quite simple, because a lot of people know this is a fake crash and they are going to make millions, when other people start to panic and start selling their coins at these low prices.

The secret to maximize your profits in this game is to buy coins at the lowest price possible and then again to sell at the highest price possible.

What do you do if people are hoarding their coins and refuse to sell? You simulate a fake crash by stockpiling your coins over a long period and then dumping those coins at once to trigger a small crash. You then buy back these coins at a lower price than what you bought them and wait for the market to recover.

This is what is happening now, because there is NO reason for this sudden drop in the price? Hold onto those coins as long as you can, because these greedy bastards will manipulate the markets to cause chaos and panic.

Exactly! Every trader should learn this before trading! Keeping calm and monitoring the market is the key to handle it. Smiley
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan's FSA Declaration about Cryptocurrency Regulations on: August 22, 2018, 10:06:13 PM
Japan's FSA (Finanical Services Agency) states that they have no intention to "excessively" regulate Cryptocurrency
- “We have no intention to curb (the crypto industry) excessively,” he told the publication. “We would like to see it grow under appropriate regulation", said Toshihide Endo.
Japan has a very welcoming stance regarding cryptocurrency and was one of the first countries to make Bitcoin legal tender.

https://bitcoinist.com/japan-fsa-no-excessively-regulate-cryptocurrency/

That is a pretty good decision. Kudos to them!

Thanks for sharing.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin Supports Bitcoin Cash as the Adoptable Crypto on: August 22, 2018, 10:02:06 PM
I stumbled upon this article on Coindol: https://coinidol.com/vitalik-buterin-supports-bitcoin-cash-as-the-adoptable-crypto-discusses-his-vision/

Quote
Vitalik Buterin Supports Bitcoin Cash as the Adoptable Crypto, Discusses his Vision

Vitalik Buterin, the mastermind behind Ethereum and a Crypto maniac, has revealed his dream of a commercial sphere for Crypto. In his sphere though, he isn't spending Ethereum and Bitcoin, but rather Bitcoin Cash.

Vitalik lately discussed the state of Ethereum and the future of Crypto Blockchain tech during his speech at a small function in Berkeley. Among his major focuses is the great idea that the future for Crypto falls within open regulations which are created to shield users and protect cryptocurrency while letting users spend it without any barrier. It appears that Vitalik strongly believes Bitcoin Cash is the best and decent currency for this. Maybe Roger Very has been getting to Vitalik a little?

What is your thoughts about this one? Is Vitalik shilling for Bitcoin Cash now?

Or this is another fake news coming from the Bitcoin Cash proponents? I never thought that Vitalik though is pro Bitcoin Cash although I read that he and Craig Wright doesn't go along very well and even calling Craig a fraud.

Sorry, but it totally looks like a fake news and that's a pretty bad way to shill a coin imho. Smiley

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why does coins change price constantly? on: August 16, 2018, 07:16:01 AM
Why does coins prices fluctuate so much and it is never been constant making predicting price much harder and much riskier and holding on to coins can be the best way right now.

why does it change prices constantly and never stagnant?

Because there are no regulations and there are tons of newbies that have no idea what to do and also whales of course.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does crypto offer riches overnight? on: August 16, 2018, 07:13:58 AM
Yes, it does offer riches overnight but too many years and a night... Smiley
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Algorithm to find out altcoin scam on: August 16, 2018, 07:12:17 AM
There are quiet a few geniuses here but has anyone come up with a method or an algorithm to find out when someone's scamming people?

There are too many different parameters that nobody can detect by an algorithm. So, I think it's not possible.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why so many peoples belived in pump 2018? on: August 16, 2018, 07:05:57 AM

Without believing it, that's impossible. You need to believe first. If everyone was believed, it would be bullish... Simple as that. Smiley
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: wasted 3-4 months in bounty and at end got nothing ?? on: August 16, 2018, 07:00:02 AM
You have to choose the bounty that has a good and reliable manager. If you are feeling depressed that your efforts were wasted that's the other side of bounties.
If they aren't able to reach their soft/hard cap they will never pay your efforts so if you want to get paid with the bounty you are joining. Just choose the bounty that has an experienced bounty manager and assures the participants to get paid.

Totally! If you choose an unreliable manager then he/she really annoys you and takes your life energy! Definitely not worth it. I think finding a good, reliable and responsive manager is a really important thing.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why so many bounty campaign are extending? on: August 16, 2018, 06:52:47 AM
Due to lot of scammed ICO more investors lost their interest investing in ICO. Success rate of ICO decreased that is why bounty campaign period nowadays are extending. Do you agree?

