I think cloud mining is not profitable and there are many scams around them, giga is the future.
Many cloud miners look like scam - you hardly get ROI withing a year or two.  Some are quite fair, like HashFlare - I personally use it, with ROI in 3-5 months on different coins. I think you need to ivestigate who is behind those cloud minings, and read reviews, on bitcointalk in particular.  Hasflare is, for example, is run by HashCoins company who is dealing with cryptographic hardware for many years.  Alternatevely Genesis mining who advertises itself a lot, gives very poor ROI, and you can find a lot of complains about this.
Thanks alot, i will check hasflare in neat future.
Good advice bro
Nevetheless it is less profitable than giga-watt,  but for giga-watt you need to buy tokens first, here is the difference.  But  with giga-watt tokens you can mine with very cheap electricity (0.033c/kW, not 0.1c/kW).

( If you decide to try hashflare you can use my reference in signature:)  )

https://etherdelta.github.io/#WTT-ETH

Sell total 4758 WTT
price is  0.0055ETH/WTT
about 1.7$ per token
do you mean that you want to sell at $1.7 ?

hi all, I'd like to buy around 5k tokens, please PM if you are interested  Smiley
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡⛏️[ANN] Giga Watt: Best Home for your Mining. Starts today! on: August 17, 2017, 07:59:23 PM

Is it the best strategy here is to rent our tokens so that we can get a daily profit from it? Getting a daily profit would be the best tactics here right since we can reinvest it and rent it out to make our daily profit much higher.
It depends on how  much money you have.  I personally can buy now, but if no success I will be renting.

In fact renting may be even better, because you will spend not much money, but just small amount evenly each month.

Regarding WTT token renting and selling.. We do not have anything to do with WTT token exchanges after purchase. There are four batches of tokens being released to their buyers (2nd batch just got distributed). The tokens will trade on exchanges once all token distribution is completed which will be late 2017.
Is it possible to transfer tokens from one account to another, in case both accounts wish to do this, and will ask you about this?

https://giga-watt.com/dashboard

you create an account here, you'll get an address to receive WTT tokens in your dash, whoever buys my 3000 tokens which are still currently for sale I will simply send them to their giga-watt address
this is great, i did not realize this  Shocked     I already have account,  waiting for my tokens to be issued on Sep,1st batch.

And I'd like to buy some more tokens ,  you didn't answer my previous question about price Smiley   Let's discuss this in PM again?

guys still want to sell my tokens, 3000 WTT, they are from the 3rd batch, would prefer to sell as a lot, but if 3 people came togther to take all 3000 I would be open to that too
what price are you looking for, and how are you going to manage transferring tokens?  Did you consult with giga-watt support about this maybe?

Can someone please explain to me how the $734.55 mining cost of 1 BTC for WTT holders is calculated.

To currently mine 1BTC for 1 day you need 3673TH/s or 272 S9 miners.
For 24 hours they will use 8636.5kW, which is 285USD paying the 0.033USD electricity rate.

So I guess the difference comes from the price you need to pay for the hosting tokens, but how is that calculated?

Cheers

You should account the miners' price as well. 272 s9s cost about 460k.   If we assume miners' lifecycle to be 2,5 years, after which 460k will be lost, which would mean $500 per day (460k/912 days).   285+500 = 785$.

(this is just my assumption)

What will happen to the last batch toKens? That one did not fully invested.

You have to wait depending of the batch you purchase your tokens, log in to criptonomos account and click in WTT, there are the dates
Yes, but what about the batch that fails to gather enough investment?
there is no need for them to build it, i assume.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡⛏️[ANN] Giga Watt: Best Home for your Mining. Starts today! on: August 09, 2017, 03:11:08 PM
After you've signed up on Giga-Watt.com log in and go to your dashboard show here.

The plus button is the receive function and the minus button is the send function. Click the receive function  and your personal WTT wallet will show up with your own address. There is a copy on to clipboard feature as well.

Log on to your Cryptonomos.com account that you already have from the token sale. Click WTT on your dashboard and click Send. This is where you enter your own address from the Giga-Watt dash board. You should try to send a small amount first to test things out.

Good luck mining/hosting.

why i can not click send
I think this is because your tokens are not issued yet.  They are issued in batches, depending on when you bought them.

2)

Crypto is considered legal tender in multiple countries. If you blindly spread informations stating its not considered money, people without knowledge will read that and get tanked....  So please try to at least structure it in a way ppl see you are talking about america.

