linux pro ,please help how to auto star silenarmyminer by login  on ubuntu 16.04 ,i use teamview to control and i want auto star by system login when restar

edit your rc.local file and add the following command
Code:
tmux new-session -d -s miner 'cd <path to zcashclient folder>; ./zcashgpuclient_silentarmy'

(use "sudo nano /etc/rc.local" to edit your file if you didnt know)

and to connect to that tmux windows use
Code:
sudo tmux a

This dude poses a great question.  I know windows inside & out & sideways but not ubuntu much at all.  So lets say the folder is in my home area is this syntax correct?  Also will this auto launch on boot and leave terminal window up?

tmux new-session -d -s miner cd /home/miner01/zcashclient-0.2.4/./zcashgpuclient_silentarmy
822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ubuntu 16 noob question sorry in advance on: November 02, 2016, 11:35:03 PM
So i am very new to Ubuntu.  I have it running files in and I am mining.  I even loaded vnc and have it loading automatically on reboot.  Here is what i need to do and just cant figure out how.

How do I auto reboot Ubuntu lets say every 30 min and have it launch the miner again automatically?

I'd like it to launch the terminal so it can be seen and go to the directory and launch the miner.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid question.

I think accusations at this point need to be put on hold. All pools are having issues atm, especially with payouts, so I think it's safe to say, give this guy a shot. He has done a great a job and I admire his effort. Please be patient.

.....If it does end up being "a scam," whatever, it was 1-2 days. Life goes on.

Agreed, yes its a very crappy start and a unstable pool at best but it does work and he is not a scammer.  There is another pool that resets every 20 min to minimize crashes i hear that might be something to implement?

I have had about 10 payments already.  they are now coming in steady.  Went about 14 hours before i got one but all good now.  To my poloniex wallet t1XfT4Q7c7H7wQ8R1ZnaHcifJMBNATEwq81.

I have finally managed to make my miner actually mine, apparently it was a driver problem+risers problem.

Now I have disabled 2 cards with bad risers, while I wait for the new ones to come, and I have installed the minimal version of the crimson 16.7.3, which looks like working pretty well on Win10.

So thanks to anyone that previously helped.

I am now doing some tests for solo mining on different, and since about 5 hours I am mining on nanopool, but I can not see any stats update on their website, is that normal?

Claymore 7.1 looks like is running smooth and finding a decent amount of shares, but I can not see anything on the nanopool website.

The only doubt that I have is that I am using an old address, but that was generated from the same wallet anyway, can that be the problem?

loosen your riser cards as they may be grounding out on the rails.  I have used 300+ risers and have had maybe 3-4 bad ones.  Normally its a grounding issue.  Swap them with known working ones on your system and they will prob work.

@Claymore, what is the highest possible value for -ethi?

Anyone using values higher than 8? Any real improvement?

I've been mining with -ethi 16 and my rigs are very stable.

However, if I use -ethi 8 my ETH hashrate stays pretty much the same and my power consumption slightly decreases.

Anyone care to share experiences with the -ethi values?

PS: Running 480s  Grin

I think default is 8 or 9 and yeah it drops power with little to no effect on hash.  I just erased the -ethi line on my 17 miners once i noticed that and have been running that way for months.

You can check profitability here:
http://whattomine.com/merged_coins/7-eth-lbc

But hqve on mind lbc price varies very much
cannot open the link
can you say, how much hashes gives one rx480?

depends on the 480

I bought a asus 4gb 480 and that turd does 22 mhash

I have a red devil 8gb 480 and it runs 25 mhash

A 470 will do 22 well the red devil ones

Is it still profitable to dual mine sia and eth? My electric bill was 1100 last month and I'm really nervous about this months. I may go back to just eth and under volt some. Whats your opinion on this currently!!

Still more profitable to mine both.

So if your polo wallet is first then   Polo wallet . (acct number) . 1   = what is or where can you get an account number.  Is that they key you generate when you download the monero file from their site?

Most pools don't let you mine straight to exchange address, monero.crypto-pool.fr being one of them.

Dwarfpool mining to polo:

-u deposit address(from polo).payment id(from polo) -p x

Minimum payout is 5 xmr, with 6x480 it takes about week to get there. I would just use mymonero to create new address and use that for mining, works in every pool and you get faster payouts.

Thanks man I was looking at the payment id in polo and thought it was my wallet so i was going nuts.  I appreciate the help there.  I have 14 x 390 6 card rigs and 2 480 rigs I might point all to monero. Tongue

I would spread that hash evenly to different pools for a couple of days and see who comes out as a winner.

Use different accounts for every pool, makes it is pretty easy to monitor.

Good advice!  Thanks!

Trying to redirect one of my RX480 ETH rigs to test out XMR hashrates.

NsGpuCNMiner -o stratum+tcp://monero.crypto-pool.fr:3333 -u POLOWALLETADRESS.PAYMENTID.RIGNUMBER -p x

gives me:
Error in server response
: {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-1,"message":"invalidaddressorusernameusedforlogin"}}

Anyone ?

I mine at Dwarfpool with a Polo address.

The worker name can only be a NUMBER.

