81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I may sound really stupid right now, but it's what I noticed on: May 02, 2023, 11:35:19 PM
I am present in crypto space years ago and I have witnessed two bear market, and I couldn't take advantage of one because of the condition that I was into at the time, but I heard about every good and bad things about crypto.

But I am curious about something and I will like to ask you old Bitcoin OG on here .

Why is it that bad news always comes in a bear market and when we are in a bull market, all bad news about Bitcoin vanished? Are they doing this on purpose? It's always the bear market, after halving everything will disappear and some bans will be lifted, and so on...

Are we been played? Are these people toying with us, knowing that crypto will work but let's scare the hell out of them and take advantage of the fear? I can't come up with anything that makes more sense than this.
Short answer: yes, absolutely yes.

Don't forget that there are very few bitcoins in this world and everybody wants them, and how do they want them? At the lowest price of course! It just can't be a coincidence that during bear markets there are bad news after bad news, many of those clearly made up. I've been in this world since 2016, every few months the market would go down because "China is banning bitcoin", they probably banned it 400 times if you listen to the news, and yet people every single time would fall for it and sell their bitcoins. If you believe in bitcoin just don't pay attention to all the FUD, sometimes it's true, the majority of times is not.
There is only limited supplies of bitcoin in this world that is also why people are giving those things high appreciation and value. I just can't believe that they'd actually ban all the miners all over China, and they need to find a way to work on their mining since it is not recognized by the government.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many bills killing crypto on: May 02, 2023, 11:09:24 PM
They can pass a bill which restrict the platforms operating in their state should not allow any transaction via cryptocurrencies but they can't do anything beyond that, they can't stop bitcoin until there is no more internet in this world so these bills are suppressing its growth temporarily but in long term bitcoin broke all those barriers and made many countries to legalize it so don't worry about the future of Bitcoin.
But not every part of this world has internet so still it's not guarantee that those bills are effective in the end. Even now there is changes on how the countries approach crypto and what are their steps and plans towards it.
83  Economy / Economics / Re: My predictions for next decades world economics on: May 01, 2023, 12:31:48 PM
This is your own personal prediction, but how realistic are they from becoming the actual fact of the happenings in the world financial economy system, everyone tend to always project their own personal feelings and apply them for the general opinion on the real state of the matters related to the economy and the world at large, we can not use such as the basis for the conclusion if other measures were left unattended to, anyone can bring in anything new from his own side of view but the current situation with the economy can be better if the government work in hand in making policies and taking effective measures to tackle the constraints from the root.
Most would predict it as the most possible scenario based on the real and present happenings in our current situation on our economy. Same as you do, I don't really rely on those predictions since even the most veteran traders failed to predict most of what happens in our economy nowadays specially in terms of bitcoin. There have been so many predictions that been concluded and most are even close to accurate but not as accurate as to when it will stop. We should also consider that not "them" the people who are doing predictions are the market but us all of the people who are into this is considered as market specially those whales.
84  Other / Meta / Re: Is it better to have a place to discuss only about NFTs? on: May 01, 2023, 09:15:16 AM
Personally, I am not against it but there are several platforms already that are discussing NFTs such as telegram and discord or even twitter. In most cases, it is not important to have discussion in NFTs since they have their alternate coins in which they already have a specific section on this thread, but most of the time they it is a lot popular on social media platforms like facebook so I don't think that is something we need to think hard about. One more thing is that you can also have local discussion on your own local threads regarding popular NFTs on your countries in which you will be probably interested.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take good care of yourselves on: May 01, 2023, 07:55:36 AM
Yes it's reality that those who want to make money work hard but don't spend money for making their life easy because they want to save money. I think saving is not bad idea but living life with hazards but don't spend money is not good thing.

Putting more and more money into Bitcoin is good but I think that if a person puts overall money and then there is no other opportunity to buy daily expenses, treatment and many other daily uses. It is the best idea to put little money and then with remaining income make your life simple by spending for different activities.

Some people work their ass for them to save money for the future. When the time comes in their retiring age they could just relax and enjoy their time. For sure they still spend money it's part of life to have fun and enjoy especially when the time of stressful events. I think those people who won't even spend their money just to save and sacrifice their life entertainment, is the addicted to make money because if they aim to be rich in the future they won't even focus on their current situation. I suggest to have fun and save much better if they have knowledge in Bitcoin would be better to invest.
I can also relate to this at the same time I can also relate to the OP's story since I too lost my father at the very young age and some properties were taken over on the guise that "I am still too young to manage those said properties", but in the end they are the ones reaping the benefits for so long that all the resources are exhausted already leaving us nothing once we took over. That is why me and my family have to work our ass off extra harder just to get by and have something as savings and investment.