Not only due to scammed ICOs. Due to bear season they can't reach their goals usually and extend their campaigns. Also there are too many competitors now and it causes to value loss for them when they listed on an exchange. So, people choose to buy cheaper from exchanges usually.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will survive on: August 16, 2018, 06:46:54 AM
Cryptocurrency  is like a water in a bowl, the water moves but the bowl determines the flow

We crypto users are the Bowl. The reality of life is do you do the right things with the water (altcoins, bitcoins, Etherum Huh )

This simply means only crypto users causes the bearish moment and the bull run
Make the right decisions

Yeah, I agree but some of the crypto users don't want us to be bullish together!
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of questions and answers are the same on: August 16, 2018, 06:31:43 AM
So, reading the first 2 pages of topics on this forum I have noticed that every single question is either:
- Will Bitcoin be the most amazing thing ever?
- Will bitcoin crash and burn?

Almost every answer is exactly the same:
- It will be amazing because "I believe", "I have faith" etc etc
- It will crash and burn because it has no value/too volatile/the secret world society will not let it be mainstream, whatever...
- No-one knows but I will write a ton of words which say that.

Whether Bitcoin ends up rising in value, replacing global financial systems, crashing etc etc the answer is nothing more than NO ONE KNOWS....
Your "faith" "belief" etc in it is irrelevant, unless you can manipulate the price, news, etc you have no influence over its success.

All you are doing is taking a gamble/speculating.... you may get lucky or not.... just make sure it is money that won't ruin your life if it all goes away.

I bought some bitcoin because I am greedy and want it to go up in price so I can sell to someone else for more money.
Is it the best investment.... of course not....
But is it fun, hell yes!

Trading it can be fun, like going to a casino where you think you know how the cards are stacked.....

And you are right that nearly 99% of the questions and andwers are the same (yours included). But that is okay. Because the forum is meant for such discussions and sharing of the little knowledge we have that might prove to be useful for some.

Just like you, i always say the same, invest what you only can, what is extra. Never push beyond your financial limits. If investing to bitcoin is too risky for you then pause and think of it for a moment.

And yes, no one knows what the future holds specially in a volatile environment such as cryptocurrency.

And these sort of discussions are essential part of us stocking knowledge and learning from each other's experience to do better and have a greater sense of judgement.  So i hope you don't get tired of the same questions and answers that you are encountering here, it helps many of us one way or the other. Trust me.

Well said! Couldn't agree more. Pushing beyond our financial limits takes all the fun of it!
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What am I to do? on: August 11, 2018, 10:17:19 PM
Now all the markets are crashing down and I don't know what to do with my altcoins. My briefcase fell 30% in a couple of days. I'm afraid I might lose more. Selling or hodl?

You seem like panicking. Smiley Whatever you will do, do it yourself mate. You have Full Member rank in here. So, you should be pretty much familiar with cryptocurrencies and known what to do in my humble opinion. Smiley
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your views on cryptocurrencies on: August 11, 2018, 10:13:25 PM
How do you view the current condition of coin prices, will it have an impact on the sustainability of cryptocurrencies?

It is as expected if you ask me. Nobody has an exact answer but I think that the sustainability of cryptocurrencies depends on the project's success for the long term mainly.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull Market has come? on: August 11, 2018, 10:02:28 PM
Bitcoin breaks $8,000 and still increases every hour. The whole market, altcoins are also  green and solid growth. This is the best new today for crypto enthusiastic. I think that the Bull Market has come. What do you think?

I think the bull market hasn't come yet. $8,000 break was based on the ETF proposal and it is postponed. So the bull market is postponed too. I think the market needs a strong momentum to break its cycle and I'm expecting that in the near future...
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Market all RED today. I am so scared on: August 11, 2018, 09:40:58 PM
I think that at the end of 2017, when everyone thought that our life as crypto investors was already resolved, nobody imagined that we would be going through such pessimistic and unexpected moments as we are going through today. It is true that at this point last year the price of bitcoin was almost half of what it is today, however the expectations were too many after the vertiginous closing of the year.

Today we do not have many alternatives other than to assume losses or to persist in holding our coins, but given the uncertainty of the market, any decision we make is nothing more than an act of faith.

I think you sound a bit pessimistic, my friend. Smiley

As long as the projects that you holding their coins solve a real-life problem and has a solid team it is way more than an act of faith imho. Smiley
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins will die due to Bitcoin bull run(ETF, big institutional investors)? on: August 11, 2018, 09:28:58 PM
Hi, crypto enthusiasts!
I am thinking about recent situation on the crypto market. It seems that Bitcoin found the bottom and big investments are coming, but if you look at altcoins, almost every altcoin is bleeding and money is now moving into Bitcoin. Current Bitcoin dominance 47%!
Don´t you think that this could be end for many altcoins? Big institutional investors will not invest into altcoins...
What is your opinion.
Thank you!

No, it is normal for altcoins to bleed once the bitcoin price starts to rise. Once bitcoin price became stable and increased, the altcoin price will start recovering, investors will buy back on altcoins. Some altcoin might die, especially those who have no working product or no real purpose.

Exactly. ETF postponed for now but that doesn't matter. It will be accepted in the near future and it will have a big impact on all the good projects (even for the bad ones). Smiley
