81  Economy / Speculation / Starting to think exchanges are running fractional BTC on: December 01, 2020, 12:33:35 PM
Given BTC in provably moving off exchanges, and everyone who could sell has sold since 2011, I am coming to the view exchanges are running on fractional reserve and selling faked BTC.
82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Congrats to everyone for reaching $20k again. on: November 20, 2020, 05:48:51 AM
Ok yeah, I think it going to break the 20K, if it does it will get 30 pretty quick.

I wonder what all the "its crashed never coming back bubble naysayers" will say then?
83  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $100K-288K before Dec2021 ? on: November 13, 2020, 01:08:28 PM
Stock to flow just the latest buzzword meme
84  Economy / Speculation / At 100k to 1M BTC states will have to buy in to remian solvent. on: November 07, 2020, 01:54:37 AM
At 100k to 1M BTC states will have to buy in to remain solvent, which I think will be the main driver in that era.

See you all in 2027~2030.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is getting ready for 20k again on: November 07, 2020, 01:53:17 AM
If we get to above 20, then onto 100k~200k crash back to 40~ 60 K, then I think we will have the notice of a lot of people.

For the vast majority of people think btc crashed since 20K, and that was it, its dead. It's like Lol BTC didn't that crash.

When it "crashes" back to 40~60K, then the Normies have to re-evaluate what crash means in an exponential rise.

So far crashes have been 3x + ish of prior highs.

Most people have not understood that bitcoin can not simply "disappear" or "cease to exist" like shares, fiat, companies, etc even if it does crash.

I also like the absence of the "tulip" ers. Who have finally shut up.

86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal is doing it on: October 21, 2020, 09:27:04 PM
So as I understand it, Paypal will not allow you to withdraw or send BTC to your Paypal account.

You can only buy or sell BTC at their rate.

I can understand why they are doing this, it avoids a lot of complications and customer support issues as well as compliance, eg where did that 10BTC come from that is now cashed out?

It a good first step for a mainstream payment gateway.

In the future, they will allow BTC withdrawals for sophisticated users or some such under other terms.

The downside is your in a Paypal Fishbowl and at their mercy, also there is no way to tell if PayPal BTC is fully backed<<<< Orgs have a long reputation of fractional reserve.
87  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2017/2018 Bullrun repeat in 2021? on: October 20, 2020, 05:52:19 AM
at 250k a coin, I can't wait for the expression on the face of everyone else who FUD BTC and then when it drops to say 50K a coin as the next low but 2.5 x the last high.

Maybe this time NPC's Govs and Corps will wake up a bit more.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uniswap on: September 18, 2020, 02:14:51 AM
Ok so I had to buy my 400 UNISWAPS as I was otherwise to busy to look at it earlier this year, though as soon as I saw it i tried it but to late

I looks like a new form of ICO model

Build use it, get airdroped.

Pay to Use!!!! but retrospectively.

well thats new. I think only NEM has a similar airdrop, pay to just post in a thread

IF eth 2.0 get of the ground and fees can be dealt with Uniswap or something siliar could take a large chunk of the traditional stock market becuase the trades are trasperant, and liquidity can be had.

No other tradional market is transperant.
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: at 100K will Normington, NPC's, the masses, etc fomo and bail in? on: September 15, 2020, 08:35:15 PM

GOLD

who buys or needs that?Huh

I mean GLHF stufing that through the internet.

Also certs printer goes Brrrrrr

It has an actual purpose in industry, unlike bitcoin though ;-)..

Bitcoins just for drug dealers and the black economy, don't fool yourself Grin.

Realistically it has much less of an application than gold...

Yes it has a mineral use, but it lacks properties that give BTC a use, eg send over interenet being the main one and easeir to use and proove.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: September 15, 2020, 02:03:56 PM
Bitcoin is hard to understand, this has pro's and cons.

BTC attracts a select user base that will really drive innovation pro.

Con, mass adoption will take longer ... until the killer app arrives.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance sued for money laundering over stolen bitcoin. on: September 15, 2020, 02:01:44 PM
Binance is big enough now that its going to get sued for issue X routinely like all Corps.
92  Economy / Speculation / Re: at 100K will Normington, NPC's, the masses, etc fomo and bail in? on: September 15, 2020, 01:27:08 PM
Retail enter at all points. The masses will probably come in once its easier and once institutions have snapped up a lot...

