its amazing how optimistic a lot of people over at HT still are. Bunch of suckers

Delusional. They've lost a LOT of $. I can't blame some of them holding on for dear life. sad but true.

yeah  I am in NJ and I have a friend in south Jersey I told  him sell sell sell sell back in DEC last year.  this guy Josh is like Bernie Madoff.  I have not heard from my buddy since early dec.  I hope he sold some of it.

I explained to him that there are tax issues with paycoin.  When paycoin was issued and had some value  it was 4-8 bucks.  So if you had got in early you could be at a cost basis of 2 bucks.  so:
 2 x 1000 = 2000  was his cost to get the 1000 coins
6 x  1000 = 6000  was what they were worth when he got them.

profit = 4000.   this was his profit  the day he could have sold them off.

if you are usa based  the feds say in 2014 you made 4k pay us the tax.  they don't give a shit it bombed out in 2015 for 2014 you owe tax.  the 2015 result is a year later.

So if you had 1000 paycoins and held them you will now pay about 1000 taxes on them with the 2014 return.

So his initial investment of 2k and a tax bill of 1k  and those coins are now worth  41 cents or 410 usd.  he will have lost 2600

Seriously? Do you even live in the usa and pay taxes?  Huh

There is nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose. Even behind bars Garbozo won't be safe. A guy who has lost that much would get arrested just for a chance to shank the lyin ass. Josh's chickens will come home to roost soon enough, a great big SEC chicken.

The reality is when the truth finally comes into the light, be glad if you were smart enough to bail early and take a small loss.

Mr. Garbozo will spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder in prison or not.

Unfortunately, the wheels of justice grind very slow in the usa. However, they grind hard eventually.  Smiley

[14:31] <huey> our dev team already has fork ready that would apply major change to the coin.... but wouldnt kill it
[14:31] <huey> but we dont control that yet
[14:31] <savexpy> can you tell me more about the changes?
[14:32] <huey> i thought this was a disscussion about how you have the means and i have the community?
[14:32] <huey> honestly i could but at what gaim
[14:32] <huey> once again i dont really work with people i dont know
[14:32] <savexpy> right, but obviously changing the functionality of the coin to free it from the grasp of one organization is an important thing to discuss
[14:33] <savexpy> so if you've already laid the ground work for that, id be curious to hear more
[14:33] <huey> actually let me clearify ... i straight up dont work with people dont know
[14:33] <huey> ive not only laid the ground work for it
[14:33] <huey> we have plans in place to make it happen

His own community is staging a mutiny. I love it.

I'm still cracking up at this one:

Not sure if anyone else sees what I'm seeing... @GAWHUMERO 's twitter image shows him with a big "WELCH" sign. In Britain, to welch (on a deal) is to back out...
http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/welch
Are you trying to tell us something, Josh? Maybe you should change the picture you're using...
http://postimg.org/image/87ov32wf9/

Welch means the same here in the USA, too:

From the CSM article,

"In 2006, Garza was a main attraction at a campaign rally for then-congressional-candidate Peter Welch. Mr. Welch held up Garza as a prototypical Vermont business owner he would nurture to put the state "at the front of an emerging world economy [with] well-paying jobs today and tomorrow.”

Edit - I guess it's like karma or something right? Hahaha!

8175  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of transparent exchanges. on: February 03, 2015, 02:30:33 AM
Coinfloor appears to have proof of solvency and a recent audit but I'm not sure how that applies to their exchange reserves:
https://coinfloor.co.uk/

You might like to list www.100bit.co.in. They are not yet open for public. But, AFAIK, they will be opening soon. They do not hold user fund either.

Thanks Smiley Sounds like an OTC with escrow service with trading features, similar to bitcoin.de but without the need to maintain a balance to trade.

More stories coming in regarding exchanges with forged IOUs. This time it is Cryptsy...

2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=943483.0

Regarding www.100bit.co.in, it appears to be a promising project.

ProTip:

Don't leave any MONEY on ANY exchange longer than you can afford to lose it - do your trades, gtfo, or you MAY loose (lol) your BTC

I wired money to btc-e last Thursday.  They credited it to my account on Friday, but they froze withdrawals for a month.  When I emailed support about it, they wrote me back saying "Hello, please attach SWIFT document" for the wire.
My bank says there is no such thing.  What is btc-e actually asking for?

Hi,

this is fonzie from BTC-E team, please send us your SWIFT document and we will unfreeze your withdrawls, no problem. If you have any further questions feel free to ask them.

хороший день

A small P.S. to msarro.
I checked the profile of the guy who claimed to be the DDOSer. It seems he got burned, so if all the information is real it was his swan song.
https://hashtalk.org/topic/29774/why-i-m-never-leaving/22

Yep, bl4nk is gone as well. GAW MO is to burn any bridge that has outlived its usefulness so it isn't surprising.

Sorry for the brusque language, just tired of seeing people try to make excuses for the HT community OR saying cf throws around baseless accusations and that's how I took what you were saying.

No hard feelings.  Smiley
I expect facts, especially from journalists and i'm satisfied with CF's response at the moment. We had enough FUD in crypto.

I used to be GAW client in August and September and they looked like a responsible company at the time. Them DDOSing sites and stealing domains still seems improbable, at least to me, but a burned investor like geekhaven... who knows.

Possible FUD below:

Another thing I'm interested in is their relation with Hashie. Back in the day a lot of people attacked GAW threads pushing hashie shares and calling GAW a scam, later when hashie failed somebody said that the owner of hashie is a moderator on hashtalk. Can anyone confirm this? Did GAW have a double agent leeching their clients and mimicking their business model, or were they working together, acting like a competing businesses to get the most out of the market?

That is something we've been trying to followup on regarding Hashie. One of our contributors made some headway regarding a moderator on Hashtalk having something to do with Hashie but as of yet we haven't found anything conclusive enough that I'd be willing to publish.

We are going to be releasing a blog post this afternoon detailing our editorial process and fact-checking systems along with a commitment to publish an Editorial Bible on GitHub for others to use, edit and guide when running any sort of news site.

The post detailing our process has been on the back burner but we promised to do it and I have a copy editor reviewing the feature now. The GitHub release of the Bible will come in the near future as well. We need to remove some of our "secret sauce" such as who can be contacted to vet something off the record and the naming of some sources but we hope that this document can help not only those in the cryptocurrency news space but those in other news spaces as well.

It is sad that some investors have been burned in this and many other cryptocurrency things but we hope we can help provide some accurate reporting to prevent further things like this in the future and show people they can vet statements as well.

This seems fairly accurate. she did have an interview (bitjane) on her blog with bbit, but then deleted it all when hashie took the money and ran...

It doesnt only have to do with member level, it also has to do with reputation.

There are simple rules to follow for safe and secure currency exchange on the forum.

Always prefer escrow. IT just makes things simpler for everyone.

Regards

Duke
Well brand new accounts are much easier to make then higher level accounts. Therefore it takes ~10 minutes to create and use a brand new account while it takes months to build up higher ranking accounts. While you should trade with caution with people without any reputation, you should trade with additional caution when they are a brand new user like the OP
Don't trust anyone. hodl your btc. don't get sucked in scams.
