PINK, BCO, XEL. But I'm not sure the bottom is in yet. This rally may just be a bounce.

High caps like ZEC and ETH are probably good for a 2x once they break out of their ranges....

When is the winner gonna be selected?

I don't think OP is coming back......

Plus, I can't tell if the conditions were met. Did Kyrie Irving get 5 or more assists in the game?

90  Other / Meta / Re: Can bitcointalk trust system be misued? on: November 10, 2017, 12:35:22 AM
Does anyone ever get removed from DT2 for leaving false/retaliatory feedback with no evidence? It seems like Default Trust members often don't have to explain themselves or prove their accusations.

I guess the "Don't trust, verify!" culture does not apply to Bitcointalk! Smiley
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ELITE] Ethereum Lite | FIRST ETHEREUM CURRENCY | LOW SUPPLY | YOBIT | CMC on: October 29, 2017, 03:44:26 AM
Can't believe I sold for pennies compared to where it is now! Well done holders! Not going to make the same mistake on future airdrops!

Yeah, I think this one surprised many. And from the look of it, it's the only one of the tokenized "e" currencies that will have a future. I've read the whitepaper, and I'm looking forward to further developments on Project Atlantis -- please keep us updated, dev! Every bit of news always helps on the marketing front.

Hopefully there's some funds stashed away for bounties, too. You might consider running a signature campaign and/or Twitter bounty, payable in ELITE. They don't necessarily need to be that high paying, because they leverage holders' desire to evangelize. Good luck with the project.
92  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price drop? on: October 24, 2017, 09:40:37 PM
Is there any reason why the btc price is dropping that much today? Are people scared by the hard fork or why is it dropping?
Probably that is the main reason. As far as I remember, in the recent segwit2x last August, same thing happened, its market valu dumped before the fork and increase right after it. And maybe that's the reason why the value of Bitcoin is stucked at 6000$ and will also probably increase after the fork and make it possible to reach 7000$ before this year end.

The way that price dumped (and alt prices rose) immediately after the BTG snapshot suggests that some people were holding BTC to get BTG. After the snapshot, they were free to dump again. Doesn't really make sense because it's just a scamcoin, but there was a lot of hype around it. I don't even understand how it's trading on Bitfinex, since the blockchain isn't even public yet. The blockchain might not even exist yet...
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: GBTC Bitcoin Investment Trust Observer on: October 16, 2017, 11:39:45 PM
GBTC exists for only one reason: to provide an investment vehicle for exposure to Bitcoin.

Thus, Grayscale's fiduciary duty requires they preserve and maximize their investors' exposure to Bitcoin.

Grayscale should have sold their Trust's Bcash as soon as possible and returned the profit to investors in the form of Bitcoin (like a dividend reinvestment).

A single unit of GBTC represents <0.1BTC and that number inexorably dwindles as management fees are collected.

Bcash offerd GBTC an opportunity to restore all accumulated management fees plus a healthy bonus, meaning 1 unit of GBTC could have been worth >0.1BTC.

I was shocked to discover Barry Silbert instead chose to use his investors' money to play political games and sacrificed the free airdrop money for the sake of his notably unprofessional personal crusade against Core and their socioeconomic majority of users.

I'm 99% sure that's a regulatory violation if not also criminal embezzlement; I never gave Barry permission to use my share of GBTC's Bcash to create an entirely new Bcash Trust.

Going by the Wiki definition of embezzlement, Barry is going to fry for pulling this stunt.

That's a really far reach. As far as the trust is concerned, Bcash =/= Bitcoin, and legally it certainly can't be declared a dividend (I'd be very curious to see a coherent argument to the contrary), so that logic is moot. I can't find any justification to expect any obligations regarding Bcash. It may function as a dividend to BTC holders in practice, but that doesn't confer legal obligations on GBTC.

There could be thousands of hard forks; is GBTC expected to split the trust's coins for every one of them? Even before we consider lack of replay protection in some forks, there are risks involved in doing so. What if actual Bitcoin were lost in trying to recover these shit tokens?! Where do creditors' best interests really lie, then? Especially when there is nothing in the terms about custodial responsibility for altcoins?

Further, it's absurd to expect the trustee to sell at a particular price. What if Bcash rose to 0.5BTC/coin? Then people like you would be making the opposite complaint...
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit2x vs 1 MB on: October 04, 2017, 11:00:28 PM
What will you do if 80-90% of miners start mining > 1MB blocks ?
Will you ignore this chain and will be waiting 1-2 hours for 1 confirmation on original chain ?

If somebody makes bitcoin transaction then it apears on Segwit2x chain (bigger block, faster confirmation).
I think it takes hours(or days) to confirm on original chain.

Do I miss something ? (It will be not the same as with Bitcoin cash)

I'll do nothing. That's the safest thing to do: refrain from making any transactions until you are confident that you can safely do so (without being replay attacked). The last thing you want to do is be one of those idiots choosing sides before listening to the market. That's just asking to lose money.

When the initial dust settles, I'll use the opt-in replay protection coded into Segwit2x to split my Segwit2x coins into a new wallet. Then I'll probably wait a few weeks/months to see how the market reacts before making any big decisions.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if China ban was temporary on: October 03, 2017, 11:55:38 PM
We already reported this thing on our blog! There is every chance that this ban is only temporary and over next few months, it could be a reversal in this decision. But, there is no one who can say anything either way with certainty.

