801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| DAS - Decentralized and Secure. Private Send. Masternodes. on: August 20, 2017, 03:41:29 PM
what we have now:dev has appear and talk about  new version of wallet and exchange in future. And someone with large number of subscribers sad that you should buy das. No actions, just words. And price pumps from 900 to 6000sat... Dump is coming Grin

Exactly. You can pay pretty much anybody to talk about your project, no matter what the current status of it is. People with a large reach often times aren't even involved with crypto. So you just tell them what to say, pay them and they go for it and make some nice advertisements. Nothing you can do about.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: August 20, 2017, 03:39:13 PM
Crashing now. I predict < $240 on monday night.  Wink
Bitcoin is always the King. Sorry guys  Kiss

Roger Ver has deep pockets. By Monday, the next difficulty adjustment will arrive and it will be a jolt upward. If the Bitcoin Cash supporters want to keep the miners interested, they better put up the buy support. Many of these miners are going to move on if they don't see a sustained and healthy profit margin. Wu will probably still be propping this baby up though with his magical mystery miners.

Yes but even if Roger Ver has deep pockets, this is probably a market that goes even beyond his pockets. I doubt he is sitting on several billions. And slowly but surely, that is becoming the amount to seriously move BCH up and down and play all others. Who knows which type of people also joined the BCH party.

So are the features functional by now or not? I don't really get it at this point. The guy who recommended this really has a reputation to lose and I was sure his tip will turn out to be valuable. Not the case yet.

Hey guys would anyone answer that question? I can't seem to get real insight into the project, but I was considering investing. So har far is this by now? For what type of purposes can it be used already?

Does anyone have an answer to that? Thanks!

People forget that Bitcoin itself could turn into anything it wants. People will just treat it much more cautiously, which in my opinion is a good thing.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN/ICO] Billionaire Token (XBL) Gambling and deflation through Smart Contracts on: August 14, 2017, 02:26:33 PM
If I buy a single token from this project, am I guaranteed to become a Billionaire?

You can't buy a single token, the minimum buy price is 50$.

And you're not guaranteed anything, but you will have the chance.

I like a dev that answers questions regularly Cheesy  So do you think that eventually down the road, you might be a platform for a full online casino?  Bring in more dev's to help as the funding comes in?  Also, in your poker rooms is the value of wager going to be pegged to btc, usd, eur to make it obvious how much they are gambling?

That is our ultimate goal, we need to see how things progress first, though.

Damn it, when I read the thread title I thought "omg, that's it!". And now you destroyed that illusion Sad

Poloniex has opened trading for BCH but there will no more be any effect because Polo is no more on the seat of market driven. Volume at Polo has dropped at incredibly low, BCH over all will be in this range. In my opinion more chances for BCH to loose little more instead of bouncing back at where it was during last few days.

Wow I haven't been following the volume statistics for quite a while. Poloniex dropped a lot indeed and Bittrex made it to the forefront. Good stuff I'd say, but I didn't really expect that after Polo's crazy run in the last 2 years.

BCH is pretty stagnant on polo the order book isn't moving very fast.

I looked earlier and the last order was around 4 mins ago it's picked up a bit now but still only filling orders every couple of seconds still faster than the actual network though don't know about now but yesterday the mempool was only seeing a transaction every 4 (0.25) seconds where bitcoin was doing about 4 (4.00) a second

Yes but I was rather referring to Polo as an exchange itself. They were the absolutely dominant exchange in terms of volume, weren't they? And now those times seem to be over. Was just surprised.

I see. But maybe you could for example provide a bi-weekly update or so. Something that people can rely on so they know that this project isn't simply dead.

Yes but somebody should keep this channel a little bit more active and up to date with the newest infos. Not everybody is going to sign up for every single slack channel.

The funding goal seems super ambitious. Excited whether that will work out successfully. Hope so, good luck everyone!

No answer for two days now. What is the most active communication channel? I mean, this is literally dead. Anyone here?

815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| DAS - Decentralized and Secure. Private Send. Masternodes. on: August 14, 2017, 08:26:45 AM
This coin that rely on 1 anonymous developer has no future especially when he doesn't even bother updating the community. Heck I'm not even sure if the developer is still actively developing. He just copied the source code of DASH then find and replace DASH with DAS and didn't even bother checking if "DAS" is already taken. Go ahead and Google dascoin, you'll find that it is associated with a scammy pyramid networking company.

If you want a cheap masternode with a better outlook then buy Arctic coins.

At least with ARC, I know there's an active development behind the scene. It may seem that it is abandoned but if you go to their russian forum, discordia, slack, twitter and facebook you'll find it quite the opposite.

Yes, I don't think this will have a chance and maybe it isn't even meant to be successful by the dev. Why would he want to stay anonymous with this kind of project? And if doesn't communicate, then you got all the ingredients for what others would call out as a scam.

As for the volume, is that about reasonable or did anyone here expect it to be much higher, even within that short period of time? It's surprising that it more or less kept its price and didn't get dumped to oblivion.

Any input is very welcome here I think. As for the Zerocoin protocol, what is the ETA to have everything in place and working?

-snip-

now can i ask you, is segwit coin really necessary?
is peter toad smarter than satoshi?
what side are you on and why?
thanks m8  Smiley

IMO what was laid out 9 years ago doesn't have to be the be all and end all of bitcoin, over time, especially in the information sector, things change and grow. Segwit improves apon the origonal code in a way that perhaps Satoshi didn't even think about way back then, it fixes the malleability and quadratic scaling issues, increases transaction throughput and does this without the need of a hardfork. Its not about siding with whos smarter than who, you dont have to pick one team and block everyone else out, even entry level coders can come up with incredibly elegant solutions sometimes just because they aren't locked into the existing status quo.

None of the current proposals are good long term solutions and maybe bigger blocks will be necessary but its something that is being rushed unnecessarily at the moment. Personally for the main chain I believe that after segwit is activated we should wait and see what affect it has while continuing to work on other solutions like block size increases and other future bug fixes then, when and if it is deemed necessary, roll out as many of these improvemnts as possible in a single hardfork and only after the code has been thoroughly tested and peer reviewed. I dont think hardforking should be something that is taken lightly.

The beauty of bitcoin is that no one owns it and I can almost guarantee that is why Satoshi has publically dissapeared from the scene because he knows that if he were a public figure his opinion would be the final say on bitcoins future and I believe that in the end that goes against everything that he and bitcoin is about... decentralisation.

Well, I believe that Satoshi created a protocol where he thought about the things that he couldn't think about back then. He created a protocol that makes everything possible. In order to take that properly into account, it would be more fair to say that he obviously created a solution that excludes nothing fro becoming reality. This is the huge achievement of Satoshi.

820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: |ANN| DAS - Decentralized and Secure. Private Send. Masternodes. on: August 12, 2017, 06:28:47 PM
master nodes are cheap so anyone can start one, as the number of masternodes increase the return decreases

The is not correct since the price of the coin affects the return way more then the number of master nodes. Say twice as many people ran master node and the price goes up twice as much then you are still making the same. So by saying 'as the number of masternodes increase the return decreases' is not correct.

Say I went and bought 1000 DASH and now the price goes down and now I"m not making as much as I was on that master node so the price has way more to do with return than the number of master nodes.

But that is exactly my point, masternodes alone aren't going to be enough to drive the value of the coin up, what I would like to know is what is the plan to do that?

I fear that at this point the dev didn't really think far beyond master node stuff, correct me if I am wrong. Masternodes are a great way to incentivize buying the coin, thereby making it an attractive project that makes the developer quick money. We'll find out soon enough how the devs actually think Wink
