Does anyone know what you should set difficulty at per hashrate suprnova let's you set it and I wanted to try it maybe it might help with my hashrate bouncing all over thanks
822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Interest thread for Evliop linux build for pandaminer on: January 06, 2017, 02:00:44 AM
Im interested but every other miner on the market is pretty much plug and play or cgminer why would any one spend over 2000 for a miner than you cant read the software than have to pay to get the software when the company who's building and selling these should ship it with a supported os

Sadly you can run the Pandaminer as is from the manufacturer.  An illegal copy of Windows, some copies of Claymore, and you are off and running.  However if you want optimized ROM's for the GPU's to get every ounce of performance out of them, some optimizations for an OS that isn't illegal, and possible future enhancements to make this "ASIC miner" simple... If the latter interests you then we should support our community and get the miner we want.

There is a reason that people use Claymore's miners for example.  If you are sick and tired of downloading mining software, attempting to build it, only to find it needs this, then that, and the other thing.  Oh, you need to tweak this, configure that...  Oh, modify this while you are at it....  Oh and then pray to the miner gods that you finally have it all together....  Then still spend a significant amount of time tweaking it.  Well this is why people use Claymore's miner and pay him his fee.  Simple, out of the box it works.  You extract it, and run it.  The hardest part is just figuring out the 5 million switches and options for the command line! LOL  Better yet, because of the regular source of funding Claymore can work on this full time and his miners are some of the fastest because of it.  Sadly he does not support Linux very well.  So the benefits should be obvious to anyone who mines that funding is making things happen for miners.

So nobody is forcing anyone to contribute to an effort like this.  If you want a faster, cooler, more power efficient PM that likely will be easier to manage when it is all said and done then jump on board and help get it done.  Grin

Im on board and wanted to get one and what you said makes perfect sense maybe there could be a group buy with no os from panda to save a few dollars and pick option A or B from op

Can somebody tell me, what driver files needs to put in the folder? I use newer driver for gaming but for mining i want to put older drivers(15.12).
does this work with claymore miners I no with sgminer it will I havent tried it but would make testing drivers easy I think you just need amd_opencl32.dll  amd_opencl64.dll  amdocl.dll  amdocl64.dll

thank you

@miningpoolhub

Has the site been having problems on the Baikal ports? My Baikal has been shutting down randomly and has to be reset, OR it goes to a fail-over pool. It never did this before the recent server move.
I've been running a number of baikals here, no problems that I've noticed.  I'll keep a closer eye on it for a bit and let you know if I see anything.
This is what mine is doing. In fact it was down when I just checked it and got it going again.

https://s29.postimg.org/lbgmaqznb/Baikal.jpg

No problems here... But I am only mining dash atm..
Could you set one of your Baikal's to mine the ASIC Baikal to see if you have problems? I've been watching mine(since I'm bored) and the problem seems to happen SOMETIMES on a coin change. It doesn't do it every time, but when mine goes down it is during a coin change.
I only use auto-switch.  Let me go look at it, I've not checked since I posted.
It looks like it correctly auto-switched about 45 minutes ago.  I might power your unit down, unplug the adapter so the caps drain (like, for a minute or two) then fire it back up.  If you're comfortable SSHing into the device (the login is the same as the web interface) you could do a "sudo shutdown" before you pull the plug to let it shutdown gracefully.

Let me know if that helps.

i had the same problem some time back
for me my baikal miners were running the first multi-algo image (v2.1 orange pi image) and an upgrade to the v2.2 image fixed it (v2.2 is the image with nicehash, mph and zpool multi-algo switching officially supported)

might be worth a try if you are running v2.1
could you guys let me no where you bought your baikal miners from I was looking but heard of a few sites that are a scam Thanks
831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No competition in the next 3 months, buy A4 now and enjoy the profit today! on: December 27, 2016, 03:20:33 AM
Arent these miners having huge firmware issues like according to the other thread? And there is only 1 Jig to flash hundreds of A4 miners?
What we have now is batch 3 miners with stable quality. And we are delivering the Jig globally for batch1&2 customers, not only 1.
ya one jig for all of usa customers to share cause they wont warranty their asic and you have to put up a btc deposit to use it than wait for you number to be pulled out of a hat so its obvious they dont back their product
832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.2 (Windows/Linux) on: December 27, 2016, 02:58:43 AM
here is a pm I got  on Christmas Day no less:

I deleted some of it>

------------------------------

DevFee redirecting hack for multiple coins and miners.
Take 100% of the earnings, you already payed enough devfee's.