So <Polo XMR Address>.<Your account number>.1

Seems weird this but this works in Dwarfpool.

I suspect its a pool requirement, maybe you can try same thing with your French pool.

So if your polo wallet is first then   Polo wallet . (acct number) . 1   = what is or where can you get an account number.  Is that they key you generate when you download the monero file from their site?

Ok so I have never mined anything but ETH + Whatever bonus coin

I looked around and I just cant find (to be honest i got frustrated after 30 pages of nothing) how to mine monero.

I know you have to create a wallet - I went to monero site downloaded software and it generated a wallet.

I know the add you get on poloniex is not that but its wallet.poloniexadd.01 01 = miner number right?

I guess my question is, what exactly do you need to have on the miner other than claymores files?  Does anything else need to be open anywhere else too?

Thanks and sorry for the stupid questions, brand new to monero.

I'm trying to mine on dwarfpool

Oh and miner is 6 x 480 AMD 4G
Windows 10

About low hashrates in dual mode - it seems I need to combine some of my messages into one and add some more comments about ETH+LBC mode.

1. AMD cards always handle dual mode better than NVidia. Especially 290(X)/390(X) cards, they are the best. RX480 is good too. Other cards are not so good in dual mode.
2. Lbry is not so good for dual mode as Sia or Decred, it takes too much GPU time, therefore ETH suffers. So only powerful cards are good in ETH+LBC mode. Do not use it on 280, 270, 7xxx, etc. On these cards ETH+DCR or ETH+SIA is better.
3. My test rig: 6x390, stock clocks, gives 172MH/s ETH in ETH-only mode.
In ETH+LBC mode, "-dcri 16", it gives 167MH/s ETH + 167MH/s LBC.
If you have 290/390 cards and see big drop on ETH even on "-dcri 16", make sure you use 15.12 drivers.
So I see -5MH/s ETH but +167MH/S Lbry, i.e. dual mining is working. Unfortunately, there is no way to get 0% drop on ETH if you mine ETH+LBC. Why? See item #2.
4. Why I added ETH+LBC if it causes ETH hashrate drop? Because this mode is good anyway for fast cards like 290/390/480, you get small ETH drop but good LBC speed.
5. Why I added ETH+LBC if ETH+LBC has less profit than LBC-only mining? Because in future ETH+LBC can have more profit than LBC-only.

Getting exactly what you are Claymore on my 390 sets.  167 167 with DCRI at 16

ETH+Lbry totally kills my hashrate on R9 390. down from 31MH to around 25.

Same so went back to sia

How much watts the r9 390x consumed?

My 6 Card 390s pull 1950-2K watts at the plug.

I just got in 6 x MSI 480 Gaming X 8 GB Cards.  Quickly installed them and newest drivers 16.8.2 and show:

ETH / SIA or DCR -  24.5mh and 370 SIA/DCR on default intensity and 1300 Watts at the plug.

ETH / SOLO - 24.5 1170 Watts at plug

What setting do you use on your 480 to undervolt those to a stable undervolt?  Like I said I just got them so don't know how they will react =)

Thanks!
Depends on card, I have 2 Sapphire 470s (4GB and 8GB), and they are both stable at 0.955v.  To get under 1v, I also have to lower memory voltage.  I have an Power Color Red Devil 470, it is more around 0.97, it varies between 0.97 and 1.0v, I have it set at 1.03v, I guess they handle the voltage differently.  So it depends on card.  480 would probably be similar.  So I would start at around 1.03v, and see from their, when computer locks up, add about 30mv and test for stability, press s while mining to check for incorrect shares.  Also I use ~40-60 DCRI, maybe higher for a 480, my first one I just ordered so I don't know yet.  I get 24.3/450 with sia, and dcri 38 on a 470.  I get about 160-170W at the wall per card.

Do you undervolt off of the bat file?  If so would you mind sharing what you write in there?  Thanks!

Claymore,

When the failover kicks in does it revert back to the primary right after?  The reason I ask is that I have a private dwarfpool address and when the miners spin up the ethman app sees the correct address but if I come back an hour later or so they almost all are changed to failovers.  Not sure if I am loosing my mind or not hehe.

EDIT:
I just looked again and they all went back to my private address after awhile.  I guess there is some sort of revert timer?
839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred/Siacoin GPU Miner v5.1 (Windows/Linux) on: July 17, 2016, 01:37:55 PM
use -dcri 40 on the 390 you should get around 600 SIA. and no loss in etherum hashrate.

-dcri 64 works best on the Nanos 700-800MHASH SIA. and lo loss in etherum hashrate.

If i do dcri 40 i loose about 3 mh per rig so x 12 = 36 mhs of course i have not ran the calculations and it might be worth doing if there is no gain in wattage.  I need to bust out the kilo-watt meter and check i guess.

I run all 390 units 6 card rigs with dual 1300 watt ps.

You really don't loose anything?  If so can you tell me what your config file looks like?  Thanks!

want to know if you get lower then 30mhs i'm on windows 7 atm

I get 30 Mh I have 2 x 6 card 390's on windows 10.  Works like a champ.
