Rand Paul rolls out caucus state endorsements

Sen. Rand Paul's 2016 presidential campaign is rolling out a set of endorsements from state legislators in caucus states on Thursday, POLITICO has learned.

The move underscores Paul's effort to turnaruond lackluster polling and stay competitive in the presidential race by focusing more on caucus states. The hope is that Paul's push to win over delegates now will open a pathway that other campaigns ignore as they tear each other apart jockeying for placement in the earliest primary states. So over the past month or so, Paul has made a concerted push to campaign harder in caucus states like Maine, Washington, Wyoming, and Utah.

As part of that push, Paul has secured the endorsements of a number of state lawmakers in those states. The announcement on Thursday includes endorsements in Nevada, Minnesota, Kansas, and Utah. In Nevada, Assemblywoman Shelly Shelton, Assemblyman John Moore are backing Paul. In Minnesota, it's state Sen. Roger Chamberlain, state Sen. Brendan Peterson, Minnesota Republican Liberty Caucus Chairman Neil Lynch. In Kansas, it's state Rep. Brett Hildabrand. And in Utah, state Sen. Mark Madsen, state Rep. Jacob Anderegg, and Utah County Commissioner Bill Lee are all backing Paul.

Paul's campaign advisers say they're particularly optimistic about picking up more endorsements in Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, and Nevada. More endorsements in Utah and Wyoming are also in the pipeline, a Paul aide said. The campaign also hopes that its efforts to organize Paul chapters on college campuses will pay off in caucus states.

The endorsements come a day after CNBC announced its criteria for the next Republican presidential debate on Oct. 28 — which look like trouble for Paul. Under the network's criteria, Paul, who is currently polling at 2.3 percent in the RealClearPolitics average of national polls, could well fall short of making the debate stage.

"We feel really confident that we're going to make the next debate," Michael Biundo, the Paul campaign's chief strategist for New England, said.

I suspect that whether it's Bush or Obama collecting this stuff via the NSA, it's most likely being warehoused for when the wheels finally fall off this economy and the currency. On one hand, they want to know who the patriots are who have weapons at their disposal or the wherewithal to fight back. On the other, they want to  scope out the dependent classes whom are likely to be a major problem in riots to come when the checks stop coming or are worthless. Just a thought.

Sen. Rand Paul Jumps Cruz+Rubio In New Reuters Poll

Judging by the latest polling numbers from Reuters, rumors of the death of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul’s 2016 GOP Presidential campaign have been greatly exaggerated. According to the Reuters poll, Paul has jumped ahead of Senate colleagues Marco Rubio of Florida and Ted Cruz of Texas. Paul garners 5.6 % while Rubio is at 5.3% and Cruz at 5.1%Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, and former HP CEO Carly Fiorina continue to lead the field.

While the first nominating contests are still four months away, the poll is an immensely positive sign for Paul after a recent slump. His performance at the Reagan Library debate where he schooled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on the 10th Amendment and state’s rights could definitely be a factor in Paul’s bounce.

The Paul campaign is pleased with the poll, saying it matches private polling they’ve conducted and shows the campaign’s strategies are paying off.

Rand Paul: Ted Cruz ‘Pretty Much Done For’ in Senate

Sen. Rand Paul on Tuesday said fellow Republican presidential candidate Ted. Cruz is “done for” in the Senate.

“Ted has chosen to make this really personal and chosen to call people dishonest in leadership and call them names, which really goes against the decorum and also against the rules of the Senate, and as a consequence, he can’t get anything done legislatively,” Paul told Fox News Radio. “He is pretty much done for and stifled and it’s really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem.”

Paul, a Kentucky Republican who has had the backing of his home-state senior senator, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, despite some tough policy differences, had been asked about Cruz’s inability to even muster the support of 11 senators to secure a roll call vote on a procedural motion designed to amend the continuing resolution to keep the government running.

The Senate’s set to vote on passage of that measure at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the last day of the federal government’s 2015 fiscal year.

“I approach things a little different, I am still just as hardcore in saying what we are doing, I just chose not to call people liars on the Senate floor and it’s just a matter of different perspectives on how best to get to the end result,” Paul said in the interview.

This is total crap. All lives matter, especially those that are following the law where police are actually decent and doing what they're payed for. I can see how they'd hate police for certain things and behavior lately but the inner city community needs to police their own. Stop having kids outside of marriage or outside of dual jobs that can foot the bill for the kid(s) to grow up independently and well read w/o the syndrome of dependence. And that goes for all folks having kids regardless of race, despite the consideration of this OP's title.

