81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk name once again used to fool people by hackers! on: March 23, 2021, 10:41:28 PM
This story is a typical one for crypto currency world. Lots of famous persons' accounts were used for making such schemes and fraud very trusting people. The key moment in stories of such kind - the greediness and haste in decisions. You may double your assets for example on the increasing price of token or coin and even in this case you may lose. So the golden rule - think twice before you act, be extremely attentive, check every information and every symbol in it.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its coming i faster and would shock most people on: March 23, 2021, 08:14:51 PM
Friends, I think the moment we've been waiting on is fast approaching and should it come as a shocker to most of us. O saw this on coindesk.
https://www.coindesk.com/luxury-us-hotel-group-now-accepts-bitcoin-dogecoin-and-other-cryptos?amp=1

what would our reaction be like?
When bitcoin and crypto finally emerges as the future?

Well uhmmm, we still won't reap the world into halves but then, it's going to be something for the crypto community.

What could that something be for you, haven't scaled through the scarry news of your investment days and have finally over came the challenge.

Nothing too strange I have found in the article and nothing greatly surprised for me. Nowadays Bitcoin is on in it's increase period, that is why lots of people and services support such a tendency of accepting crypto, and everyone is trying to be the most desired and the first among others. In my opinion crypto will be an integral part of our life very soon.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First time scammed , very frustrated on: March 22, 2021, 10:48:53 AM
There is a start for everything , so i just get first time scammed and hope last time.
Since few times i follow polkadot env and liked their projects especially polkastarter . it's like the ico's for projects to raise money . I wanted to participate to one of them and got whitelisted to superfarm ($super) to buy in the presale at a good price but sended 0.25 eth to wrong adress . yes i'm little bit dumb they made a clone of their official telegram channel and i get caught . usually i don't do that but we all do mistakes .

the adress of the scammer : 0xC88b5F4aaE1C8f2778DEF2257b6bAf1BA62E4B09

i hope he will die  with a cancer . i lost $447.83USD that's 50% of my humble portfolio and i worked hard to put this money in . i know that there is nothing i can do and i feel little bit down but that's life assholes are everywhere . Whitout this scammers cryptocurrency and the world would be better .

So just a little thought for me . good luck and get your money safe

Lots of people very often receive messages via different chats from so-called admins or supporters in order to get your data like wallet address or seed phrase. Or very often frauds make clone chats or accounts or addresses. That's why in this case it is a fraud and not scam, because it was not the project's fault, it was lack of your watchfullness. And the best way to protect yourself is to be extremely attentive. But you get the most valuable thing - experience, and the next time it wi be really hard to fraud you)) that is a good side of this situation.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Elon Musk theory on: March 20, 2021, 09:53:38 PM
Hi everybody,

I don't have a lot of experience with crypto: but I am curious how you think about this theory: Elon Musk regularly tweets about Dogecoin. Elon Musk has a net worth of 172 billion I see in Google. I think that's a little less now, but still a lot Smiley.

I see that Dogecoin is in 17th place with a market cap of 6.2 billion.

Why would Elon Musk tweet so much about Dogecoin? It seems that everything he touches turns to gold. If he bites into something, it will be a success: left or right.

Suppose if Elon Musk were to pump 40 billion into the Dogecoin, Dogecoin would be the 3rd largest altcoin in the world with a market capitalization of 46 billion. And then he was proved right again. And well done again. I wouldn't be surprised he does this. And maybe he wants to reward everyone who buys Dogecoins for following up on his tweets?

After buying, he may well combine Dogecoin with his other business activities. Maybe a strange theory: that's why I'm also curious how you think about this.
He does not make gold from all things that he touches. He just makes fun from time to time with accounts or exchanges or services. The most funny thing is that lots of people believe him more than the themselves and take part in all this strange movement )))) that is why we get some situations like this one with Dogecoin we get.
85  Local / Идеи / Re: Децентрализованный видео хостинг on: March 17, 2021, 08:39:58 PM

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Elon Musk invest in Cardano? on: March 16, 2021, 09:41:59 PM
Is Elon Musk will invest in Cardano? I saw some Twitter posts that Elon will invest in Cardano(ADA). But I could not find any tweet from Elon.
Is it a rumor or true?

Oh my God. And here is Musk also again))) First. Do not believe to lots of statements from lots of people who just started using his name for making popularity of yheir accounts to be higher. I think in case Musk would like everybody knows that he is going to invest into Cardano, first it would be a real post on his official page about it and the whole world would learn about it))) Second. Even in case Musk would invest into Cardano, and what? It is better to invest somewhere or decide what is worth of investing or not by your own, but not because someone is going to do this.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: March 16, 2021, 09:28:09 PM
Just sold 5% of my Bitcoin that I've been holding for 3 years and I feel satisfied doing so.

I didn't need to sell, and it was mainly for the satisfaction of getting back some of my original investment.

