Please let's calm down. Bitcoin didn't go up overnight. Warren Buffett didn't make his billions overnight. Darkcoin won't go to BTC parity overnight. But I think it could make a serious play on BTC in the coming months.

Instead of running commentary on the short term swings in price, let's get to work on developing the community and promoting the benefits of anonymous transactions. Not many people know about DRK. Let's get to work people. That's how we'll change the fortunes of DRK supporters/investors.

I'm editing/rewriting the Darkcoin website copy. I plan to have something to show by the end of the week. I also recently wrote that media release and I plan to write more releases as DRK develops. Other people are putting in some good work.

What's everyone else doing?

Cool story.

Guy, you are not a hero... everyone can make a website and call the media ect, ect. Just.... you wanna do it then you do it, everybody has a work to do in this world.

I don't understand why you come here playing the hero and blaming the people for nothing lol.

Careful XC anonymous coin is a scam

Yeah, completely uncalled for. Angry

Maybe his tone was off, but he is right. If all we do as a community is cheerlead the price rather than spread the word about DRK's features then this coin will have a hard time reaching its full potential.  Actually putting in some work for the betterment of the coin, if you have the time, hardly makes you a hero.

It makes you a supporter...

They are forking it into an advanced algorithm, we will be seeing some significant growth soon. Not to mention Daikoku getting involved.

Man, stop it please.

agreed, we're all here (well most of us anyway) because we believe in DarkCoin and think it can succeed.  I think any work people do to help DRK is great.  Admittidly, apart from mining the coin i havent done much as yet but I am definitely looking to get more involved.

Yes, but meanwhile we can't see what he's up to, and he can spam all day long for the newcomers.

I'm new to darkcoin and don't know much about it, but I noticed that Darkcoin.io has an old windows binary. The download on the front page is 0.9.1.2. It's not cool. That should be changed!

I don't see the issue, that's the right version without DarkSend. To use DarkSend you have to download the RC version @ http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoin-qt.exe

Good idea. In the meantime Merchants contacted today:

  • chronicstar.net
  • bitcoinseedstore.com
  • foreverpleasure.com
  • bitcoinbazaar.co.uk
  • allthingsluxury.biz
  • bitezze.com

If we all do this we can create awareness really quick.

I would like to help you with this, and I think we should all put some time into this, could we use IRC to coordinate it?

We could prepare some templates if you don't have already, separate merchants by type of service/product they offer, share a google document with the list ...

And again, I think a IRC channel (#darkcoin-marketing maybe?) would be perfect to coordinate this. Who else can spend 10 minutes a day helping here?

Hey, thanks Kaene, I will create the google doc and share it. This is a reply I received from chronicstar.net from my communication yesterday. And you can see the email I sent them below. From their reply it dawned on me we have to hit payment processors and merchants at the same time. Will start doing that. If someone could edit my email an improve it I will be happy to use a different template. English is not my native language. Lets be the change we want to see in Darkcoin. (Sorry thought of it and couldnt resist paraphrasing Ghandi)

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Your coin does indeed show to have good promise. We currently use https://www.coinpayments.net/supported-coins for our payment processing.

We have only 1 coin right now that we accept manually (order through emails) but we would be willing to accept dark coin if there is a demand for our kind of products.

If we can get listed on some directories and get a bit of awareness we would be willing to start accepting this coin. Let us know.

Cheers,

Chronic Star

    Dear Chronicstar.net,

I hope you guys are doing well, I just wanted to make you aware of the advantages of adding Darkcoin to your accepted coins. Darkcoin is the first truly trustless anonymous crypto currency, with mixing of transactions from the wallet.

This means that your customers will be protected as their transactions will be untraceable when buying from you and using darkcoins. With other cryptos like bitcoin if the identity of a person and their address are linked together at some point all transactions related to that person can be traced in the blockchain. Thus DRK anonymity feature would provide added value to your customers, specially in your line of business.  You can visit www.darkcoin.io to learn more.

I could also put you in contact with the developers if necessary. Darkcoin is currently #10 in coinmarketcap.com and rising fast given its unique innovations.

    Regards,

    Darkcoin Awareness

We also need to start a directory of merchants. Where would be the best place to do that? Darkcointalk.org?

Who is even accepting DRK now? Where can I spend a few? I haven't see a site which does accept it.

Darkcoin is at an earlier stage of its marketing program, specially because Darksend RC1 was only released on the 18th and RC2 is still on the works. This means that its main value added proposition anonymity is not yet officially released. We are so close now that it makes sense to start creating awareness. No doubt we will be accepted in many places soon, you can join the effort and help us get the news out there.

This is a big problem. Infrastructure has not developed and nobody knows when the situation will change for the better