Yeah, heard about this exchange between them and I totally feel for the German people as they're in a fixed position as their leader has sold them down the river. However, Americans are yet to see the endgame on what the immigration protocol is going to put on their plate after the rest of the south americans come aboard in the country as well as what comes from the middle east. You don't invite folks into a welfare baring country, for one, let alone in a time when the middle class is being wiped out once and for all. Well over half off these new immigrants are on welfare and medical services at this point and I work at an ER entry point so I see the extras coming in on a regular basis. The whole picture is bleak and expensive, immigrants and regulars alike. Overload is going on plus the shift in payment mechanisms change in a few days.

The easiest way for the youngsters around here to earn plural bitcoins and more is to work full or part time while staying at your parents house and just keep stacking a percentage of one's weekly wage into bitcoin over the course of a period of time. You'll get a full coin and more way faster than just messing around w/ sig campaigns and gambling.
829  Other / Politics & Society / Using illegal immigration for political advantage on: September 29, 2015, 08:23:35 PM
Obama is importing a new electorate by the millions

The White House has doubled down on its efforts to use massive illegal immigration for political advantage.

On September 17, traditionally known as Constitution Day, the White House chose to highlight it as Citizenship Day, announcing a national campaign by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to naturalize legal immigrants and turn them into millions of new voters by 2016.

That’s right. Tax dollars allotted to the agency responsible for safeguarding our borders and ensuring national security are being spent to facilitate a permanent political sea change next year.

Reporting on the campaign, The New York Times noted that “about 60 percent of immigrants eligible to naturalize are Latino and about 20 percent are Asian, both groups that voted overwhelmingly for President Obama. Nearly a third of legal permanent residents eligible to naturalize are Mexican.”

Since 1980, the Hispanic vote differential for Democratic presidential candidates has never been less than 18 percent (Democrat John Kerry v. President George W. Bush in 2004) and has averaged 33 percent. With Hispanics making up more than 10 percent of the electorate and growing fast, this is no small advantage.

Asian voters, who once were typically anti-communist, Southeast Asian refugees who voted overwhelmingly Republican, now heavily favor Democrats. In 2012, nearly three-quarters of Asian-American voters, who represent 3 percent of the electorate, voted for President Obama.

These demographic trends bode well for Democrats, but for a White House looking to establish permanent, one-party rule, it is never enough. Hence, Homeland Security’s campaign to naturalize 8.8 million green card holders as fast as possible.
...
With the country divided almost equally between the two major parties, a massive voter infusion of newly coined citizens could easily tip the balance, which is why Democrats relentlessly press for immigration amnesty while their media allies label any resistance to unlimited immigration as “hate,” “bigotry” and “xenophobia.”

DHS is funneling millions of tax dollars to groups that back amnesty and naturalization. The agency’s Citizenship and Integration Grant Program has awarded $53 million through 262 competitive grants since 2009 to organizations in 35 states and the District of Columbia, according to its website.

Major grant recipients include Catholic Charities in several cities as well as various ethnic pressure groups in major urban areas all over the country. One perennial $250,000 grantee, Make the Road New York, recently sponsored the Fourth Annual TransLatina March to protest “Homotransphobia.”
...
Mr. Obama is importing and bribing a new electorate with government largesse in order to fundamentally transform the United States. Immigration per se is not the issue. The combination of lawless immigration with ruthless political calculation, is.

Paul slams spending bill

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) slammed his Republican colleagues over backing a short-term spending bill, calling Congress a "withering shadow" of what it once was.

"Congress is a withering shadow," the Kentucky Republican said. "It's a shadow of what it once was. Congress has no power, exerts no power, and we walk and we live in the shadow of a presidency that is growing larger and larger and larger."

Paul's remarks come as the Senate is expected to pass a short-term spending bill that includes money for Planned Parenthood ahead of an end-of-the-month deadline to fund the government and avoid a shutdown.

The Kentucky Republican, who is running for president, was one of 19 Republicans who voted against moving forward with the short-term continuing resolution (CR) during a procedural vote on Monday.

He added on Tuesday that the legislation is a "steaming pile of the same old same old. ... A warmed over version of yesterday's failures."

Dropping a USD/JPY chart isn't very helpful, he can do a lot better than that in regards to bitcoin. No wonder it wasn't posted here by him. No offense Chess if and when you see this.

Rand Paul is best of Republican field

There are a ton of Republicans running for president right now. And Rand Paul reminded us in the recent debate that "there are 14 candidates willing to go back to Iraq." That Rand Paul is the only one not in a hurry to spend American dollars and American lives revisiting the biggest mistake in the last 15 years gives me hope and despair.

It saddens me that he is the only one hesitant to get involved in more foreign conflicts, but I am grateful that at least he is there. I have always respected Dr. Paul's fight to uphold the Constitution, but until now I didn't understand that for him, the Constitution doesn't do any good for American sons and daughters that have already died fighting someone else's war. During the debate, I saw a man who wants to let the Constitution protect American citizens from their government, as it was intended, and that includes protecting the men and women in the military from unconstitutional wars.