However, I also feel like its broken the "HODL AT ALL COSTS" mindset which I felt was getting a bit unhealthy.

I do feel there are risks with Bitcoin, and I won't drag people down with that here, but I will be diversifying that money into gold and shares, mainly tech shares.

If Bitcoin dips a lot, I will also buy some more Bitcoin though.

Basically, I'm glad I sold some if only to stop feeling like a slave to it (and to test the Coinbase selling functionality which only took seconds for the transaction).

Wow. You are surely the happiest man in the world nowadays)) because you did your own steps, you make your own choices without hesitations and any regtets, and you are with high profit. You are the real example for lots of people who do not still believe in Bitcoin, that everything is possible in your life in case you believe and act wisely.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk again on: March 16, 2021, 09:15:57 PM
Nah, Elon is just trolling every bitcoiner,  Smiley He may have meant, TBC (The Best Crypto).

So I don't consider it a swipe, maybe he just wanted BTC to be in the discussion again and push the price to $60k and above.

Oh, it looks more likely that he is really trolling bitcoiners))) he likes to do this, at least such an impression appears while looking sometimes his comments or posts to some services or projects. His popularity is rising. 😁 The new day is not a day without Musk as I see on the amount of news and topics about him and "what-Musk-has-written". May be his aim is not to loose popularity 😁
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn to be known with New titles on: March 15, 2021, 09:47:00 PM
I visited coin telegraph and was reading this new title of sort about the guy getting very popular for his followership and publicity, Elon Musk. And now, he is going to be known with a new title.

Would this bring a new kind of hype to his person and push bitcoin higher because I also know that he bought huge number of btc some time ago that fired price up.

Quote
Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively.

Quote
In a world where CEOs and chief financial officers no longer matter, meet Tesla's new "technoking" and "master of coin."

Which are we going to address him with  Grin

technoking and master of coin

I would say fad of rich people does not have borders. Very often they do such things like these, that is why we can find new technokings and masters of coins and so on. Sounds very funny. It will not be a great surprise in case in some period of time we will see new titles and appointments.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for Holders! on: March 13, 2021, 08:59:18 PM
The pandemic is not blessing for us but we have seen a huge change of Bitcoin price and broke all the records before. In this time of a year ago with compared to the present time, we can see a huge change and Bitcoin is up almost 1400%. Isn't it huge?

The next short term target is $60000. For now, next target is new ATH.

BITCOIN is for Hodlers
Not for weak hands
(I had read it somewhere, can't remember right now)

Bitcoin is for wise I would say in such a way. Only this case it will work for person's profit even does not depending on wheather it is for holding or trading. Someone can choose trading and become successful, while another one will multiply his assets via holding. But it depends on personal preferences.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Polkadot Good For Future? on: March 11, 2021, 07:03:17 PM
Some Defi Coins play very well on crypto market. Is it good time to invest in Polkadot Coin?

Nowadays Polkadot gives good results and hopes for lots of users and seekers of profit and good movements. Like any new direction that has good resultative start every project can has two variants of future - may grow to top projects and desired worldwide or may fall down because of different reasons. Nowadays there are lots of good projects on Polkadot, but what the situation will be in a couple of months or half a year we will see. But for today - yes, there are high chances to earn. But everyone should remember about risks, they always exist.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: March 11, 2021, 06:47:07 PM
These two are sure good altcoins to invest, and I also believe that both will be successful in the future, but I would like to ask the community here if which coin they believe will be more successful in the future. I also added a poll so you can vote, this would help people reading this thread to easily determine which coin is better.

Please share your opinion too on why you choose a certain coin.

I would say that they look like two competing platforms that are good both. And it depends on personal taste what the person is looking for and what someone wants to get. Ethereum nowadays is growing in usage due to different projects snd DeFi tokens. But the most unpleasant yhing is high commission in the Ethereum network. And BNB also never retreats. So nowadays it is hard to tell exactly who will be the best and more desired in the nearest future.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Did you earn or get any good money form airdrops? on: March 11, 2021, 06:30:46 PM
From when I start using and working here on Bitcointalk my opinion on airdrop was not good because from what I understand you get probably 1% or less.

Now I want to try applying or getting airdrops today.

Question:

1. Did you used airdrops that you got and used them for trading?  Did you earn from it?

Question from the subject itself:

2. Did you earn or get any good money out from airdrops? How?

I always say this sorry for the question it may be a noob question but please understand I never tried airdrops some of you might say or reply that my question is searchable on google or something. I trust (60 40 trust issue )those that I read there on different websites but it's different when you know you can ask and get replies from real legit people that are you guys, who know a lot about airdrops and experience getting airdrops.

