its just hot air.  Solder takes a ton more to melt than that
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate drops when gaming and mining same time normal? on: October 15, 2017, 07:12:34 PM
lol yeah gaming taxes the video card so that's expected.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BTU Output of L3+ AntMiner on: October 15, 2017, 07:01:28 PM
800 x 10 = 8000 watts x 3.41 = 27,280 BTU / 12000 = 2.3 Tons of air if you want to cool it.

it happens.  I have sent some back because of the fan speed clock whatever error.  Some cards are just bad.  Although I do replace the risers on trouble cards before claiming they are bad since risers are like 5 bucks.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BTU Output of L3+ AntMiner on: October 15, 2017, 05:54:25 PM
how many watts?  watts x 3.41 = BTU output
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser issues on: October 15, 2017, 02:29:31 PM
powered or not powered risers?
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining still profitable? on: October 14, 2017, 10:46:09 PM
if you take the time to browse that question is asked daily by noobs.  Just research for god's sake.  Yes is the answer.

570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Electrical Fire! on: October 13, 2017, 10:47:46 AM
Splices are always the weak point.  You say it should handle it but I am here to tell you whoever did that and did not use lugs to hold down that splice is an idiot.  anything over 50-60 amps should have it.  It is the safest way to make a splice.

Also if it was a weak splice the looser it becomes the more resistance thus higher amperage at that location until....boom.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: October 13, 2017, 01:12:18 AM
all my sapphires AMD and actually EVGA 1070 are doing that.  I think its the thermal paste breaking down.  I tested the oil, its non conductive.  It's weird but dont really mess with the workings of the cards.  390's did it too back in the day.

573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser sata cable burned! on: October 11, 2017, 11:39:42 PM
I won't parrot what everyone's already said in here to increase their post count, but I'll just add that you should be careful to buy the sata cable from the same brand as your PSU. More often then not, the cables are not interchangeable between brands. They must be using a different plug/socket design just to force users to buy aftermarket cables from them too...

Yeah, and EVGA psus come with x4 in one molex cables. Been running them for months, no issues *yet* <runs off to check rigs>....

HMM...  All I use is EVGA 1300 and the molex is
2 cables with 3 molex connections
4 (maybe 3) Sata with 3 Sata connections
6 PCIE connections with 4 being single 6+2 and 2 of them being 6+2 and 6

575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: D3 or L3+ for mining into 2018 on: October 11, 2017, 12:07:31 PM
if you have not received your asics yet, then your ROI is awhile.  For sure if you can get first batch go for it!  not 3rd + batches as its now whored out.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser sata cable burned! on: October 11, 2017, 12:05:42 PM
Yep no more that 2 risers per cable.  Everyone here has probably learned the hard way...
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 14 days of Mining with the Antminer D3 and x11 mining pool comparison on: October 10, 2017, 04:26:35 PM

579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: small test rig before spending 300k on: October 10, 2017, 03:01:17 PM
I think you are better off buying 1070's for mining Eth and Zcash etc.  IMO 1080 Ti are just too pricy.  I have 50-60 1070 6 card rigs and over a 100 others RX, 1060 etc.  IMO 1070 is best bang for the buck.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will we use the "blockchain driver beta shit" forever? on: October 10, 2017, 10:07:18 AM
Had the same problem, but Claymore's miner v10.0 solved it, using -cvddc.

Greetings

what did you add?  I run 10 but still see issue on a few machines