As I've said that I can also relate to this topic since it also reached to the point where I am already questioning my self if was I doing the right thing, or am I even enjoying this. There was also one time where I was sick to the point that I couldn't get up from the bed for 2 good weeks. That is also when I realized that life is really short and I wasted those days not even earning or enjoying, so now I am both doing those things on moderation since anytime we will be gone to the kingdom come.

To make things short I have to balance things out for me ro properly say that I am living not just a slave under my own mental pressure of things.
86  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: May 01, 2023, 04:32:50 AM
If I were to answer the OP's question then I'd say "that depends on how you manage your time". If you can do both at the same time then it's very well recommended option since you can earn from both. First of, trading as a side hustle or any side hustles you can think of while trading, and at the same time you are working to earn a stable source of income. Nowadays, it's no longer enough to have a stable source of income if you plan to have a leisurely life in the future while having extra money, and even if you do have a decent amount of income from your stable source of income, it is not enough nowadays to sustain you for a long time.

Even if we say you can support you and your family from that job, is that really enough? I don't think that is, since there will be times that you need to have an extra money. I had to learn this on a very hard way, coz our family may be considered as middle class but in terms of extra income to buy some things that we need, we cannot afford to do it immediately, the reason for that is we need to consider some areas in our finances before doing that and it would at least take a year to buy what we need so we really have to step up and come up with another source of income or side hustles to shorten that time frame.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Is some certain lifestyle a waste of money and time ? on: April 30, 2023, 02:09:47 PM
we are working to earn money, we are living to earn happiness , in which i mean? work and Enjoy that is what life means .

there are so many people that trying to earn money and bank their funds and when they grow old so as being ready but the problem is when they turn into right ages to enjoy? in this time is really short and they die without even compeltely enjoying their fruits.

I would rather work now and enjoy  my lifestyle than dying with my money that I never enjoyed.
.
but of course we must not spend too much , and learn to bank some.

I like your lifestyle, we try our best, work hard, we should enjoy our achievements. Excessive saving and dying leaving that money for the next generation is a waste. I mean, if I can work for money, I want my kids to be like me. I don't like them relying on inheritance and being lazy. Life is working and earning your own money, that's a life worth living.
that's very appropriate, enjoying life after being tired of working is a form of appreciating yourself who has struggled to get what you have got in life.
I agree that spending a little money on lifestyle is not a waste as long as it is still in a reasonable category after we cover a little savings or investment for the future.

I also live like that, spending the money I earn to make myself happy and keep thinking about the future, building a business for the future, long-term investing, and saving a little for an emergency fund in an unexpected life.
We all know that someday we will pay the price of what hobbies or addiction we borrowed, but in the meantime, it's not bad to enjoy life for a moment and unwind. Life is very short and in a blink of an eye it can end sooner than you expected which is also why I have to agree with you guys saying it's not all the time beneficial for someone to bank their moneys while almost torturing their self to the point of no longer living but only working. I believe banking is still and option for you to save while you are still planning for the next move, but what's more important is how you will move from there and not only getting stucked at banking.
88  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: April 30, 2023, 12:41:46 PM
Well, basically in our country farmers aren't treated rightfully while some politicians are taking their lands to convert into business establishments or subdivisions. Aside from they are being treated unfairly, they are also suffering from injustice such as the companies are buying their products at the very low prices while the capital to start farming is much more expensive than their profits. That is mostly why farmers give up farming and try to make a living outside the country or go to urban places to find opportunities.

And the result? Due to lack of attention to farmers we import goods outside the country which makes it even more expensive and both ineffective and unhealthy for the economy.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many bills killing crypto on: April 30, 2023, 05:39:22 AM
I think it is very clear that we have moved on from the "laugh at you" stage to the "fight you" stage.  As we all know, this is the final battle before we win.  Regulation is coming, lines will be drawn, people will choose sides, but ultimately the technology behind Bitcoin and those willing to do what is right will prove to be an unstoppable force.  Bitcoin is going to be used in the future by lots of people for lots of things and no amount of posturing is going to stop that.  Politicians have no idea what they're doing, so regulation will seem stupid.  Eventually common sense will prevail though.  We're in the thick of it now.  Buckle up.
I have no doubt that blockchain will still prevail in the end, but that doesn't mean those who are using it like us are not on the pinch. Since the regulation is on the way, most wallet providers will be monitored by the authorities, and in the end they will impose whatever laws they can come up as long as they can still monitor those who are using their platforms. For me living in a third world countries, we don't have much choice but to obey mostly what our authorities are going to regulate, though as of now they are still on the neutral stance regarding crypto, we don't know what will happen in the future. So as of now we are still enjoying the benefits while still not crossing the line.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What things do you study while choosing a wallet? on: April 29, 2023, 12:30:56 PM
You actually have to look at your use case for the wallet to guide you in your decision :