Yes, there were lots of good airdrops in 2017-2018 I gave participated in and got good income from them. What about nowadays there were several drops I have participated in and got not bad income from them as well. Of course it is not so many good drops where you can get something starting from 100$. But they exist. It is drops from good projects, exchanges or platforms with working product. And of course it depends on your requirements how much do you want to get. May be 100$ is too few for someone, and may be 20$ is goid for another one.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum or DeFi projects? on: March 11, 2021, 05:11:25 PM
Ethereum of course unless there's DeFi 2.0 Grin Just kidding aside but I think the question you asked was too broad since we're talking on DeFi projects when in fact most DeFi came from Ethereum and others that just popping up lately are from other blockchains. I think it's much clearer and most suitable to be compared if it's Ethereum or Polkadot DeFi projects. Just my two cents.

In some sense you are quite right, but we all should remember that lots of DeFi projects are very closely connected with the Ethereum, even the Polkadot itself. And the amount they collect or in case you want to invest into some project on Polkadot you do it in the Eth. So DeFi and Ethereum are very closely connected with each other)
95  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Взломали Furucombo on: March 11, 2021, 02:49:52 PM

96  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Криптовесна(Альтвесна) 2021 on: March 11, 2021, 02:17:46 PM

97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Controls Bitcoin's Future on: March 11, 2021, 01:12:24 PM
Since most of Bitcoin is mined in China and depends on China's energy, do you think it is possible that Bitcoin will become centralized, with China becoming the authority?

It does not depend on the territory, country or location where miners are situated, it will not have any impact on becoming Bitcoin to be centralized, because Bitcoin can not be centralized. May be in some way it may influence on some processes but not on the changing the most important feature of Bitcoin, the very essence of it.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many people think that Bitcoin is not a currency with practical uses on: March 10, 2021, 02:04:12 PM
"In fact, it is not used much in the legal economy now. Yes, a rich man sells it to another rich man, but this is not the end use. Without these uses, it has no long-term future. ," Rogoff said. In other words, Bitcoin currently exists almost exclusively as a speculative tool.

So, is the Bitcoin bubble about to burst?

The thing is... you want to present Bitcoin as a "Rich Man" toy and that is wrong. A lot of people are buying say $5 worth of bitcoins every week and that makes it affordable for the people that are not wealthy. (Go buy some shares for $5 ....not Penny stocks)  Roll Eyes

The thing people are missing about Bitcoin's use is this... It is no different to other currencies (People trade on Forex with other currencies and they use currencies daily for commerce and the same thing is happening with Bitcoin)

Now, did we not have several other Bubbles in other financial instruments in the past? (Real Estate / Stock Market Bubble / Dotcom Bubble....) and guess what, they bounced back and people are still using them.  Wink

That is just the nature of any financial instrument out there, so pointing fingers at Bitcoin is just wrong.  Angry

I agree with you that Bitcoin is not a Rich men's toy, despite they use Bitcoin as an instrument for making more money. But of course it is in an easy access for lots of people like any other asset, and everyone can easily buy some part of Bitcoin))) It gives people opportunities to make at least small movement in order to get good result. Of course we can not buy milk or bread for BTC in most places, but we slso can not do this for gas or oil for example. Crypto is just another separate direction where you are able to build your strategy and become richer or fail in casr your steps will be wrong. We can say "a bubble" about the dollar also, but it is still used worldwide and noone hesitate using dollar)))
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World Without Bitcoin on: March 10, 2021, 01:52:22 PM
Have you ever thought what would the world be without Bitcoin? Imagine if the cryptocurrency was never invented and we'd still be living with Fiat (paper money and credit/debit cards). People would be subject to banks' desires without a chance for freedom. A cashless society would be only a dream, without innovations in the FinTech space. Gold would still be an option, but not everyone will be able to access it. The unbanked people will be forced to deal with banks in order to participate in the mainstream economy. A lot of challenges and hurdles would arise without a decentralized form of currency for the enjoyment of all.

What do you think the world will be today without Bitcoin? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

It would be a dull and uncoloured world in case Bitcoin and crypto dissapeared after the times we tried it, learned and understood how it is to live with Bitcoin. But in case it would not be invented some day, we would not have such sn opportunity to compare with, that is why I think we would even did not notice that there is something absent in our lives. It would an ordinary life like it was before Bitcoin epoch.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee charged with fraud over cryptocurrency on: March 10, 2021, 01:37:00 PM
This is just a tip of the iceberg. McAfee promoted dozens of scam projects, and he charged $105,000 for a single tweet. He made tens of millions of USD (if not hundreds of millions) from these scams. When angry investors confronted him later, he refused to listen and abused them. For me, alongside Mark Karpeles and Craig Wright, John McAfee ranks as one of the worst enemies of cryptocurrency. I hope he will spend the rest of the his miserable life behind bars, without any possibility of a parole.

Yes, this guy is extremely odious, starting from his statements about the Bitcoin price and finishing with his videos and projects he promoted. Lots of people trusted his old reputation and old achievements I think, that's why his support influenced much on on people. But the golden rule is remember always about thinking twice before investing, and do not trust even famius names.
