Nft as a public register for land/property etc can be very useful
It won't work. First, to have real meaning in the real world, it needs a government system. If they for instance replace the DMV by an Nft, I bet many people will lose their keys and with that lose ownership of their car. The same will happen to properties: if you lose your backup, you lose your house!
8142  Economy / Reputation / Re: Did topman21 Legendary account get compromised? on: April 14, 2022, 05:00:58 PM
you should put a negative feedback
How about you do it? You may not be DT, but if you believe someone deserves it: do it.
8143  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: April 14, 2022, 04:39:28 PM
Yeah I did. Chipmixer.PHISHING.xyz and chipmixer.com
How did you get to the .xyz site? Google? It's the first site Google shows me when searching for "chipmixer".
I'm more and more disappointed in Google nowadays: they used to take pride in providing the very best search results, but when searching for chipmixer they usually show a phishing site first. My browser even remembers I reported them to Google a long time ago. Google doesn't care.
And every time someone falls for it, the scammers have more funding to continue their scam Sad

They are probably out of funds
That could be the reason. I tried again (by scanning the QR-code in Phoenix Wallet, because I already uninstalled Muun), and it worked now. Funds were received in a few seconds.
I've sent 2100 sat back to HRF.org.

What's the RPC command to do the dump on local full node?
You may be interested in Bitcoin UTXO Dump.
I haven't had the time yet to test it (use at your own risk).
8146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet.dat won't load on: April 14, 2022, 08:44:36 AM
I've just downloaded bitcoin core and the whole blockchain, but it gets stuck when trying to open the wallet itself. Should it take a long time and I just have to wait, or is there a problem and a way to fix it?
I just tested it by opening a 4 year old wallet: Bitcoin Core starts, and shows a window with "Rescanning..." at the bottom. It's now going through hundreds of GB of blockchain on my local disk to check transactions on all addresses inside that wallet. If yours shows the same, just wait. This can take a few hours depending on your system.

If this thread looks like fishing for merit,

How are these?

Nutildah?
TecShare - Farewell my friend.
Those aren't fishing for Merit. The first OP doesn't need it, the second OP couldn't care less about it.

Your list doesn't make much sense. I know for a fact that it's incomplete, and you seem to not know about (up to 400) airdropped sMerit, which means your list is flawed from the start.

I think Muun wallet team received some donations before from HRF ($25k back in 2021)
~
You can try receiving sats with other wallet, but there must be a reason for them to say several times to use Muun wallet and not something else.
I was expecting this to work the other way: usually "the wallet" would pay someone for promoting their wallet. I wasn't expecting this from Human Rights Foundation, but I guess it makes sense considering those headlines on the site:

Hi,

Congratulations on taking the first step of your Bitcoin journey. If you haven’t already, please download MuunWallet (iOS or Android). This will be the Bitcoin wallet you use to claim your Bitcoin.

Click this link to be redirected to our Bitcoin faucet. Tap “Copy LNURL”.

Open up MuunWallet, and create a new wallet. Tap “Receive”, then tap “Lightning”. Tap the scan button at the top right – it looks like this: [--] – then paste the LNURL link.

Congratulations, you have successfully received your first Bitcoin!

-Human Rights Foundation
BlueWallet says: "Unsupported lnurl".
Phoenix Wallet can't scan the QR-code. Copying it manually shows "legend.lnbits.com returned an error".
Muun Wallet says: "Contacting legend.lnbits.com...", followed by "Something went wrong".
That's not the best promotion for LN Sad

I'd start by checking port forwarding, for instance from router settings.
8150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost part of the mnemonic phrase on: April 13, 2022, 02:07:11 PM
But even if there's no backup, sometimes it's possible to recover file which updated/modified. I would recommend you to make raw copy of your drive (with tool such as HDD Raw Copy[1]), so later you could use recovery tools (such as PhotoRec[2] or Recuva[3]) without worry the data overwritten since you keep using it.
I'm not sure how Windows stores text files, but if it's really just stored as plain text, it would be quite easy to do a raw search for some of the known words on the entire disk.