1. If you are going to use it every day, then a online wallet would be the best wallet... something you can access via your mobile phone.
2. If you looking for a long-term storage wallet.. I would go for a hardware wallet or even a Paper wallet (air-gapped)
3. If you want to do both... a desktop wallet is good enough. (Electrum wallet)

Just choose the most secure wallet, if you are going to store a lot of coins (hardware wallet) ...because they need the physical device or the Seed phrases to get to the coins.
Same as how I choose mine, but for me I usually check first if it's available in our country, then next if it can be easily accessed anywhere and whether I can send in any custodial wallets that I own.

In case of owning non-custodial wallets, first I need to check if it's accessible and can be trustes before I purchase coz who knows if the wallet cannot be trusted I may run the risk of my funds getting lost either failure of the wallet or the seller.
91  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie are wearing avatar in their accounts on: April 29, 2023, 10:43:59 AM
With this thread, I found an answer to your question.

Avatars were disabled due to some kind of exploit back around October 2013.
They were re-enabled in 2015 on April 1st (it wasn't a prank lol) and also the Full Member requirement was introduced.
So regarding the UID range my educated guess would be 1 - 155000

So beyond this date October 2013, all members on this forum can able to wear avatars.  So they're here for a long time.
As far as I knew back then when I first started here you need to at least be a full member in order for you to wear avatars. To be honest this is news to me since I there are only few accounts remaining as newbies who are still wearing avatars like what the OP found coz mostly they already have high ranks as of today while others had already retired from this forum.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: food supply Blockchain technology. on: April 29, 2023, 09:09:59 AM
Regaining trusts from their people is a hard battle they need to face and no one is willing to risk their own wealth and resource just to convince people to believe them without any monetary gain. I don't think blockchain can help in this case when we are talking about real time products and not just any other products you can easily manage as long as you have internet. Besides that, even as we are now facing global economic crisis, nobody would even want to risk losing what they have in exchange of recognition or patriotism, and I don't think it is also the answer to this problem especially now that even crypto is facing problems in terms of not only adoption but also from the hands of high authorities.
93  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: April 29, 2023, 06:32:36 AM
Substitute the word patience for investment and that would explain most of it.   Long term consideration can lead to big gains eventually but not usually immediately, its very different from what is most of the trades we might discuss on this forum or elsewhere in crypto.  The ironic thing for me and quite surprising is that BTC is a long term dynamic to its gains, it can move rapidly but I get why people might say invest for BTC because of this longer term movement in value.
In theory holding value in crypto would be a kind of saving, you arent spending it while holding BTC and theres a hope of deflation not inflation so a hope the unit appreciates in value vs continuing rising demand.  Saving a currency with big inflation is a type of waste, its not retaining value its losing it but everyone has to be able to plan for their debts properly also.  Inflation is destructive to an economy partly for this reason though in nominal terms the inflation can be confused with growth, its a very muddy view.
That is how the tradional banking works and mostly people who saved substancial amount of money realized how hard it is to endure during inflation. If I were to choose investment way back years ago I'd probably choose saving on the bank, but in this day and age? No, I'll choose something that can have a store value such as gold or even crypto even if it is quite a risky gamble.

When money is involved, people tend to panic easily and cannot hold their own emotions. They are easily tempted either to spend that money or if they choose investment, they'd want something that has the highest ROI possible in shortest amount of time.

They introduce a bitcoin investment scheme na nagoofer ng high returns.

