801  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Democracy is dead. on: October 07, 2018, 07:30:30 PM
These are very good arguments and it's true for more or less all countries, no matter who you vote for, they always let you down or pull some crap from which just benefit friends which oil the system.

But the real question is what are the alternatives then?
802  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators of the Russian branch are accomplices to WEX scammers on: October 07, 2018, 09:18:18 AM
Whatever you are claiming, should be backed up with hard proofs, if you want to be taken seriously.
803  Other / Meta / Re: QUALITY over quantity! on: October 07, 2018, 09:14:53 AM
Somebody was suggesting to order the threads based on the number of merit received in it. Maybe adding as well some more weight given from the amount of merits received by the people posting in it could separate good threads from the bad one.

The voting alone doesn't sound right.

807  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Paying for education on: October 06, 2018, 02:07:13 PM
Imo you can just learn by doing it, maybe in a mechanical way and using the right tools, however behind trading there are people which studied a lot and have a deep understanding of statistics and matematic. There is a lot of thery behind it that is not directly related with trading at all.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PURPOSE OF TOKEN? on: October 06, 2018, 08:00:25 AM
Hi guys, this just bother me long time ago, and just popped up recently..

What is the purpose of token?

I can not figure it out because I have one token before and I did not know how to use it and I can not even transfer it to bitcoin. I am just wondering why people keep inventing and creating so much token at all.
I hope I can get POSITIVE response and not some hates and negative one.

Thank you.

I'll give you just this, amazing idea and implementation of a smart contract to create a stabletoken, always worth 1$ covered by ethereum:

https://medium.com/@james_3093/the-dai-stablecoin-is-a-game-changer-for-ethereum-and-the-entire-cryptocurrency-ecosystem-13fb412d1e75

Does it work? Yep https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dai/

Non la conoscevo e devo ancora approfondire, ma vedo che la stanno usando alla grande a giudicare da quante ne hanno emesse https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dai/

Finalmente qualcosa di nuovo e verificabile  Smiley

Updated with the data provided today (Friday 5th of October)

I'm working on a way to include full information about the users related with merit, but is going to be most likely an ad hoc solution rather than integrate all the data in this tool as the size of the database could start to grow too much.

Just a quick update on the graph on the main post, i just got the merit data coming from today and updated it, it seems to be converging back to the values pre-restrictions indeed:

815  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [INFO] +MERIT.

816  Other / Meta / Re: Should merit source distribute all sMerit? on: October 05, 2018, 04:53:32 AM
I don't know exactly what is the problem in your local section, but i do understand that people sometime get busy in real life and have not much time to read or discover new and meritable posts. Maybe in the next months the number of merit sources will be increased again.

Then i believe it doesn't really matter if the merit sources spend 1-5-10-100% or their merits quota for each period, as long as good posts get merited.
817  Other / Meta / Re: Question about forum finances (again :P) on: October 04, 2018, 07:36:13 PM
Guys... BTCT is not a public company... no one has any obligation to post their private earnings.
Would you go to a local café-bar and while drinking your coffee, ask them how much is their yearly income? Well if you're friends with them maybe, but otherwise that'd be totally weird.

Is not the first time the forum publish these kind of informations as you can see

I'm behind on the accounting. 2015 is basically done, but I need to double-check it and apply the results of taxes (even when there's a net loss, there may be capital gain taxes). 2016 is still very incomplete: I've had to do half of the work in order to pay taxes, but I basically need to go through everything again to figure out forum balances. Sloppy, I know, but I've been disincentivized to spend many hours figuring it out exactly because the reserves so obviously exceed the expenses. There's currently about 1250 BTC(+BCH) in reserve.

Keep in mind that if I make an accounting mistake, almost certainly the result of this will be that I pay forum expenses out of my own pocket accidentally. The income is almost all very obvious/public, and I have to list all of the expenses that I temporarily paid out of pocket in order to be repaid from the forum income or reserves. So it's very unlikely that I would take too much money.

Here are approximate numbers.

Code:
2015:
Income: About $144,000
Expenses - Forum software project: $849,400
Expenses - Mods and others: About $104,000

2016:
Income: About $178,000
Expenses - Forum software project: $36,260
Expenses - Mods and others: About $85,000
Expenses - Hosting etc: About $27,000

2017 !!!VERY TENTATIVE!!!
Income: About $1,065,000
Expenses - Forum software project: About $159,000
Expenses - Mods and others: About $120,000
Expenses - Hosting etc: About $40,000
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Movement | Fully Decentralized Organization | VR DAO on: October 04, 2018, 09:36:38 AM
I just saw Decentraland made an announcement, they are partnering with Animoca Brands, this company is going to help them developing two games for the Decentraland.

I like the idea they Decentraland is going to be some sort of hub not only for VR but also for gaming, games can make it easier to introduce the platform to a wider audience

here is the article:

819  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies restrictions, pattern from the aftermath - data and few cosiderations on: October 04, 2018, 08:43:55 AM
personally I think it should be 20, Members get a warning now and have 3 months to gain the needed 50 merits, if they cant then they lose sig rights - even existing members+

that should make this an interesting place

it may be a bit drastic 50 merits, however nothing it's preventing to raise the requirement of a small amount of merits, followed by a checking period to verify what are the effects. Then rinse and repeat till you reach the "sweet spot".
820  Other / Serious discussion / Re: World laughing at the US on: October 04, 2018, 05:37:41 AM
Trump is what i would call an entertainer, he has some sort of appeal that can lure in certain people, which ultimately are to blame for all this.

Probably everybody heard about Berlusconi in Italy, he made a joke of himself countless of time by saying and doing thing that he shouldn't have, his goal by being in politics was mainly stay out of jail and change laws to make sure his businesses would stay afloat. I'm not really sure about Trump, but i don't really believe he handed up there to "Make America Great Again".

Short story shot, what is happening in the US imo is exactly the same thing happened in Italy, on different scale.  Smiley