Brute force 4 missing Electrum words isn't cheap
~
2048^4 is rather large combination
According to Ian Coleman's BIP39 Split Mnemonic, it takes 109 seconds to hack if you know 8 out of 12 words. I can't really believe those numbers, that would mean checking 161 billion combinations per second. But I am now curious how much processing power some of the professionals have for this.
8151  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Prefix Difficulty Calculator c# assistance please! Base code included in post. on: April 13, 2022, 11:21:04 AM
This post reminded me of another business opportunity for you: could you also do split-key .onion addresses? I found a topic from 6 years ago, but that's not an automated service. I can imagine there's a demand for this (and I still hope Bitcointalkxxxx.onion will be created at some point).
8152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help a newbie; why is hashing not done once but twice during Bitcoin transaction on: April 13, 2022, 10:34:39 AM
Yeah on that particular block explorer, but not on blockchain.com. If you look at blockchain.com, you can see that block 91880 has the same timestamp as block 91722 for the coinbase transaction.
That's a good reminder you shouldn't always trust block explorers (and especially not to trust blockchain.com, they have far too many bugs).

Their bank never has bugs that affect their account balance or if they do they get fixed so that no one loses any money...
I've read countless stories about bugs in bank account balances. Say 10 billion dollar balance, or transactions that get processed twice. Usually the bank indeed fixes it, but it can still cause problems (such as spending money you don't have).
8153  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Prefix Difficulty Calculator c# assistance please! Base code included in post. on: April 12, 2022, 06:28:50 PM
Remember this service is being designed for the retail investor.
Do you remember this post? I know it's not really practical, and you'll need cooperation of customers to hand over their keys when requested, but it has the potential to search for many split key vanity addresses at once.
8154  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Prefix Difficulty Calculator c# assistance please! Base code included in post. on: April 12, 2022, 05:24:03 PM
If difficulty is x and you say it should take you 3 days, so you charge $x, what happens if you find it in 1 hour? Do you refund the customer for 71 hours?
Or what if it takes you 6 days to find, do you go back to customer and charge extra?
I assume this is a risk of the service provider: you can't know how long it really takes, all you know is how long it takes for 50% chance of finding the address. The "lucky" ones are easy money, but that money is needed for the "unlucky" addresses that takes 100 times longer than expected.

I could be wrong here, but did you say your site will check around 24,000 MKey/s? What program will your site be using? 24,000 MKey/s does not seem like a lot. I have an 8 card rig that can do that.
Here I am using my old laptop that does 9 Mkeys/s on GPU Shocked
8155  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: April 12, 2022, 04:45:30 PM
It works for me, I just checked it now in my Tor browser, so it must be something on your end or try changing Tor identity with new IP address.
BestChange.com also works for me on Android Tor browser, just not on my PC.
I'm not the only one with this problem (someone asked about it by PM, and had the same problem using VPN). I haven't seen this on any other website.
I tried several New Tor Circuits already, that didn't work.
A New Tor Identity is more work, as it resets all open tabs. I tried it now, but it didn't work either.
8156  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Forget about exchanger search! Use BestChange! on: April 12, 2022, 11:03:59 AM
whether it is still unreachable or returned to normal?
Still not working on Tor.
8157  Economy / Reputation / Re: 325btc with loads of topics on: April 12, 2022, 10:58:57 AM
I noticed some of the user's topics before, but didn't notice it's that many. He has 116 topics and 187 posts, which means he doesn't even respond to many of his topics anymore.

* fishing for merit: one who creates a topic rising valid points gets merit
He's not even hiding it:
Merit for this if you see that im full knowledge and with my analyses
Merit for this of you are person with selfrespect
Yes thats the situation merit if you got goodknowledge about finances and also forex markets.
Merit if you dont like games and you wamt product working good if not i guess you like when everybody step on it then perhaps was crypto created to take money from people you are

What was changed/edited?
Not the post. The only difference I find is in the title: "¸" in the middle is replaced by a space. I can't be sure who did that (and why).
8159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Installing bitcoin core on fedora on external SSD drive on: April 12, 2022, 08:52:08 AM
Okay, I managed to run it the first time and it created a config file in which I can change the datadir. It now tries to install it in the proper place when I rerun it, but thinks I only have 3 GB free... (I have a free terabyte)
First: note that pruning is enabled if you don't untick the checkbox at the bottom. That means you won't store the full blockchain.
Are you sure /run/medida/salvo is your external drive? I haven't used Fedora in a while, but I'm not used to drives being mounted in /run.

Last week, I was asked about your site being unreachable using VPN or Tor. I check, and indeed it didn't work while Down for Everyone or Just Me showed the site is up. It's still the same on Tor:

The connection has timed out

The server at bestchange.com is taking too long to respond.
It used to work fine on Tor. Did something change?
