NEM partners with Blockchain Global.

http://www.econotimes.com/NEMio-Foundation-teams-up-with-Blockchain-Global-to-drive-global-expansion-778676

The NEM.io Foundation, the creator of the peer-to-peer NEM blockchain platform, has entered into a strategic alliance with Blockchain Global, an Australia-based blockchain company operating international auditing and network infrastructure services.

According to the official release, the partnership is aimed at expanding NEM’s reach while facilitating mainstream adoption of blockchain technology internationally. The first initiative under the partnership will be to open a Blockchain Center in August 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to serve as an incubator, accelerator, and coworking space.

“We’re proud to work with the NEM.io Foundation, as we believe their blockchain technology platform is the future standard for mainstream enterprise and organizational infrastructures,” said Sam Lee, CEO of Blockchain Global. “The opening of a nonprofit blockchain center in Malaysia allows both Blockchain Global and NEM to pursue our missions to foster mainstream innovation and adoption internationally.”

The 10,000-square-foot Blockchain Center will house the NEM Blockchain Innovation Lab, a headquarter for research and development as well as regional support for organizations interested in using the NEM platform within their IT infrastructures. Later this year, NEM plans to work with Blockchain Global to develop a cryptocurrency exchange for the NEM ecosystem. Blockchain Global previously built ACX.io, Australia’s largest Bitcoin exchange by volume.

“We’re excited to partner with Blockchain Global in this rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem,” said Lon Wong, president of the NEM.io Foundation. “This strategic alliance will fuel expanded reach, deeper collaboration, and multiplication of value as we journey towards developing blockchain hubs around the world.”

Based in Singapore, the NEM.io Foundation aims to promote NEM’s blockchain technology globally. It is expected to spend around $40 million in the next year to fund its global expansion programs. $5 million will be allocated towards supporting blockchain companies incubated in the Blockchain Center.

That's big news!

Not sure but I think at the moment NEM is among the highest ROI. Back in the days a stake was 0,05 BTC (for some it was free) which equaled to about $25 at that time. Currently that same stake of 2,2500,000 NEM is worth around 360,000. That's a 13,000x return. And I know some people that are still holding strong with great news coming out every day. Who know's maybe we'll see 100,000x soon.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are these people completely insane? on: June 27, 2017, 08:46:21 AM
I am watching the EOS consensus presentation.

So you mean to tell me that EOS is supposed to solve ETH's scaling issues, and replace ETH, but it is going to run on the Ethereum blockchain.... and not a single technical proof of why it should be able to run millions of transactions per second.

I remember when people used to accuse bitcoin of being akin to the tulip craze. I could easily refute them in a way a 12 year old could understand. With these ICOs.... I just can't, and there seems to be a total absence of people who can. It's like, I didn't understand bitcoin or ethereum and people made a bunch of money with it, so I should invest in anything I don't understand!!! And then use some buzz words that make it sounds like the next big thing, which will be fine as long as no one asks me to explain the concepts underlying these buzzwords...

You clearly haven't put in the effort to understand the project. Read the white paper, it should clear some things up.
To respond to your first comment, the erc20 token is just placeholder to jumpstart the projects. The tokens will be ported to the EOS network once it is launched (in 340 days).

Does anyone here know how to get invited to the telegram group?

https://t.me/nemred

Thanks!

On another note, does someone around here have a good NEM banner or something to put in my signature?

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Fundamentally good coins that are weak right now (building floor, low volume) on: June 26, 2017, 12:31:30 PM
NEM/XEM for sure. Limited marketing but the best fundamentals of any coin out there. The only coin with an enterprise ready platform once catapult is released. Will offer side-chains, thousands of transactions per second and programmable contracts through namespaces and mosaics just like Ethereum.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 26, 2017, 11:52:58 AM
Actually if you read the telegram post, there is lots of positive remarks from Lon if anything.
I think gentlemand is taking it out of context.
They are currently exploring options for marketing using community funds.

I think this is a good step forward, and will grab more market share.

We have Lon to thank for reaching 2 billion dollar marketcap with little to no money spent on marketing.

Now that we can afford some marketing, it makes sense to do so.  Cheesy

Really surprises me that keyboard warriors come here and complain about price etc when they are not happy about what we have already achieved without the hype.

This is what makes NEM special and stand out from the rest, we have got far without hype, but we dont want to create a false pump either.

Lon is smart, believe me.  Smiley

Hi there! How do I go about joining the telegram group? The link in the OP does not seem to be valid anymore.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 26, 2017, 10:00:02 AM
Unless NEM is marketed and updates are given with regards to development you can be damn sure that there will be no renewed interest. Apart from people checking this thread or looking at the NEM forum there is literally 0 awareness about the project. I see threads popping up about the best scalable blockchains etc left and right but in none of them
NEM is mentioned. That makes sense since it is kind of hard to know about upcoming features if they aren't being shared. Instead people put their money in mere concepts of blockchains rather than in one that has been working for quite some time already.

If you look at trading volume NEM has been at the bottom of the top 10 basically for as long as it has been there.

