LOLLL people here are so delusional thinking that Wikipedia accepting BTC donations will do anything significant to Bitcoin's community

You lack basic understanding of how marketing works.  And basic understanding of how a product succeeds en masse.

I certainly am not sending not even one satoshi to the guy who is part of the 1% richest people in the world and who is responsible for centralizing information on the internet.

Think bigger picture man.   This isn't about that.   Its about BTC succeeding.  Billions of people being liberated from centralized banking systems.  Freedom from corrupt governments.  Poorest people in the world performing remittances and getting to keep that $40 they would've given Western union.  And your coins being worth $40,000 one day.

Nothing else matters.

Do it for that reason.

If we don't get him at least 100 BTC I am going to be really upset with the bitcoin community.  This is bigger than overstock.  This is bigger than tiger direct.  This is bigger than Mt. Gox.  If you guys don't send him a barrage of donations we are going to be missing out on something huge.  THINK about it...

I agree.

I just sent 0.2  (wanted to hit about $120)

I hope everyone donates.

He's received 6 BTC so far.
844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia founder asking for help to learn Bitcoin on: March 10, 2014, 04:34:18 PM
Im not very impressed with his reddit announcement.

Had he been on the ball even slightly, "Wikipedia Accepting Bitcoin" could have been a huge announcement, and boosted the price.

Instead he's all:

"I  have a wallet .. uhh ... i guess ... .i mean .. i think someone sent coins to it ... so uhh ... if you want to keep doing that .... you can.  Ill try to read more ... maybe figure this out .... so .. uhh yeah"

I mean, how bad was that intro?

845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Co-workers talking about bitcoin.... so much misinformation still today on: March 10, 2014, 04:09:18 PM
Try not to let it drive you crazy.  I had dinner with two buddies last week who basically said the same thing.
And you saw the text message from my step brother.

Every time you hear this, just buy more Bitcoin, and thank God that you are actually going to be that much more rich one day.
Because by the time the idiot masses realize whats happening, it will be way too expensive for any of them to make any real money.

At some point the predictions of its long term value hitting $40,000+ will become mainstream thinking.
It will be added to investment portfolios en masse, and by that time, whole bitcoins will be somewhat rare.
As millions begin adding it to their portfolios, your whole whole bitcoins worth more and more and more.

You'll be rewarded for educating yourself.  That's how it works on planet earth.  Always.

Aw that's cute.   After 5 years of talking sh*t and mocking the idiots and fools and "suckas" and "bitcoin cultists" they're finally getting their heads out of their asses and realizing their IQ's were lower than ours.

848  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin looking very weak at mid $600 on: March 10, 2014, 01:15:28 AM
No  no no.

These guys bitcoins aren't worth 10x as much

Because they are buying and selling them every week, in a desperate attempt to make a few dollars.

Now they can't arbitrage and Bitcoin isn't going haywire up and down.  too bad so sad.  #daytraderproblemz

Buy and hold.

Nonsense.  That letter is not legit.

Nobody talks like that.   Not even a goofy asian man with a thick accent.  And they can be pretty entertaining to listen to sometimes.

It reads like its intentional.  Not natural at all.  Takes some discretion to pick up on the nuances, but its not legit.

Not buying it.  Sorry.

851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are losing Bitcoin.Bitcoin had its 15 minutes of fame We are losing our dream on: March 09, 2014, 01:46:09 AM
Man, seriously?  After all that, your best ideas are Bitcoin statues and putting a flag in space?

This is why we may never go mainstream.  If ideas like these are the best we can come up with ...

I expressed bewilderment and confusion at the Flag thing previously.   Monuments and statues???  Sorry.  I'm lost.

I dont get it.  Terrible ideas.

852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Satoshi being the real Satoshi? here are some facts... on: March 08, 2014, 06:38:05 PM
and the fact that I want to know ( to have peace with my mind) annoys you right?

What?  Nothing i said indicated that your desire to know, was annoying.

Your creation of this thread is annoying, because it doesn't get you closer to knowing.  It only draws attention to a man who has asked repeatedly to be left alone.

Im amazed I have to hold your hand through this logic process.

And stop winking at people in your posts.   Its creepy.

853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopolous raising funds for Dorian Nakamoto on: March 08, 2014, 06:32:42 PM

d00d, it is just a money grab scheme. Relax, chill out. Someone will have several free lunch for a good period of time.

No.  Its not.   Its far more likely its an "I want to meet Satoshi" scheme.  Andreas doesn't steal Bitcoins from people.  He has a long history of donating.

854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dorian Satoshi being the real Satoshi? here are some facts... on: March 08, 2014, 06:22:00 PM
You haven't revealed anything new.

These are obvious things anyone with an IQ over twelve took note of.

You speak as if these are revelations.   They're not.

The bottom line is this:   Whether he is, or isn't, he deserves 100% privacy and anonymity, and to be left alone.

Given that Leah lied her way into conversation with him in the first place, her ability to lie was established.

This doesn't prove or disprove anything.  But the moral of the story here is:   Let the whole situation sleep.

You can secretly be giddy that you laid eyes on Satoshi if you like.  But all you're doing is prolonging this guys misery by continuing to discuss it.  Whether he is Satoshi or not.

855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ROTFLMAO New Dorian Bitcoin slogan: "Bitcoin: it has lots of buttery taste!" on: March 08, 2014, 03:38:19 PM
Why is this the slogan?

How about we use something he actually said on nationwide television just before the big Bitcoin highway chase?

"I want my free lunch"

Almost as great as the classic:  "I want my two dollars!"

Need to help you guys with your marketing ideas.

857  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let us take a moment to laugh at the BTC day traders. on: March 08, 2014, 05:32:17 AM
Bitcoin thanks you for adding to its volatility, and helping ruin its reputation with investors who might take it to another level of worldwide adoption because they are concerned about its instability.

You're totally an asset to this community, and the long term success of Bitcoin.

(sarcasm).

But hey!  At least you made some quick bucks for yourself right?   (thereby proving everything written about day traders by everybody on Page 1 of this thread)

858  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the world too dumb for Bitcoins? on: March 08, 2014, 05:25:12 AM
I have always felt that 10% of the population runs the world, because 10% (or less) of the population has an IQ significantly higher than the masses.

Very few people operate on an intellectual level capable of grasping anything but the basics of life.

I truly believe that.

But I rarely say it out loud because it would make me sound like a dick.

Didn't need to make one.

One already exists:

They refer to her as a Liar, "Dangerous" and more ....

Another article said she was sitting on his front porch for an hour after he told her to go away.

What a fucking slob she is.   Sorry ...
