This has fixed a lot of the latency issues we were experiencing with the early firmware and what held up production on some of the 60 GH/s units.

Finally, some good news. The return of the 60 GH/s. Would somebody be so kind as to point out which one of the units depicted on this page is said unit?: https://products.butterflylabs.com/

Thought not. I contend that Josh has officially lost his fuckin' mind. How could the guy in charge of production not be aware that the 60 GH/s miner has been discontinued?

Maybe it was a typo.

Quote
With the current firmware, we are seeing between 260w to 280w per 60 GH/s unit, or 4.3w - 4.6w per GH at the wall on 120v.

Twice!

Also, for only $43,000, one can get a 1000 GH/s, of which is only a $13,000 increase from the last time I saw the unit priced. Maybe that's to cover the FCC certification fees.

Or maybe it's to buy a tombstone for Sonny K.'s grave.

Or maybe it's to help cover the 1000 BTC guarantee that HE owes (not the BFL one).

The rare times I get it, I eat burnt toast. You can even dip it in coffee to add flavor. Probably no butter. It worked for me each time.

The video mentions that it is a felony in California for a business to raise money without registering with the SEC. So are all Bitcoin stocks illegal in California? Huh

I had the same thought. Especially now since fincen considers bitcoin a 'virtual currency'.

Bitcoin is not considered money by the state of California (at least in regard to money transmission):

Quote
2003 (n) "Money" means a medium of exchange that is authorized or
adopted by the United States or a foreign government. The term
includes a monetary unit of account established by an
intergovernmental organization or by agreement between two or more
governments.

I wonder how California will feel about a Condom Exchange.

Only 21M Condoms will ever be allowed to be exchanged. Currently, 10 Cm = $1.04 on the black market (or OTC).

I thought Bitcoin100 was a good idea but you've really cum a long way with your ideas now Bruno. lol

Are you trying to infect this thread with a Trojan?

Without Googling it, I recall a yoke separator.

That looks pretty easy.  But I will still use the way I was taught - which is easier.  Crack the shell in half, then slowly pour the egg white out over the edge of the shell keeping the yolk in the shell using the other shell half.  Pass the yolk back and forth between the two shell halves a few times as you let the rest of the egg white run out.  Sorry I don't have a video, but it really is quite simple.

I guess that would work, too, but now that I've seen the bottle trick, I no longer have to resort to the suck-and-spit way unless, of course, there's nary a bottle handy.

Surf through the ARCHIVE.ORG

I was joking about there being a search option available on archive.org.

Does anybody here know of one or a trick dissimilar to how I hunt it?

Hi Bruno,

I only just now saw the great work you've been doing with Bitcoin 100. Amazing. I have an idea for a great charity that might provide a lot of press coverage in the Netherlands for Bitcoin and Bitcoin 100. Every year, a big radio and television station work together with the Red Cross to collect money for a noble but 'forgotten' cause. Three DJ's live in a glass house on a marketsquare for 6 days and encourage people to bring in money with their own actions.

It is by far the biggest collective action we have in the Netherlands and it's already spread to Belgium, Sweden and Switzerland. It's amazing how many people are moved to help. Last year €12.2 million euro's were collected to help prevent infant death. That's quite a lot for a country with only 16 million people.. Over 75 percent of all Dutchmen watch or listen to the program. Wouldn't it be great to ask them to accept Bitcoin?

This year it's about people dying from diarrhea. The action starts at the end of the year but donating via their website is possible the whole year. I think it would very much contribute to the credibility of Bitcoin as a legitimate currency in the Netherlands if it'd be an option to give in that way. The press coverage here is increasing but getting a big player like Serious Request to use Bitcoin might increase the awareness a great deal. Hopefully they're willing to consider it.

If you want, I can help by translating any e-mails you'd like to send them or providing you with information. The website (in Dutch): http://seriousrequest.3fm.nl/. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks and good luck with Bitcoin 100, the work you do is greatly appreciated.

Arne

I confirm that the above was sent to me first and informed its author to forward the PM to Rassah and edd.

Maybe BFL will donate a Little Single to have auctioned off. Now that would be exposure! (not meant as a double entendre)

With the reach them DJs have, it would be great to have a Bitcoin donation button affixed on their site for all to see.

I'm pretty sure there's a neat glass house analogy that'll help forward the cause.

Legit? If so you changed my life.

Same here! No more sucking them out, then spitting them into a separate bowl. Accidentally swallowed one last time. This approach will make the task so much easier.

I thought I read something positive about instawallet recently. Does it look like you have a chance to get your money back?

Yes, there is a chance!

I feel sorry for the doctors that are caring for him. Imagine the pressure of trying to repeatedly heal an elderly global icon, especially when he keeps slipping into critical condition.

I feel sorry for the doctor that has to administer a pap smear to Zsa Zsa.
8279  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recieved 50GH BFL Single Today! on: June 24, 2013, 04:11:11 AM

As I've said before, and will say again, BFL is not operating in a scammy fashion. It would be far too unprofitable a scam to run things the way they have. They are however operating in a fashion that shows poor project and PR management. Heck, Avalon put precious little out in public information releases, including actual delivery dates, yet there are plenty of people who praise them yet rubbish BFL, which puts out plenty of information. The key difference is the information being put out is not what you want to see. You get angry because the news is bad, and blame like no tomorrow about it.

The information I want to see:
Who works at BFL? Most startups & companies tell you who is running it so you can check for yourself if they have the skill to succeed. With BFL we just get first names.
Who are BFL's investors? BFL claimed they have a Venture Capital firm backing them, but won't say from which VC firm. Highly unusual.
Who are BFL's suppliers? Companies usually (in tech especially) make their large suppliers & partnerships known.  BFL has not said who did the chip design for them or who is making their chips for them.
BFL does not discuss that sort of thing.

If you have the answers to these questions, by all means share them or point them out if they have already been shared.
Until BFL starts acting like a real company, one always has to worry "Will they be there tomorrow?"

Sonny K. disappeared when Sonny Vleisides appeared onto the seen. I firmly believe something nefarious happened to him. The last person to make mention of him was Josh, but Josh has yet to explain what ever became of Sonny K. I wonder if he had a family.

I may have to call the KC PD to go check it out. Clearly, a Sonny K. was employed by BFL, probably even one of the owners, according to Josh's posts.