95  Economy / Economics / Re: Ripple CEO Says Crypto Industry Has to Rebuild Trust on: April 28, 2023, 09:53:57 AM
If our goal is to rebuild the public's faith and confidence in crypto, what would be our 1st step?
The crypto space doesn't really have anything to do to build trust. The centralized exchanges that have broken the trust of the public are the ones who need to look for a way to build it back, but I doubt that will be possible again. The real crypto believers don't need anyone to convince them to have trust over what they already have. To me, the work to be done here is left for projects like Luna and FTX, who mismanaged public funds over their own interests; they have more work to do to convince the Sec and other governments that they can be trusted again, assuming they still have the intention of coming back strong under the same name.
In the first place, the one who destroyed the so called "trust" first are the ones responsible for managing a lot of centralized transactions promising "safe" future for their user's finances. I hate to say this in advance but I don't think crypto industry needs a lot of trust since anything can happen as long as centralized platforms intervene, and if they did it will only cause huge problems for the crypto users and worse possible case is that, the so called trust will end up useless just like what mostly happens in the past.
96  Economy / Reputation / Re: I doubt it - But is it too bad to ask you to review some of my posts? on: April 28, 2023, 04:54:05 AM
Well, if I were to be asked personally about this question, it's just that there are some here who have high standards when it comes to giving off merits. I have known even before how much you have contributed on this forum aside from having high quality posts so I'm sure you won't suffer 0 merits even in 3 months, that's how a quality member you are here, but as of lately ther have been problems in merit cycles not only about your posts but also some other boards too due to inactivity of some merit sources, but that doesn't mean you don't deserve the merits you received.
97  Other / Meta / Re: Users with highest Merit/Posts on: April 28, 2023, 02:27:43 AM
There is no late comer in education, whenever one is ready he or she can go the educational center and acquire the needed knowledge. What I am trying to say that, though I came late to this informative thread but I have learned something  today.

Thank you for breakdown the information to the bearish way for the layman (ordinary) man to understand. I hope the Italian user who made you to do the research and create this marvelous thread has gotten his answer.
Op you can also update this thread time to time because there some users who have earn reasonable merits after the creation of this thread. Although I don't know the parameters used for analysis. Once again thanks you.
There are also users that had recent achievements in terms of merit activities in the past few months. I can somehow notice the changes on this forum and some are slowly getting back on their feet and slowly making progress from their respective boards. I also hope they'd get recognized.

We know being patient sometimes can also be hard but let's just understand them since nobody started as very exceptional specially here on this forum. Though mostly aren't considered helpful in terms of posts and quoting, time will tell for them who knows they'll paved the path for the future foundation of thia forum.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment in bitcoin on: April 28, 2023, 01:48:02 AM
Investment in bitcoin can makes you developed reasoning on how to expand your income,

does it? Actually, before someone thinks of investing in Bitcoin, they are already thinking of possible ways to expand their income or financial status. So I think you are wrong about that.

Although if someone invests in Bitcoin and is able to make a huge profit during the bull market, they could use their profit to do other things, or could split their investment profit after then and still have some Bitcoin and other investments. The profit they made from their Bitcoin investment makes it possible for them to do so and archive other things, but not really that they began to think about how to expand their income before they went to invest.
When I first encountered bitcoin this is also what I have in mind. Honestly, what I was thinking is how can I get more bitcoin and how can I effectively utilize whatever satoshis I can earn, and that only triggers my curiosity deeply and tried various ways to earn bitcoin like faucets and other things like cloud mining in which we all knew it is somehow impossible to earn from there. I didn't have time to think of expanding from there since I didn't have any stable sources of income at that time and I am still underage if I have to find a job, besides that I didn't have proper knowledge that you can even get coins from joining campaigns here since what I knew is that I need to rank up my account for the sake of learning more. Only later on I found out that by joining campaigns you can actually earn, at first I was even doubtful since I have been joining so many ways to earn coins freely and seems like nothing is effective so I am not that hopeful I can get some from here. The only thing I was expecting here is that I felt anonymous and it feels like I have joined something that needs to be extra secretive. That's the vibe I get from exploring here on the forum, but investing and earning? Nah I didn't expect much on that.

Literally when I first came here, I keep on thinking "how nice would it be if I own 1 bitcoin" and "what does it feel like trading using the money I earned online".
99  Economy / Economics / Re: Bans on crypto now looks like a joke on: April 27, 2023, 02:18:54 AM
China has been a big player in mining, but not in trading or adoption. Meanwhile the US is a home to the biggest Bitcoin exchanges and other companies, and a lot of trading volume is coming from it. EU is also a very important market. If these two entities ban crypto trading, it would be like the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs. Most coins will die, Bitcoin will survive but will become very small in all senses - price, popularity, community, network.
This is why it's very hard to ban crypto on that country since mostly the market which is the people will have a hard time coping up the losses. I was even shocked years ago when they announced that China is prohibiting mining coz as far as I know they were amongst the first to recognized crypto and mostly launched campaigns to promote it and then suddenly they just declared out of the blue.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do with bitcoin? on: April 25, 2023, 06:25:01 AM
If I plan to sell my bitcoin, i'd probably choose to sell it at $80,000 or more since I didn't have much hassle investing to it, besides in the first place I haven't invested much and all I have invested are from what I have earned because of working free time since I wanted my time to be more productive. It's not that I didn't want to sell but, for me it is just an option for me whether I sell it or not.