Governments like the UK, US and China already have huge reserves of gold so why would they enter?

At what price point does normie money fomo/bail into bitcoin/crypto.

Retail ? 100K BTC

Instituional 200K BTC

Governments 1M BTC

what do you think?

At some point they are going to be forced in, as thier currencies drop to zero....

I got this one. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere near 100k ever. I can't even sustain 10k. The normie money has bailed in, and then back out again after the masses learned how useless bitcoin is. We're in a 4 year downtrend with no signs of stopping. You're describing a fantasy.

F#ck your back, I mean I know you came back, but you left, and before that ulti-troll for Bobo.

You were the signal to buy.....talk about begining of a bull run.....ok.....

Wow sure is 2013 back in here .....

So you made xMillion lambos etc and you return to *troll* addictive place this much

NXT was a pretty good product, and Ardor as well inmho.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 23, 2020, 09:08:16 AM
how do we opt in?Huh

which wallet do we need?

What happens to XEM tokens

what happened to catapult and why?

More details about opt-in to be conformed on 24th August as per earlier post on this page.

You'd need the NEM wallet - https://nemplatform.com/wallets/

There are Windows, Mac and Linux wallets as well as trezor supported.

Also Mobile wallets for Android and Apple.

XEM tokens will still remain in your wallet before and after opt-in and snapshot. You will receive one XYM token for each XEM you had in your wallet at snapshot time..

For example if you had 100 XEM, then you will receive 100 XYM and still have 100 XEM

Catapult evolved into Symbol - Catapult was the project codename, the name for the blockchain going forward is Symbol, ticker name at launch is XYM.

ok thanks

what happens if XEM and XYM keep going

eg some people keep on the XEM chain, whats to stop them

Doyou have to burn the XEM to get the XYM

or is it like BTC / BCH you get coins on both chains?

98  Economy / Speculation / Re: BETI: Bitcoin Exponential Trend Index and technical analysis on: July 29, 2020, 09:10:00 PM
.. and I remember that some people had goals to achieve 21 BTC in those times, and harder to accomplish such 21BTC these days, and forum members are frequently more than thrilled to have been able to get into double digit BTC wallet accumulation sizes... soon (and maybe there are even many forum members today) forum members will be excited to be in the 1+ bitcoin club.. because it currently can take a decent amount of efforts and focus too achieve a wallet size of 1 BTC plus.

yeah i remember that....21 btc...

200K + now !!!!
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of BTC after halving on: May 12, 2020, 09:43:25 AM
the chart looks very different this time to the last halving, sideways vs slow up.

I think a few months out everyone will be caught with their pant down when they realise how few btc are now available in new supply and hit the buy button, and this trend will continue to the next high and crash, circa 200 K then back to 40K or some such.

This should play out in about a year or two.

The real issue is there are always fewer sellers because you shake out everyone who would sell each cycle, so the market is selecting for committed hodlers
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain a Good Career? on: May 12, 2020, 09:37:00 AM
At this point, you have to invest about 20 weeks or so part time at least to let the concepts of BTC sink is and be come conversant with

keys/private keys

Change addresses

how to secure and back up btc

how to deal with other cryptos

how to deal with good and bad exchanges

how to understand basic metrics

be scammed out of about 5% of your Crypto investment by the failure of the exchange, yourself or other error.

how to dump various wallets using pywallet etc

how to run secure computers

how to become os/computer agnostic  and back up essential files.

how to have back up systems

sift through trading options

come to terms with big block and small block arguments

deal with forks

then you have to spend every so many weeks a refresher so that you remember how to access everything again.

have a passing understanding of hash rate/miners incentive/ pow / pos options

understand the main classes of crypto.

buy and play with some dogecoin (probably the best crypto to mess around with because its cheap per unit and you can learn a lot and use on a lot of exchanges)

Read through how exchanges and wallets scammed people, failed or had bugs

Get a VPN that's good

Buy a NAS.

Have a passing understanding of the codebase (generic over view is ok)

It takes some time.