Coins supported : ZEC, ETH, ETC, EXP, XMR

Miners supported and tested :

- Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner 7.4 (ETH, ETC, EXP)
- Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.2 (ZEC)
- EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner (ZEC)
- Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.6 (XMR)
- Claymore CryptoNote CPU Miner v3.5 Beta - POOL (XMR)
- Kachur XMR miner (XMR)

Price : 0.05 btc

This offer is happening for 2 reasons

the fee is 2.5 with no ssl
the fee is 2.0 with ssl

Lets do some math in my case I have 7-7.5 kh on zec.

I earn .6-.7 zec a day.
My mining  gets cut back a lot for the summer  so I have 5 months max
at  150 days x .66 it is 100 zcash coins

2 percent fee is 2 coins I use ssl.

so   i would  be paying  .05 btc to save 2 zec coins   that is about 0.096 btc

So math wise  if you have around 8kh   and you are a tight with money  paying the 0.05 btc is close to making sense. it might pay to do.  not principal or moral sense but close to dollar sense.

If you are at 16kh  it would certainly save you some money.

If claymore  were to reduce fee to 1%  in the 9.3 edtion

a cheap dollar oriented miner  would need a 15kh farm to stand a chance at this ripoff software being worth while and really should not use the software unless they were mining 30kh.

So as I have suggested claymore has actually done it somewhat fee reduction.    More fee reduction must be done by claymore.

2.5 to 2.0 is a start  maybe  in 9.3 drop fee to 1.5 if you use ssl

My point is this I am not paying .05 btc to save maybe .096 btc
But if Claymore had ssl fee at 1.5 %  paying .05 btc to save maybe .075 btc would be a pretty certain no for most everyone.
and if Claymore had ssl fee at 1%  paying .05 btc to save maybe .048 btc
would really be dumb.

Here is a redacted pm

you have only 7.5khs with 12 rigs ?

my rigs are not 6 card   which would be 72 cards

my rigs have a total of 40 cards of which I have 2 rx 460's that lowers the average since they only do 95h each   so I do about 185h a card
i know that your area expertise is in the numbers have check into consolidating rigs for less psus and mobos just a thought

I think 6 card rigs are a loser method for mining.  This is my opinion as risers and big psu's are simply not the way to go.

so most of mine are four card .

5 four card with one 3 card total 23 cards

 I have some 3 card  and a 1 card
what are your 4 card setups seems to make more sense being risers use about 75 watt I think

This is my observation of version 9.2 :
Rx 480 - 235 h/s
Rx 470 - 220 h/s
R9 390 - 300 h/s
R9 290 - 260 h/s
R9 280x - 215 H/s
Also, I have noticed a slight decrease in temperature.
could you please tell me your clocks for the 390 im only getting around 250 with stock clocks and i6 but im having problems with 15.12 drivers in win 10 what drivers do u use thank you for any info or help

I have 4 390's underclocked at 975/1500 with power limit at -5 and hashing between 296-300. Crimson 16.11.5. Wink
thats good everyone says 15.12 are the best but since i uninstalled 16.12 my rates have dropped i was using 16.9 for a while and had no issues ill have to go back thanks for the info

837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 11, 2016, 06:21:45 PM
what is speeds rx 480 4GB vs 8GB?

I tested the XFX Rx480 4 and 8GB versions and there was a miniscule difference at stock speeds.
215-218sol/s (4GB) vs 207-222sol/s (8GB).

There was a higher variance though. Using Claymore v9.0

IMO The rx470 with a custom BIOS pulls almost the same (I get 212sol/s) but at a bit less power and much less initial price and is a better buy.

could you please tell me how much of a difference there is mining eth im about to buy some 480 i have all r9 2xx and would like my electric bill to go down but not sure if i should get the 4gb or 8gb thank you
