I'm new to darkcoin and don't know much about it, but I noticed that Darkcoin.io has an old windows binary. The download on the front page is 0.9.1.2. It's not cool. That should be changed!
I know, both developers have their noses to the grindstone lately, and I can imagine it's hard to switch to do the mundane of keeping the website up to date, especially because the design is still up in the air... Ugh! Where is the newest mac wallet to use? I don't have a ton of coins (maybe 1000ish) but sort of want to consolidate them in a safe place now. I tried using the mac wallet from the main website, but it couldn't sync. Is there a better wallet? Or do I need to set up some files on it or something? First page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg4585071#msg4585071Hmm... does that differ from the one upon their website? I wonder why it wouldn't sync for me. Pretty sure that is the one I used. I tested it and it works for me. And yes it's the current version without DarkSend. Delete the folders blocks and chainstate in \AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin and let the wallet resync.

That's the brilliance of MasterNodes, regular wallet holders won't have to keep a bulky blockchain on their computer (or webpages, or messages, etc...) only Masternodes. And there are going to be enough MasterNodes to keep the whole system decentralized and secure.
I don't think we have anything to worry about. The foundation has been set for the tallest building in the world.
His post looked like a shameless promotion ...

guys is it possible to make an easy creation of masternode ,because for me is too hard ,i ve read how to make it 00000 understanding ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . i have 7k darkcoins No offence but if you read a guide and still can't do it you shouldn't be doing it! Leave it up to the pros or wait for a server image to come out! as i understand should be a lot of people who cant make a masternode so that means they are left out.Is it that hard to make a youtube video how to set up a masternode?Or is the darkcoin only for tech people ? They are not left out, but if they can't understand that simple guide, the probability to put their 1000 DRK at risk is higher. I think that a minimum of knowledge is required to setup and protect a masternode.

I don't see the issue, that's the right version without DarkSend. To use DarkSend you have to download the RC version @ http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoin-qt.exe

@gweisoh Will you please stop trying to ride on Darkcoin's wave to promote your (partner's) coin and twitter account.
I put that user on my ignore list weeks ago. I suggest everyone to do the same ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Yes, but meanwhile we can't see what he's up to, and he can spam all day long for the newcomers.

We all understand this, but frankly, no serious users will ever use a closed source system. But to relieve your fears a bit, integrating DarkSend into an existing coin will be very difficult. According to Evan, the developer, it will take someone with real skill and it will be very easy to break your existing coin. Second, most of us believe we have something special just because we have Evan Duffield as our developer. This MasterNode thing is going to enable us to do things not thought of yet.
I suggested something to Evan last night. Imagine this; The master nodes are decentralized. There will be a lot of them by the time this gets going, therefore they are another decentralized service. What if you put the blockchain on them to serve up? What if wallets don't have to hold 17 gigs of blockchain, but are all lightweight due to the MasterNodes serving up this information when needed? The lightweight wallets for bitcoin use a centralized solution, and if everyone used only lightweight wallets, the network would be easily destabilized. Not with MasterNodes. MasterNodes could enable everyone to use a light wallet! Now thinking along those lines... can you think of other things DarkCoin MasterNodes would be able to do for everyone? Just use your imagination...
If anyone has any doubts about DarkCoins future.... Think on the above.... Think about our fantastically gifted developer who can implement anything. If you still don't see it, I can't help you, you're limited, LOL
This plus the dual licensing (yes me again with this ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ) That would be great, but I don't have enough knowledge of licensing to know if it's possible. There is also the probability that it would simply be ripped off anyway, and then what could we do? Sue? In a court of law? Either you function outside the system or enslave yourself to the system. The community already pretty much "polices" cloned coins by not taking any that don't offer anything new seriously. Sure, scams are everywhere, and newbs get taken for a ride, that's life. Everyone has to beware and careful in the wild west. But this is a different world with no guarantees. Yeah but can you trust a dev (and his coin) if he uses DarkSend without permission ? In that case it can be self-policed using the community trust.

Thank you. Is there a link that explains "master nodes". I like the coin and want to support it but I'm just not very tech savvy to be honest, though I'm trying to increase my knowledge. Where can I learn about the benefits of DRK? [...] please do it on a server such as an Amazon EC2 tiny [...] I think it's better to diversify the hosts. (reliable + DDOS protection included)

Guys, maybe we can get back to work with the marketing. Evan is doing his part we should do ours. This is a reply from TheCryptoDepot to my communication to them yesterday. I am setting a goal for myself of contacting at least 5 merchants a day. Is there official communication in English that could be sent to the Chinese exchanges I can get it translated really quick, my sisters boyfriend lived in China for several years and is willing to help. support@thecryptodepot.com Apr 25 (1 day ago) to me Hello, Thank you for your email regarding adding DarkCoin to our accepted coins list. We are not opposed to adding a digital currency that has good backing and a good community behind it. That being said, before adding we want to make sure our service would actually be used by those who hold DarkCoins. Thank you, - The Crypto Depot Support Team You can make a poll (e.g. "Will you use thecryptodepot.com service with your Darkcoins" Yes or No) and send the result and the link to them, if there is a sufficient number of respondents + the current market cap and position.

Im killing myself i never mined this at the beginning, how many coins per MH/day would i have got last month?
It was actually pretty unprofitable to mine at the time. about .65 coins/mhash/day last couple months At the time it was a lot more profitable to mine scrypt and sell for DRK, unless your electricity was super expensive. For the short term ... Some who did mine then and held their coins are able to make a nice profit now. (I remember how many came by saying "that coin is unprofitable" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ) Long term vision FTW.

Airdrop was an idea that was floated for a few hours and then abandoned. Nothing to be worried about mate. Don't feed him, he perfectly knows that. He used to come often on this thread, now he's trying to act ingenuous. Just trying to nourish the FUD.

Anyone could explain the benefits of set an own masternode? I have more than 1k darks so i can create it but why should i make it?
There is some financial penalty for ddos, which the nodes get to keep. Broadcasting rejected transactions results in 0.1 drk being deducted and paid to each random master node that gets picked for every transaction. You could make a fair profit from just running nodes. And what if the address which is sending out the requests doesn't have enough DRK to pay the penalty? You can't make a transaction if there are not enough funds (including the penalty)

I dont understand why people keep using the words "pump" and "dump" in the context of Darkcoin. [...]
Pick one : 1 - They are very friendly people who only want to help others by giving them a good and free advice. (lol) 2 - They want to look smart by using those words. 3 - They want to manipulate the market and buy cheap coins.
