Looks like a good service, but it may not be a good fit for us. Anyone can run a regular "node" by just running the wallet. It also helps to have a static ip so that we can add it to the config file and the node is automatically found by other wallets. The full time nodes that we have now are windows vps that have a decent amount of resources available to them on the fly. The nodes have wallets installed and open 24/7 that help support the network. We are also using these nodes as tor relays and as entry points for the wallet's anonymous features. We are currently paying roughly $500 a year to maintain the coin not including any dev or exchange fees. That's domain, web hosting, node rentals, and backend collaboration tools. ..xbc... ...xbc... xbc xbc xbc .xbc. xvc It would probably be better if staked coins being sold for maintainance were at a set price because dumping them off to anyone at a low price will only make the price depreciate further and without sufficient buy support at a fixed price that is exactly what will happen so maybe off market sale by auction or whatever to community members who have staking wallets and not speculators who only will manipulate the price?I am no economist but ...it makes sense to protect the coin and the community's welfare.We should also look at reducing the interest rate to match realistic ideal inflation rates.10% is ok while the coin is in its early stages but rate should be set at around 3% when it is seasoned but thats the community's decision of course. |

Below is the response to our request to get a listing with 1Ex.Trade.We would need a core developer for the vetting process.As our agreement with ale has been cancelled and our other wallet developer is not contracted as a core developer we cannot satisfy the criteria but I will contact crypto capital and see what their terms are.I do like the look of what I am seeing here with regards their longterm vision and outlook with regards digital currencies and blockchain technology.

How does one put themselves up as a full node ?
I think its just a matter of adding a your ip to the node list in the .conf file but not 100% sure if it needs to be a static dedicated one etc. |

Yes. Prohashing.com will be setting up a mining pool for us soon. They were given a copy of the source earlier this week. I am hoping for them to have it setup within the next couple of weeks hopefully.

Seems to be lots of interest alright as this thread gets hit by lurkers many times per day but not too many take the time to vote or post anything.Maybe we need to get grounbeeftaxi back with a few of those titty adverts to jazz things up a bit.On the plus side though there are no technical issues and xbc is happily staking away as usual.Price has improved too so happy days. |

I think you can use command line prompt bitcoinplus-qt-irc=1Is that the same way to start -rescan/-reindex?Sometimes that has no effect for me though. Yeah you can create a shortcut renamed bitcoinplus-qt-irc=1 or bitcoinplus-qt-rescan bitcoinplus-qt-reindex etc etc etc and it should open whatever command you want |

After some days my DOGE coins have arrived but then I sold them for Bitcoin, initiated a withdrawal but it's still pending for at least 3 days. I grabbed my "pen" and wrote another message to the support but of course there is no response and no change in the situation. I will come back with a new post if I get my coins finally. But anyway this was the last time I used this exchange...
We eventually got a response from askcoin requesting the updated source code for our wallet but it took a long time and a lot of messaging to get that response.I hope they carry out the update because they are still on the old chain. |

I think this exchange is dead. Apart from the fact that they are tweeting continuously about the market prices there is nothing happening there.
I deposited some thousands of DOGEcoin to my account but it has never arrived and of course the support hasn't reacted to my mail...
(Some months ago I used this service, it's a pity I haven't checked its reputation here...)

I think he sent something across to jjmv but not 100%.On another note a community member has pm'd us to say our transaction speed is now lightning fast. Good to hear something is working fast at least cos my internet speed is about 10 KB/s max.Took like 15 minutes to open my email this morning. |