I was reading Lon Wong, the foundation president, writing on Telegram. It was all a tad strange. Every single poster was saying there weren't enough updates, transparency or marketing. He really didn't seem to think there was any type of issue and then kept asking what the problem was. He would be presented with the same list of problems again. Then he'd ask what the problem was once again.

He justified the weirdly autistic approach with nominating the 2 billion + market cap as their achievement. Well, Poloniex pumpers were responsible for that, not them.

There is a very strange lack of engagement compared to other coins. There's little or no project discussion anywhere. The only discussions taking place are about price or moaning about the wallets. I don't really know why it's so different compared to everything else but something needs to change. After all this time everyone's effectively still in the dark.

That is very weird indeed. If anything a 2 billion market cap should warrant more communication as the stakes are significantly higher. Furthermore, if I recall correctly there is a marketing fund in addition to a community fund of some sorts of the leftover stakes, why isn't that being used?

Honestly, I don't get it. NEM was started out of discontent with the way NXT was handled (terrible distribution, centralized decision making etc) but NEM is doing exactly the same at the moment.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 26, 2017, 09:10:11 AM
There's a lot of brand new and recent negativity over Ethereum (but I was pointing out their problems for a couple of years).  The blockchain bloat and technical problems weren't new but now (last 48 hours) people are pointing out all the blockchain bloat and sham ICOs.

Etheruem price is tanking right now (moreso than NEM and other alternates!).

Until a victor emerges from this, there is a possibility we may see renewed interest in NEM in July.  To me, it seems like it is the time to buy NEM and hold NEM - because in July we could see new an all time high.

When NEM goes up it goes up.   We  may even hit the orbit of Pluto if Ethereum implodes and all the capital flows into the NEM network.

July looks like it will be a good time for strategic updates and market gains.

Strange that everyone saying they had no trouble during ico are all newbies.
Got me wonder why no old member had admitted having invested successfully.

I've been around since 2014. Had no problem investing in this ICO.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: June 25, 2017, 09:15:40 AM
People telling You that transactions that went thru were only >=60 gas and >=21000 limit are missleading You, i was also looking at canceled transactions - created after ICO actually started -, a lot of them were accepted with default gas amount and plenty of transactions with ie. 100 gas (or higher) got canceled. I personally used 60 gas and i got in.

250000 gas and 60gwei are good for me to be accepted, while follows the default is stupid.
That' the lesson I learned from Status and BAT.

Well your setting did not improve your chances whatsoever, that was just luck. If you want to improve you chances you should increase your Gwei, not the gas limit.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex scam? on: June 24, 2017, 08:20:11 PM
I had a sell close on an altcoin and it shows as the last completed order in my history. However the proceeds from the sell are not in my BTC wallet.

I have no idea where this BTC has gone. I have raised a ticket with bittrex support but getting no answers.

It all rather strange, anyone ever had this issue?

For the love of god stop using that word every time some anomaly occurs. Just wait for bittrex support to respond and I am confident that it will work out.

To me Bittrex is like the best exchange out there. Never had any problems with them whatsoever.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: June 24, 2017, 03:09:18 PM
So I followed the instructions provided on the Tenx website precisely for the use of MEW (130,000 Gas; 50 Gwei) and sent the transaction within seconds of the ICO open. I watched the timestamp of the transaction advance on etherscan.io every time I refreshed the page.

The transaction bounced just a few minutes ago and evidently I am not part of the ICO.

So, either the ICO cap was fulfilled within a matter of seconds of its opening - or transactions presented to the network later than my own with greater gas/gwei were prioritized.

Frankly, I suspect it is the latter. Assuming so, I am particularly annoyed that following the instructions SPECIFICALLY provided by tenx regarding gas and gwei proved to be a real disadvantage to myself (and many other folk it seems) in successfully subscribing to their ICO.

In which case, what a bl**dy disgrace this launch was.

No it was stated by TenX that these were the RECOMMENDED amounts. Not the maximum amounts. In the Q&A's it was repeatedly said that if you wanted to increase these amounts you were free to do so. Furthermore, TenX did not prioritize those transactions with a higher Gwei price but the Ethereum miners did. If you want to blame anyone for the way the system works you should blame Ethereum. Honestly it is just another case of people not doing their due diligence on how to invest.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: June 24, 2017, 02:26:23 PM
I use 101 GWEI and 180,000 gas limit and got in.

How you even set 101 GWEI? MEW limit us to 60 FFS!!

Use a different wallet. I use parity and set it to 880 Gwei and got included in the very first block that was accepted.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about TenX ICO ? on: June 24, 2017, 01:56:43 PM
ICO TenX started right now https://tokensale.tenx.tech

Warning, this is a fake website. The real tokensale is closed

Someone paid $2,840.71(8.9 ETH) Tx fee for $957.09(3 ETH) investment.  Shocked

130000 gasprice. recommended gas limit 130000. see it? ;-)

but at least he got tokens...

That is a rough mistake.

That is ridiculous lol. Paying 50-60$ was enough to get included in the first block (thus guaranteeing participation).
