Even if they do end up shipping on schedule, I don't think I'd buy from them again unless they offer a really good repeat buyer incentive. Simply because of the terrible customer experience..constantly checking here or on ecointalk to see if there has been a new forum post and nothing.. while Cointerra spoils their customers with high resolution pictures and detailed descriptions on what's going on every week.

So assuming BA taped out on Jan 3, 49 days after that would be Feb 21. Hopefully this is really the case. Considering cointerra only got ~1,6 th/s from their chips, will BA have the same problem? That's a good question. If so, then I'd expect more chips would be added or something, similar to how they promised more hashing power to make up for a potential price drop. |

Both Matt's and Blackarrow's "local time" on their profile is 8:30PM, so it sounds like they're in Europe, not China.
Blackarrow may be in Europe, but I believe their foundry is in China. Regardless, I doubt Matt works in the foundry, and I'd be surprised if anyone was answering phone calls or emails at 8:30p on a Saturday, so the point remains the same. They said that their foundry is Globalfoundries, which is primarily in Germany and Singapore. Though they do have an office in Shanghai. Well my order has been in and processed for months. Not much to do but wait. I guess that is my stance. Nothing I can do will make things happen any faster. Patience is a virtue and all the speculation from others is just their own impatience and fear getting the better of them.
People's fears are well grounded. There has been a lot of overpromise and under-delivery in this sector, and Blackarrow acknowledged that earlier on too. If no one was asking for an update, then they'd probably never give one. |

To the argument that says they have no time to make one single post: they DO have time to make a post if they DO have time to log into both their bitcointalk and ecointalk accounts. http://ecointalk.net/user/5-blackarrow/Blackarrow was again online last night but didn't make a post. What do you want them to post? Simply...... nothing has changed we are still on target... or we are behind.... Or just Hi.... What would that solve? I guess it might make people all warm and fuzzy inside. I think the best thing they can do would be.... 1.) Get the site back... and 2.) answer tickets. 3.) Post an update on their site. With that order being about right. Any of the above would be acceptable at this point. If there's no change, then say there's no change and things are still on schedule. |

How do you know they are using Globalfoundries? I'd think they'd use a more local foundry, not one in the USA/Germany.

I, too, would love an update on Tape-out. At this point I almost wish tape-out happened in secret.
Can Black Arrow take the time to tell us where they are sitting in this ASIC development process? 44 days until the end of Feb; 40 days until Feb 24th.
I hope you are right and they have already or now have the Minion in Global for production otherwise we're screwed. The last update from BA was on Jan/3/14 stating they had no more time to goof with the design and added more cores. I think most of us expected tape out at that time. If you watch the video link below of Global foundries at 08.46 they tell you how long it takes just to make the wafer let alone the rest of making it into an working Asic  They've mentioned that they can use multiple foundries in parallel, if need be. |
