61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you use locktime for hodling? on: April 01, 2021, 01:19:07 PM
Why would you want to lock it if you can just hodl it the traditional way. What if there is an emergency and you really need the money for that emergency, wouldn't locking it make it difficult? You can also invest your bitcoin in gambling sites so your hodling can help you make more money. Also, if you can control your urges then you don't really need a locktime just to hodl.

May be the hardest moment for the author of this topic is not to touch his Bitcoins on the balance at all, sometimes via emotional side, sometimes because of other circumstances. As I have understood he just can not control the desire to cash out or exchange his BTCs into something another, and only because of this reason he regret nowadays about lost opportunities. That is why he would like to lock or  freeze them somehow. May be it sounds strange for some people, but it can work to others.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A quick thought on how to help/save bitcoin. on: March 31, 2021, 07:18:55 PM
Just a thought, We have all witnessed how just a tweet from a top individual in society can influence the price of bitcoin. We have also seen many people tweet about something so much, it becomes a trend and something popular that almost everyone hears about. This has got me thinking; if we all collectively pick a day or a period of time and all agree to tweet, post and create a trend about bitcoin that will last a while on twitter or any other social media platform, will this help the current price of bitcoin get to a higher ATH?

Sometimes the best help is not to try to help. Because very often our good intentions may cause harmful effect on the process that is going good enough without our participation. In my opinion the activity in social media is very intensive nowadays with lots of hashtags, comments and so on. In order the Bitcoin topic will not be banned like the virus topic, it is better not to hurry up the processes that are going on successfully enough without artificial activity.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple, Amazon and the collapse of all Banks on: March 31, 2021, 07:03:06 PM
1) Apple will fall in love with bitcoin.

2) Amazon will fall in love with Apple

3) All banks will collapse

😁😁 What an interesting endless triangle. May be Tesla is missed here?)) It might be even more funny)) Jokes are jokes. But if seriously something tells me that collapse of lots of banks will not be allowed by lots of bankers and governments. Because owners of banks are too serious figures in the business and financial world, they would not be happy to loose their income))
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could we crowdfund a movie about Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 31, 2021, 06:50:30 PM
I think we should take bitcoin/crypto marketing to the next level and motivate all bitcoin and crypto friends to crowdfund a movie about Satoshi Nakamoto. For example, the movie biography about Steve Jobs cost about 12 million USD. So I think it's even affordable...

As main protagonists I would suggest Dave Kleiman (scott patterson) and Hal Finney (Willem Dafoe/ Sean Maguire), and a third person (who is just unknown and whose identity is not clarified;Keanu Reeves).

Director: Danny Boyle or Steven Spielberg.
Screenplay: Aaron Sorkin
Music: Hans Zimmer.

We could do this as huge bitcoin community project and if every bitcoin/crypto friend contribute even a small amount, we would have the money tomorrow.

It would be even better if a crypto celebrity would start the call to increase the range!!

Of course Satoshi Nakamoto may be hard to show in the film because of the lack of information, but it may be a good idea to show even those that we have nowadays in different variants and left viewer with the unfinished final scene or with a mystery ending. May be someday someone will fulfil this idea you wrote about even despite nowadays it seems to be strange.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC was a lifetime chance and I don't think we will see a similar opportunity on: March 31, 2021, 06:33:16 PM
I don't imagine anything else that you'll be able to get for free or pennies and then value million times more. I just can't. No lottery will ever give you that. I admire the early adopters and wish I've been one of them, unfortunately no "friend" told me about it and I only joined in 2013 when I've found about it alone, still not bad but could have been better.

Not only early adopters got high profit thanks to investment into Bitcoin. Of course those who did it at the very beginning nowadays they have got good results, at least those who holded and had the access to their wallets))) but if you had learned about Bitcoin in from your friends earlier than in 2013 you would might be too sceptic or just not ready to accept this information like lots of people were those period of time in the past)))
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still being discussed in Nigerian Television on: March 31, 2021, 04:41:19 PM
It is really nice to see that in some countries people make a detailed analysis of Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies. It is an exemplary thing for all other countries and I hope too see the same thing in as many countries as possible. I also agree that it looks like Nigerians really care about cryptos and invest in them. I'm really tired of seeing people who prefer only going against cryptos rather than trying to have a better knowledge.

In my opinion there is an enough amount of people who prefer rather to be against crypto instead of deep learning the crypto nature, a d mostly the reasons to such attitude are political motives or just zero knowledge about crypto at all. Nigeria is not the exception, and all those processes there nowadays with Bitcoin and crypto are because of some political decisions.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin adoption isn't stopping on: March 30, 2021, 05:45:58 PM
Anyone seen the article by MasterCard? Nothing give me more inspiration like the intro - "Whatever your opinions on cryptocurrencies — from a dyed-in-wool fanatic to utter skeptic — the fact remains that these digital assets are becoming a more important part of the payments world."