With so many people running, it is sometimes hard to tell them apart. But the recent debate proved that Rand Paul is unique in his foreign policy. If you don't want to go back to Iraq, you really have just one option. It's a good thing his tax plan is pretty great, too.

Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio Vote for $400 Billion Spending Increase While Rand Paul Opposed It

Yesterday, the Senate voted on a “stop-gap” spending bill that would have temporarily funded the government for a few months.

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio voted for the spending bill because it “defunds Planned Parenthood,” but that misses the point completely. While Cruz and Rubio talked the talk about defunding Planned Parenthood, Rand Paul personally drafted a bill to actually do it.

But now, Cruz and Rubio are using the stop-gap spending bill to drum up support for “defunding Planned Parenthood.” But they’re off-base.

Yes, the stop-gap spending bill did defund Planned Parenthood’s roughly $500 million in funding. But the bill also increased American debt by more than $400 billion. Rand Paul refused to support such huge increases in debt and spending:

Sen. Paul has led the charge against Planned Parenthood and introduced legislation to defund it. This Short-Term Continuing Resolution, however, does everything except resolve the problem– it is a canard. This ‘resolution’ will add $400 billion in new debt over the full year and a $10 billion increase over the budget caps.
Sen. Paul has never voted for a continuing resolution or omnibus spending bill. Since taking office in 2010, he has vowed to vote against more government spending. He will vote no and will do so every time the Washington Machine tries to implement a big-spending Continuing Resolution with zero scrutiny, zero cuts, zero accountability and more debt.

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio use Planned Parenthood to drum up political support (but don’t actually propose any bills) and then vote for $400 billion in spending and debt increases.

Rand Paul is the opposite: he actually did propose a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, but strongly opposed $400 billion in spending and debt increases.

The Stock Markets Of The 10 Largest Global Economies Are All Crashing

You would think that the simultaneous crashing of all of the largest stock markets around the world would be very big news.  But so far the mainstream media in the United States is treating it like it isn’t really a big deal.

Over the last sixty days, we have witnessed the most significant global stock market decline since the fall of 2008, and yet most people still seem to think that this is just a temporary “bump in the road” and that the bull market will soon resume.  Hopefully they are right.

When the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted 777 points on September 29th, 2008 everyone freaked out and rightly so.  But a stock market crash doesn’t have to be limited to a single day.  Since the peak of the market earlier this year, the Dow is down almost three times as much as that 777 point crash back in 2008.  Over the last sixty days, we have seen the 8th largest single day stock market crash in U.S. history on a point basis and the 10th largest single day stock market crash in U.S. history on a point basis.  You would think that this would be enough to wake people up, but most Americans still don’t seem very alarmed.  And of course what has happened to U.S. stocks so far is quite mild compared to what has been going on in the rest of the world.

Right now, stock market wealth is being wiped out all over the planet, and none of the largest global economies have been exempt from this.  The following is a summary of what we have seen in recent days…

Boehner Is Out: What This Means For Government Shutdown Odds And The Debt-Ceiling Fight

In the aftermath of John Boehner's surprising resignation announcement, the punditry has been scrambling to opine what this departure means for the odds of a government shut down, some saying the likelihood has increased, while others, such as Goldman, confident shutdown odds are materially reduced. The truth is likely in the middle, and while the odds of a government shutdown next week are reduced as a Continuing Resolution now appears more feasible, the probability of a broader shutdown in December once the CR expires, have materially risen.

But while a government shutdown would be good news for those who claim (correctly) that the US government has not done anything in the past 7 years punting all decisions to the Fed instead, what's is much more problematic is that the US Treasury will need an increase in the debt target ceiling in November as shown previously, before any continuing resolution is expected to expire.

The upcoming power struggle in the GOP will make any successful and sustainable kick in the US debt limit very tough, especially when one realizes that as a result of accrud debt layering, the real US debt is, as of this moment, about $18.5 trillion - about $400 billion above the statutory debt limit of $18.1 trillion. It also means that in order to kick the can solidly for the next 2 years, the next debt ceiling will have to be just about $20 trillion. There will be quite a substantial shock among the right after realizing this unpleasant development.

Pope’s call for immigration leniency unlikely to change debate

Vatican has most restrictive immigration policy

Pope Francis is more than head of the Catholic Church — he’s also the head of state of the Vatican, which as a government has possibly the most restrictive immigration and citizenship policies of any nation in the world.

The pope, traveling to the U.S. for the first time, has made a special appeal to Americans to welcome immigrants, using his address to a joint meeting of Congress Thursday to invoke the Golden Rule in demanding generosity toward the millions of Central and South Americans seeking to come to the country.