It's anyone's guess at this point. The CCP and PBOC are incredibly cryptic when it comes to new regulations. At least one official has suggested the ban is only temporary, but that doesn't mean anything in the scheme of things. There is often internal disagreements and power struggles in such Party deliberations.

In regards to cryptocurrencies, I suspect the exchange ban is temporary, and we will see licenses and regulation forthcoming. With ICOs, it's anyone's guess.
96  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] 1Broker.com - Trade forex, indices, stocks and commodities on: September 30, 2017, 10:22:56 PM
At first I was skeptical about 1broker but now I think it's awesome.

they have achieved a solid and deserved trust over the years by aparently always treating their customers correctly

I'm a very happy customer. Best interface in the business, perfect automatic withdrawals, great trading engine. Been using them since 2014 and I've been able to accumulate a lot of coins using their service. I really miss being able to hedge my BTC there, though.

Crickets on the 1Fox.com project. Google search caption says "Next-generation trading platform. Coming in summer 2017." But we are past that, now. Maybe all the new regulatory attention that crypto is receiving and the shutdown of BTC-E has them spooked...
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: is bitcoin bubble? on: September 28, 2017, 11:51:34 PM
I would suggest you go back to look at the chart of Amazon share price during dot com bubble burst and its price now...You will see that although the main stream media make you believe that all company lost a huge fortune, you can see that in reality from today's point of view that is merely an adjustment for amazon share price.

I see your point, but it's a bad analogy to use here. The 90s dot com bubble actually was a bubble. Many, many companies were massively overvalued and went belly up when the markets crashed and the hype around monetizing the internet died down. Amazon was one of the companies left standing. Today, they've massively consolidated that market share, making the distinction between Amazon and the early dot com failures even more obvious.

I think your example shows that Amazon had an incredibly good growth model and strong fundamentals. I don't think it says anything about the dot com bubble.
98  Other / Meta / Re: Why are forum account allowed sold here? on: September 27, 2017, 11:20:24 PM
Because there's only two admins who can deal with the issue and only one of them is active in restoring accounts and he's swamped with dozens of requests a day not to mention all the other shit that needs looking into and cleaning up.
I assume the one active admin going through all this is Cyrus? People don't understand what nonsense admins and moderators have to endure ~ they think everyone is sitting at home swimming in time like themselves.

Account recovery is in most cases requested by people looking to enroll themselves in signature campaigns asap, or probably to sell the account later on. It's barely coming from whatever respected and contributing forum members.

From there I am perfectly fine with admins allocating a lower percentage of their precious time to these requests. People have no right to complain ~ they should take care of their stuff more carefully.

I can sympathize with that. Personally, I wasn't enrolled in a signature campaign and the main reason I wanted to recover my original account was to get the hacker's ads off my signature. I gave up after more than a year of being ignored by Theymos. I assumed after that length of time that a Sr Member on the verge of becoming a Hero Member was not worth his time.

Fair enough. I made a new account and life goes on. Maybe I should have contacted Cyrus? Huh
99  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmixer.io - Every end is a new begining on: September 26, 2017, 11:39:07 PM
Probably guys who're running Bitmixer earned huge profit from this service. Obviously, they are modest and they are not greedy.
Although I think there is something else behind it, something they did not tell us. it's a strange decision for me they didn't to sell the service at least

They probably earning huge profit but the people whose willing to join lately wasn't given a chance to enjoy the profit which other people having lately. Nice thing about it they really providing complete payments to those every members who joined. Eventually we have no updates yet if they're will be starting again with their mixing services, hopefully those investors will have another chances again so that profit will bebefit everybody in terms of good btc amounts.
They won't start new business under the name of Bitmixer, they closed it and this project is finished, ultimate source profit is destroyed for their own safety and I think that's smartest decision. Maybe they will start new business with another name and will be more smarts to protect theirselves on high level.

Also the reason of closing Bitmixer was seizing of famouse tor websites because almost every bitcoin was coming from bitmixer, isn't it still clear for everyone?

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that Bitmixer closing down was related to the law enforcement takedown of Hansa, Alphabay and BTC-e. The timing is just too obvious. I have no doubt it was a cash cow. I think that mixer services are best off developing their businesses over ~2 years or so, banking profits and disappearing. Much longer than that, and you are asking for a completed investigation by law enforcement agencies. There may not be good legal precedent, but I am sure the US government would argue that tumbler services are conspiring to launder money.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deep Onion Deep Opinion on: September 25, 2017, 11:01:37 PM
People throw the word scam around so much it's lost its meaning.  What's rubbing some people the wrong way is that the dev has a lot of Onions in reserve; so thus he could get 'really' rich off of this.  Ummmm... yea, I hope he does!! I want the Onions I have to be worth something as well!

The biggest problem is that it's supposed to be proof-of-stake. But users cannot meaningfully stake because the developers are staking with the pre-mined coins. The developers control the vast majority of Onions, which means that the community has zero say over (and did not consent to) the developers massively inflating the supply.

Staking difficulty is so high as a result that DeepOnion's POS system is merely a means to inflate the supply directly into the developers' pockets. It obviously can't be used as a meaningful consensus mechanism when a few people control the vast majority of supply.