MasterCard also talked about how people should have control over their money because it's theirs -  "We are here to enable customers, merchants and businesses to move digital value — traditional or crypto — however they want. It should be your choice, it’s your money."

I feel pleased to see how unstoppable Bitcoin becomes on a daily basis. As I once said, the chances of Bitcoin going down reduces every single day. More investors, More adoption, More users.... And so on.
This year will be great for Bitcoin! We think last year was the best? Didn't you read the new about Tesla?!
Looking forward to more big companies adopting Bitcoin.

Read: https://www.mastercard.com/news/perspectives/2021/why-mastercard-is-bringing-crypto-onto-our-network/

It is great that lots of big companies started accepting Bitcoin or at least started noticing it. Personally I do not adore Musk, his steps sometimes looks strange. But it was a good decision to allow people to buy vehicles of his company via Bitcoins. At least for  crypto world and large businesses it gave a positive signal.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's gonna buy Tesla using Bitcoin? on: March 29, 2021, 06:27:28 PM
No doubt Tesla is ruling the electronic vehicle market and sales have increased in the past. Now Elon Musk announcement of Tesla accepting btc payments have surged the btc prices above by 3% and many will be willing to do so but I am not on that list because I have my own reasons for which I am not spending my Bitcoins for just purchase of Tesla. Here are some of my reasons.

List of Tesla cars and their prices 2021:

 MODEL:                     BASE PRICE:

1)Tesla Model 3.        $38,690
2)Tesla Model S.        $81,190
3)Tesla Model X.        $91,190
4)Tesla Model Y.         $41,190
5)Tesla Roadster.       $200,000

So this is base price for some of the Tesla models and taking into consideration the depreciation effect there is average depreciation of 10-15% in EV industry so it can roughly be estimate that after 5-6 years the value of Tesla model will be less than half what you have spend.

Bitcoin prices are now at $56k and are recovering once again to cross $60k mark (which this news will surely take it to that) and they will be surging at high levels. In coming 5-6 years Bitcoins you are holding will be approximately 7-8 times more than your base investment or holdings.Suppose the Bitcoin prices reach $100k next year which will be double from $50k in 2021 then you could surely buy Tesla with that because you will be having both your Bitcoins and Tesla also if you are willing to have it.

Musk is very sharp minded and he is also accepting this payment because he knows value of Dollar has been depreciated over time and its no fun in getting USD rather he would ask for btc payments which will surely boost the companies profit with increase in prices and he will be holding btc supply as well.So be smart and save your coins for the future.

Quote
He might be asking for btc payments to Mars two way trip and colonization so save for it 😄.

Yes, the prices varying in this diapason that you mentioned. And lots of people are able to buy at least the model 3 without using their BTCs. The only thing in case someone has no such amount in dollars but has Bitcoins, he will get the opportunity to buy a car. From this point of view it is suitable. But from another point of view, on what needs to spend Bitcoin, in this case it may be inappropriate.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Folgory exchange, the biggest scam ever !!!! on: March 28, 2021, 08:18:55 PM
Alert alert, Folgory Exchange is the biggest scam exchange in history. They have stolen coins out of the users account and after that they banned their accounts. They never respond in ticket supports. They deny the withdrawals. They have deleted from their website the sepa transfer option. The whole exchange is managed by only 5 people. One of them is facing criminal issues from Italian Justice since 2014.
These guys are scammers. I don't know if they are regulated and licensed from Estonia as they claim cause they deleted also the No of their licenses.
I've searched on the internet and i found a lot of complaints regarding Folgory's attitude.

This name of the exchange reminds me something. May be I am mistaken, but I have read something alike with the name Folgory and complaints about it nearly in 2019. Someone wrote his complaints about the scam exchange and his losses. May be it was another one or may it is that exchange. Of course there are lots of situations of such kind and it is a pity to know that such kind of exchange has been existing for such a long period of time. It shows us how trusting people are, orr just unattentive.
70  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: стейблкоины в долгосрок on: March 25, 2021, 09:33:02 PM

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT are safeheaven on: March 25, 2021, 09:10:45 PM
Yes, there were some nuances in the USDT and the situation some day may be unpredictable. By the way like with all existing coins or tokens. There is no guarantee at all. Personally I use USDT from time to time, but I would not be so sure in it and would not choose USDT for holding big amounts and for a long time for example.

74  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: [ANN] Mina Protocol - сжатый блокчейн on: March 25, 2021, 08:33:16 PM
Uncapped Sale - начало 16 апреля в 17:00 по МСК.
Продают остаток от Community Sale.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 8 reasons to start playing blockchain games on: March 24, 2021, 09:49:05 PM
From the reviews you make of course it is very interesting to play blockchain games but the problem is we have to spend a lot of time to stay in it, and this will certainly be a problem for each individual to increase the revenue of the game, although we have a high probability to be able to get maximum results but we also consider the time we have spent ,but we all have different missions in getting results in the crypto world.