"virtual currency is not the legal tender of any particular country" - says Professor of Law at Louisiana State University:
https://www.bna.com/taxation-virtual-currency-n73014449855/

Here are a few paragraphs from IRS  FAQs:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q-1: How is virtual currency treated for federal tax purposes?
A-1: For federal tax purposes, virtual currency is treated as property. General tax
principles applicable to property transactions apply to transactions using virtual
currency.

Q-2. Is virtual currency treated as currency for purposes of determining whether
a transaction results in foreign currency gain or loss under U.S. federal tax laws?
A-2: No. Under currently applicable law, virtual currency is not treated as currency that
could generate foreign currency gain or loss for U.S. federal tax purposes.

Q-6: Does a taxpayer have gain or loss upon an exchange of virtual currency for
other property?
A-6: Yes. If the fair market value of property received in exchange for virtual currency
exceeds the taxpayer’s adjusted basis of the virtual currency, the taxpayer has taxable
gain. The taxpayer has a loss if the fair market value of the property received is less
than the adjusted basis of the virtual currency.

Q-7: What type of gain or loss does a taxpayer realize on the sale or exchange of
virtual currency?
A-7: The character of the gain or loss generally depends on whether the virtual
currency is a capital asset in the hands of the taxpayer. A taxpayer generally realizes
capital gain or loss on the sale or exchange of virtual currency that is a capital asset in
the hands of the taxpayer. For example, stocks, bonds, and other investment property
are generally capital assets. A taxpayer generally realizes ordinary gain or loss on the
sale or exchange of virtual currency that is not a capital asset in the hands of the
taxpayer. Inventory and other property held mainly for sale to customers in a trade or
business are examples of property that is not a capital asset.

Q-8: Does a taxpayer who “mines” virtual currency (for example, uses computer
resources to validate Bitcoin transactions and maintain the public Bitcoin
transaction ledger) realize gross income upon receipt of the virtual currency
resulting from those activities?
A-8: Yes, when a taxpayer successfully “mines” virtual currency, the fair market value
of the virtual currency as of the date of receipt is includible in gross income.

Q-9: Is an individual who “mines” virtual currency as a trade or business subject
to self-employment tax on the income derived from those activities?
A-9: If a taxpayer’s “mining” of virtual currency constitutes a trade or business, and the
“mining” activity is not undertaken by the taxpayer as an employee, the net earnings
from self-employment (generally, gross income derived from carrying on a trade or
business less allowable deductions) resulting from those activities constitute selfemployment
income and are subject to the self-employment tax.

if they find out who you are and that you mined with the intention of profit (and we all do that) they will check if you are registered or declared the gains in your tax.
Profit arises when one sells crypto for fiat money, doesn't it?  This they can't figure out, unless you show them your wallets, sales on exchanges etc.

Another point,  If you just keep crypto on your wallet, it can't be considered a profit, because crypto is not considered to be money by governments, so there is no profit.     Imagine you bought some game tokens for $1, and just keep them. One day these tokens' price increases to $2.    Will tax authorities demand from you to pay $1 difference ?  Smiley

Another example - you bought 5 years ago one ounce of gold for $1000, and now it costs $1300.  Do you need to pay taxes just because it's market price increased??    Wink

Thank you, this is completely clear now!!    Smiley

The only potential obstacle I see here is that giga-watt was planning to place tokens on exchange in 3 monthes period after the launch - that is somewhere in November.  Market makers will get the tokens much earlier - in Aug&Sep.  In order to distribute tokens to those who bought from them on hitbtc, market makers will need to have possibility to withdraw tokens from Giga-watt/cryptonomos in Aug&Sep.  If giga-watt won't allow to withdraw tokens till November, the buyers will have to wait till that time....

857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡⛏️[ANN] Giga Watt: Best Home for your Mining. Starts today! on: August 07, 2017, 06:46:25 PM
The way it usually works is that the exchange disables withdrawal function, until they actual tokens are available and they have enough liquidity to pay off the IUOs. I wouldn't risk it. Usually they'll give you an excuse if you try to withdraw, like the wallet is under maintenance or something like that.
So, it is the exchange, and not a IUO token seller who owes tokens to the buyer ?    If somebody sells  futures on wtt token, isn't it him who must supply tokens to the buyer in future?   The seller gets money(BTC) now for the future wtt tokens,  not exchange, so why exchange will need to supply them?

Also curious if anyone has bought miners through the gigawatt.sg site yet and can vouch for the sale.

Thanks!
I've bought  Smiley Gigawatt  support wrote me a letter some time ago informing that they had opened .sg site for selling miners specifically to the tokens' holders.