You are right that it may take a lot of time to get good profit from playing blockchain games. But not so rarely there is a chance to get some good profit just playing game in case you play the beta version or just at the very beginning of it's creation. Of course the more popular game becomes and the bigger amount of participants plays it, the harder to get high reward for playing it. From time to time I play blockchain games. And you know there were a couple or so where the reward was not bad, for example an Ethereum or a couple of ETH. It was in 2018 and the price of ETH was lower than nowadays. But nevertheless it was in real. There were some games that gave not so high reward but it was a bit pleasant. Everything depends on the game itself and creators' readiness to give high rewards to participants, and everything depends on personal requirements.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Coin On PANCAKESWAP on: March 24, 2021, 09:28:16 PM
Not only Pancakeswap, but even at Uniswap we often find such things. Now back to the user if they don't read carefully or don't look for valid information about the smart contract used, then of course it will be tricked by scammers.
Right, i faced that issue on UniSwap exchange, here i have seen a coin but different smart contract that means fake coin. Someone created this and added some liquidity but a lot users can be misguid. I never used PancakeSwap, i think fake/scam coins are added on the both exchanges it’s easy for the scammer. So we should check smart contract before buy any coin.

Yes, it is the golden rule for every investment - check every information you get about the coin or project, and not only smart contract, even such kind of details like the partnership for example or details of listing, social pages of the project, read project's main chats in Telegram or Discord and make the analysis what is going on there and so on. Lots of details will help you to avoid losses.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can play tricks on your mind on: March 24, 2021, 09:07:38 PM
After this latest run I thought about taking profit to get my original stake back, which is about 25% of the current value.

But then I start thinking "No, that 25% could eventually be worth many times more in a few years...".

... but then I think "What if bitcoin crashes to zero, isn't it best to take my original stake out now?"

... and then I think "no, don't bother, if it does crash to zero, it won't happen in a flash, and you could still take your original stake out on the way down."

Sheesh! Apart from Bitcoin, I've always bought risky shares, and I've gambled on sports... but I've never suffered these sort of mind games as you do with Bitcoin, and I imagine the only similar thing is penny stocks.

Does anyone else play these scenarios out in their head?
.

Of course lots of thoughts like that appear in lots of holders' heads from time to time. And it is normal because it is your assets and your opportunities. It would be more strange in case you would not have thoughts of such kind. The other thing is to think twice before making any decision and take your finger on the pulse in order to have the chance to react at once you will see changes that you are expecting for. But in my opinion Bitcoin will not be a zero in price. And even on the decrease you will have such chance and period of time  to react.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time Magazine: Will start to accept crypto for subscription on: March 24, 2021, 06:28:28 PM
This situation was really predictable. The situation on the crypto market and with different economical and social processes were of such kind in last couple of years that digital currencies came to the list of the top desired things in the bigger part of the world due to different factors. And it can be explained - a person with crypto gets more opportunities and bordeless variety comparing with banks or fiat. And during lock downs and pandemic situation people have revalued crypto and have seen on it from the other side.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla now accepts Bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 04:00:32 PM
Yeah, I just saw his tweet, this is welcoming news for bitcoin holders, that is if they wanted to get a Tesla model or Lambo,  Smiley. And Musk confirms that they are going to hold the BTC if someone buy from them. Could this fuel another rally to $60k or more? Let's see how it goes.

Yes, fascinating news) I also saw in the Twitter today. this step was the really good one, and in my opinion the best among all others Musk's steps or decisions. It will have a great resonance in the crypto society and outside it. This news will be talked about and commented for long time)) will take the finger on the pulse and see what will be happening on the crypto market.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nicole wants to give up her taxi in exchange for bitcoin on: March 23, 2021, 10:57:42 PM
I don't know how much she's making from driving, but maybe it would be a better idea to take a loan since she's a person with an income, probably also a registered business owner. It shouldn't be hard for such a person to get a loan and invest that into bitcoin while still holding on to her job.

If she's popular like you're saying it means she has an established brand in your area. That's very important and usually hard to achieve. I wouldn't throw that away.

I would not advise someone to take loans in order to buy Bitcoin. The golden rule is to invest only your own assets that you can afford without any harm for your lifestyle. Personally know persons that took loans in 2017. I think you can imagine the full spectre of their feelings in 2018 after Bitcoin's decrease. And the one more golden rule is not giving advices. Of course you may tell good arguments to her, but you may be blamed in her wrong decisions after unsuccessful results. It is better to try making the analysis together of the risks and other points, but giving her the right to choose.
